Jimmy Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 IF Matty leaves at all, and it is an IF, it won`t be till the summer, this will give us time to sort out a new contract for him. not If Milan and Pearson get pissed off with him stalling on a contract and decide to cash in during the inflated price season that is the January transfer window
Koke Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I really don't care if Fryatt signs a pre-contract with another club, nor do I care if he leaves in the summer and we get pack of crisps in return because he's under 24. All I really want is him to stay till the summer and gets us promoted to the top flight of the fizzy pop leagues.
potter3 Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Fryatt has never proved himself at a higher level, offering him a 3-4 extension would IMO be a bad move by the club. I'd rather we kept him till the end of the season, or cash in to a panic buying club such as Derby for £2mil+, this sounds a little crazy, but I think it could well happen. There are a number of options with £2million we can sign a decent striker who can score at this level and higher. I'd rather keep Fryatt for the rest of the season on this form and let him go (we'd still get a reasonable fee from a tribunal I think) than cash in on him in January and run the risk of not being able to replace him. Even if we brought in Lambert or Cox or someone similar I doubt they'd hit the ground running which would mean we'd be without a regular scorer, unless you count Lloyd who's not even a striker. Oh, and Phillips, here?
Jimmy Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 we lose a percentage of what ever we get to Walsall

Reasonable fee? We'll get peanuts, and on top of that Walsall are nicking a percentage of that off us. But I don't mind. As long as we go up with his goals, he can leave for a can of coke and a packet of crisps.
RowlattsFox Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 we lose a percentage of what ever we get to Walsall Doesn't that only apply if we sell him for more than what we paid for him? I can't remember how much we paid for him but you rarely get a good deal at a tribunal.
Koke Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I think we paid 750k for him, but I could be wrong.
Finnegan Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Couldn't we make a 'cheeky' move for McSheffrey as didn't think he was in the Brum team... Plus, I heard he might also be a Leicester fan?? doubt it. He's Coventry born and bred.
Webbo Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I think we paid 750k for him, but I could be wrong. I thought it was £400k but I wouldn't swear on it.
JakeShingler Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 I thought it was £400k but I wouldn't swear on it. 118 it.

Or have a search on this new fangled thing called the internet... (You can do this on all good, and bad search engines, google, yahoo...) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matty_Fryatt Wikipedia - Not the most reliable source, reports somewhere in the region of £350,000. But I read on another website that the transfer fee was undisclosed.

Matt Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Exactly. And 118 is? I've text them a few times and they have been wrong more times than right.
