Tilley Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 When I first opened it, it didn't show the picture of the Emirates. I was going to write, 'Emiartes take II' but you've already done it. So, yeah.
Finnegan Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 In all fairness, they're both a rip off of that one in Portugal. And isn't the New Anfield design the same? This is basically the Premier League version of our series of kit based stadiums (us, Derby, Stoke, Swansea, etc.)
Koke Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Copycats. Does Spuds actually have a long ST waiting list, or is that a ludicrous false claim from them. Shame if they move, cos I quite like White Hart Lane.

lildave3 Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Naming Rights. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it as White Hart Lane...
Simi Posted 15 December 2008 Author Posted 15 December 2008 Surely it isnt Where did you find this Ched? Standupsitdown.
Samilktray Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 Naming Rights.Doesn't quite have the same ring to it as White Hart Lane... I thought it gave it a unique edge.
Maybes Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 I thought it gave it a unique edge. Nothing wrong with White Hart Lane. One of the better grounds.
Sods Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 New grounds are turning into a farce, when will a club build something different and unique.
Fosse Boy Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 New grounds are turning into a farce, when will a club build something different and unique. When we go back in time? Or, maybe I should become an architect, learn how to build cowsheds, then just build a shit load of stadiums comprised entirely of cowsheds.
Sods Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 When we go back in time? Or, maybe I should become an architect, learn how to build cowsheds, then just build a shit load of stadiums comprised entirely of cowsheds. Good one. Every new ground basically has already got a replica. Its boring.
Finchy Posted 15 December 2008 Posted 15 December 2008 New grounds are turning into a farce, when will a club build something different and unique. I think the new Liverpool stadium will look incredible, if they do it like the plans.
Lovejoy Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 When we go back in time? Or, maybe I should become an architect, learn how to build cowsheds, then just build a shit load of stadiums comprised entirely of cowsheds. Your favourite team McDons have a stand called the Cowshed .
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 I think the new Liverpool stadium will look incredible, if they do it like the plans. What's with the lack of seating in the corners?
Lillehamring Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 the truble with any ground spurs have, is its location -WHL is the worst stadium in the world to get to, in the worst part of london possible... if it goes ahead, someone will probably nick it anyway. the liverpool one is oddly 'anfieldy', though it looks very steep!
breadandcheese Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 The steep Liverpool stadium should be great (if it's ever built). I hate the new stadia with their perfect bowl curves. Supposedly, the curves allow the sound to transmit down to the pitch perfectly, but that just means the sound doesn't echo round the ground in the way it did at Filbert Street, or other older grounds. Stadia need sharp edges and corners so that the sound waves can rebound and create a noisy atmosphere. Hopefully, Liverpool's new stadium will achieve this.
Finchy Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 I know it's not football but I'm really liking the plans for Welford Road too, they wont lose any atmosphere at all.
C-man Posted 16 December 2008 Posted 16 December 2008 I know it's not football but I'm really liking the plans for Welford Road too, they wont lose any atmosphere at all. It's 'cos they have no atmosphere in the first place. I'm sorry but Welford Road is one of the most overrated atmospheres in world sport. People only think it's good because Tigers have a supreme home record, its always full, and its occasionally loud when teams like Munster turn up. I was a ball boy there for 2 years, and when they played the weaker teams, there was a worse atmosphere there than there is at the Walkers. I do like those plans though, Tigers definitely need a new stadium to cope with demand for tickets, and the plans are very original. I like the Liverpool plans, and the new Spurs stadium is just laughable.
