Uncle Albert Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Ronaldo won the prestigious Ballon d'Or trophy after scoring 42 goals as Manchester United won the Champions League and Premier League last season. "It is one of the most beautiful days of my life, something I dreamed of as a child," said the 23-year-old winger. Barcelona forward Lionel Messi was second and Liverpool striker Fernando Torres was third. Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard were also in the running to succeed Kaka as Europe's top star. Booooom!
Alexikokopops Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Yup. Haha. In all seriousness though he deserved it. 42 goals for a winger is ridiculous.
The People's Hero Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Haha. In all seriousness though he deserved it. 42 goals for a winger is ridiculous. Yeah. What he said.

Bert Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 He proved last season he was the best, and no-one apart from Messi was really close to him, fully deserved. Albert, put your nob away.

Albert, put your nob away. Been away for a while but come on just proves what I have been saying for the last few months doesnt it? But people still argued it.
Darkzzz_ Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Been away for a while but come on just proves what I have been saying for the last few months doesnt it? But people still argued it. I have never argued the talent the bloke has got. In my opinion he fully deserved it with the fantastic season he had last season. But my opinion still does not change, Ronaldo is great but Messi (In my opinion) is the better player. Well done Ronaldo, That's what I say, Messi coming second is no shame at all considering his injuries, in which he still made Ronaldo look silly at the Nou Camp and Old Trafford. I hope you, Ronaldo's number one fan can celebrate with him as you speak as if you are the only one who knows who he is.
James. Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Uncle Albert - always one step ahead of the game.
Tilley Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Well, only Albert predicted it. Thanks pal, who needs MOTD, Sky etc when we've got you. Still, would prefer Kaka or Messi in my team, he's a dirty cheat.

Tilley Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Didn't Messi score a goal with his hand against Espanyol? At least he's good at disguising it.
purpleronnie Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Love to see Ronaldo in Spain I bet you any money he wouldn't have it as easy as he does in the Prem.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Amazing player easily the best in the world. No. Messi is more consistent, especially agains tthe bigger teams, had Barca played with the same finesse that they are showing this season, he'd have won the award. Ronaldo had an incredible season last year, but was blessed with a brilliantly talented set of team mates. Barca never really got off the ground. name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>"> name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350">

And not just last season this season and one before last.
lildave3 Posted 2 December 2008 Posted 2 December 2008 Ronaldo is better misfielder scoring that many goals. And not just last season this season and one before last. You're not quite grasping these yearly awards are you Shingler.
