Best places to go out in Leicester

Went to the Wagamama's (sp) place earlier. Very nice.

It's steady away Japanese food at a steady away price. I've got a couple of friends who lived in Japan for a year and they took me to this Japanese restaurant in Chinatown in London and it was on the money. Really small and pokey but the food was tasty.

I need to try this kind of Chinese.

A few decent ale houses to check out, if you haven't done so already.

The Criterion (also does excellent pizzas)

Out Of The Vaults

The Ale Wagon

The High Cross

and last but not least, Lloyds No. 1 in the Market. You never know who you might find in there! ;)

I think you've pulled, AOWW!!!

Barceloneta (Tapas) on Queens Rd has great food ,reasonably priced and a nice atmosphere

Staff of Life at Mowsley is a pub/restaurant that'does very nice food. Bit out of town but worth the trip

Foxton Locks Inn is a nice setting - right on the waterside with a nice walk to be had if sobering up is required. Food is decent enough albeit not at the same standard as the two above

Little Tokyo on Braunstone Gate is quite similar to that description and the food there is superb and very cheap given the outlay paid when there.

Avoid all of these like the plague...

Try O'Neils, Walkabout, R and D, Terrace if you want nice, clean, welcoming places...

Foodwise try Homemade Handburger Co. it is awesome! The chicken satay burger is a particular fave of mine...

Top this all off with a trip to Fanclub or end up in R and D for chilled beers till late.

Next day visit the Badgers Sett in Cropston for a top Sunday Lunch or if you wanna stay central try Colourworks by the Canal, they serve an excellent carvery...

O'Neills is OK (although the nearby Globe is better), but Walkabout??

You might like bland Aussie theme bars, I'm not sure AoWW would...

She might not be drawn to a run down, smells like urine, poor excuse of a drinking establishment such as the Ale Wagon either...

Yeah, I think Ultra just believes that pubs are not really pubs unless they serve Real Ale from wooden casks....

My discerning criteria goes thus:

"Does it sell vodka?"

Simple.
