Alexikokopops Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Ward Grayson Coatsworth Willis Whitlow Carey Blake Gibson Roberts Ormondroyd Walsh
Fez of Mahrez Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Ward Grayson Coatsworth Willis Whitlow Carey Blake Gibson Roberts Ormondroyd Walsh Looks even more ludicrous on paper than when you watch the DVD back.
Alexikokopops Posted 22 December 2008 Posted 22 December 2008 Looks even more ludicrous on paper than when you watch the DVD back. I know. How the fudge did that team ever get promoted to the Premier League?
wirralsimon Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 I know. How the fudge did that team ever get promoted to the Premier League? When you put it that way, Brian Little must have been one of the all-time greats!
Sparky Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Looks even more ludicrous on paper than when you watch the DVD back. Even more when you think Carey was actually in the back 5 !!! 5-2-3 Mark Blake and Colin Gibson as a 2 man midfiled , it was awesome
Alexikokopops Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Even more when you think Carey was actually in the back 5 !!!5-2-3 Mark Blake and Colin Gibson as a 2 man midfiled , it was awesome Me and Fez were discussing this and it looked like he was playing a bit more advanced when we last watched it. Could be chatting shit though. 5-2-3 was the favoured formation of Keith Alexander at Lincoln. Got them into the play-offs a billion seasons in a row.
jayyd08 Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 mark de vries and ade akinbadbuy are surely best strikers we have ever had
Thracian Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 I wouldn't take any " greatest Leicester" side seriously if it didn't include Davie Gibson.
Thracian Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 So difficult but (from games I saw) ======================== Best goalkeepers: Gordon Banks, Peter Shilton (no question) Best full-backs: Peter Rodriques, Pontus Kaamark, Ritchie Norman; Best centre-back/ wing halves: Frank McLintock, Ian King, Colin Appleton, John Sjoberg, Graham Cross. Best wingers: Derek Hogg, Lennie Glover, Keith Weller. Best attacking midfielders: Davie Gibson, Muzzy Izzett. Best strikers: Arthur Chandler, Arthur Rowley, Frank Worthington, Derek Dougan, Emile Heskey, Gary Lineker.
martyn Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Matt Elliott would surely have to get into most squads/sides?? He was our most "accomplished" player of the MON era i reckon. Franck Rolling was also another special talent.
Corky Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 From what I've seen- Flowers Grayson Elliott Walsh Whitlow Taylor Izzet Lennon Guppy Heskey Cottee
Burleyfox Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 Thracian How the **** can you leave out - our best left back ever............ Dennis Rofe - best holding midfield............... Neil Lennon AND - how can you possible rate Heskey ahead of Allan Clarke?
davieG Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 ThracianHow the **** can you leave out - our best left back ever............ Dennis Rofe - best holding midfield............... Neil Lennon AND - how can you possible rate Heskey ahead of Allan Clarke? As good as he was Clarke was a lazy arse and never really interested in playing for us.
Narborough Bod Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 When you put it that way, Brian Little must have been one of the all-time greats! He was a great manager. In the same way that Pearson has a lot of the same team from last year, Little had much of the team that almost got us relegated the year before. With a few classy additions - Platenauer, Fitzpatrick, Colin Gordon anyway, best X1 Hooper Charles Fenwick Madden Lewis Oswold Jarrett Yeates Cunningham D'Avray Lawrence on loan and unleashed (except I couldn't come up with an extra shit striker or left back so put in a couple of crims) seriously, from players I have seen in the past 25 years Flowers Mills Osman Walsh Kamaark Lynex McAllister Lennon Wright Lineker Collymore
Darkzzz_ Posted 23 December 2008 Posted 23 December 2008 From Players I have seen during my time as being a City fan. Keller Elliott Walsh Kaamark Grayson Izzet Lennon Savage Guppy Heskey Claridge
Pegosteve Posted 24 December 2008 Posted 24 December 2008 ThracianHow the **** can you leave out - our best left back ever............ Dennis Rofe - best holding midfield............... Neil Lennon AND - how can you possible rate Heskey ahead of Allan Clarke? Heskey in a different league to Clarke in terms of ability and loyalty. Allen Clarke only ever played for Allen Clarke (even at LUFC)
