Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Leeds were terrified of the fact they'd be facing both Dyer and Gradel, their team hasn't been able to handle wingers so to leave him out, well it didn't make sense to me. To take off Fryatt and throw on Dickov no doubt gave Leeds the biggest lift possible. Precisely. And we've all seen first hand how useless Sheehan is when confronted with anyone half decent on the wing. I'd rather see Campbell come on than Dickov. Which has led me to the conclusion that we do need a new striker in the window.
yessae Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I did edit my post. As you will see above.Ok, I don't doubt the passion, we are football fans and we love our clubs. I would have loved a pitch invasion last season if it meant staying up in the CHAMPIONSHIP. Not scraping a draw mid way through a CCL1 campaign. I am not painting you with the same brush, I think some of your posts have been decent, but my phone has been bombarded with texts from some Leeds fans I know and it is like you are massive club or something, they really are deluded. I must have missed something, last time I checked Leeds were a sub standard CCL 1 club. I dont think it was a typical Pitch Invasion mate. Anyways we'll know in sometime because the highlights will be up on LUTV now. I'll let you know and we'll see who stands corrected. From what Eddie Gray said , some fans celebrated with the players after the equalizer. The goal scorer ran to the stands. Is that called Invasion ? I'm not sure.

Few lads piling over the barrier in the midst of the celebration. Seen loads of clubs' fans do it (including us at Filbo) with last minute equalisers/winners. It's hardly hooligan business, sometimes I wish we had the bollocks/passion to do stuff like that at home games nowadays. Edit: Leeds fan got there before me.
Thracian Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Anyone know how many points we've dropped in the last 5 minutes? So many you'd have thought we'd have learned our lesson by now.

Don't blame the people who think it was a full blown pitch invasion because those idiots at Radio Leicester made it sound like one.
Daggers Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 No point arguing Good, because apart from the first five and the last five minutes they were piss quiet on my radio. All this bollocks about Leeds having amazing supporters is absolute, unsupportable cock. The only ones I ever seem to meet are half-sharp ****heads (usually with a higher blood alcohol level than IQ) being antagonistic.

I am a honest chap and if it were bollocks then I will hold my hands up. I don't have any problems with that. I don't have issues with you personally, I am not going to lie, I hate Leeds, Always have. Hope you have a smashing evening and enjoy that point. I am going to knock a few back now and enjoy my evening relaxing.
Daggers Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 When? This month? This year? Ever? I think complaining about conceeding an equaliser to a team pushing for all it has got is a bit poor, and to imply that we have some kind of chronic problem in this area is nothing more than deluded. Played 22 : Won 14 : Drawn 6 : Lost 2 : For 41 : Against 18 : Points 48 : Position - 1st

I have just switched my phone off, one Leeds fan I know text me saying they will win the league now. Oh my god... It gets worse.

Go easy on the pints as you are gonna need lots of them for the promotion party

Darkzzz_ Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 One draw and they're gonna win the league?? Classic delusion The thing is, the fan that text me that still thinks they are in the champions league. How do I break it to him?
Daggers Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 so you think we are going up? Does anyone doubt it?
Father Ted Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Not really. We got exactly what we deserved for being so negative from the moment we scored. It's the sort of thing Southampton did last season against both us and anyone decent. We could have continued taking the game to Leeds. We could have used someone like Gradel to drive at Sheehan rather than Dickov who's done what so far since he's been here? We just donated two points in almost as shameful a way as we did at home to Charlton last season and it is so typical of today's footballing philosophy. Did we even have a single shot second half against a more than ordinary defence?
yessae Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 so you think we are going up? Definitely. You got a good mix of youngsters and solid pros , that really makes your team so competent and versatile I feel. With the likes of Mattock , Weso , Gradel , Kisnorbo , Campbell etc all out , the league is yours to lose IMO . Really impressed with Nigel Pearson's work so far. He's building a team for the future , not to just win league 1.

Guest Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Yeah so do we, but that is a bad joke. Funnily enough I got the same joke in my Xmas cracker yesterday. Finally! A quality joke in a cracker
leedslad Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I think your commentators imagined that pitch invasion. Anyway, a fair result, although I don't feel either team performed. You looked solid, but nothing special really- particularly going forward. See you for a promotion battle at the Walkers

Darkzzz_ Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Can't wait until they come to our place. I shall clap Grayson, But as soon as the ball is kicked, he means nothing to me.
yessae Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 What would our allocation be at your place ? I bet you'd have Leeds fans getting into the home stands as well as filling up the official quota.
