Snow

Apparently a lot of local authorities have 'run out'.

Which seems strange as they've only really done motorways - and even then there was a big stretch of the M20 they couldn't be bothered with.

Highways agency has responsibility for the motorways, local authorities for all the little roads...and it's the LA's who've run out of grit.

This has come from over-gritting the main roads before there was any serious weather on the back of daft Met Office predictions.

All round, we are a bit shit at bad weather but that has always been the way - and I hope we continue. Life should always be about impromptu days off work, snowmen in the back garden and laughing at those getting flustered by it all.

No snow at all on the Isle of Wight. The only evidence that we ever had any this week is a little stump of snow that used to be a snowman.

Living close to the office is not always such a good thing. Just chekced my email and they're saying that people should stay home and work unless those staff members that can walk in. Damn it

Heavy snow in Lincolnshire too.

Yep it has snowed all night on top of what we already had and is snowing heavily here near Grantham, must be a couple of inches now....

i don't mean to annoy, i just feel left out all the way over here

i just find it really funny that 'heavy snow' = 'a few centimetres'.... and yes i do feel quite smug that the 4 inches or so that fell overnight here had absolutely no effect whatsoever, mind you on the way to the train station it was about 2 inches deep in slush - not good.

i'm in england end of next week and no doubt it will be heavy rain for the week

seriously, i love snow, it's not 17 feet, but i'll post some pictures of how beautiful it is here when it does snow (and bare in mind the previous two years were practically snow free here!)

stoped in aylestone now but roads still not great , i tryed to get to my work today going from aylestone road to melton mowbray but gave up after only geting 4miles in an hour , anyone else try and fail to get to work??????

seriously, if anyone on here owns a tractor or a 4x4, invest in a snow plow, ok you won't use it often, but you could charge the earth when you do :thumbsup:
