yessae Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Good result for both teams. It feels like a win for us because we are desperate and it feels like a loss for you guys as it sounded like the win was almost yours . I was expecting a goal though because the support at E.R was simply fantastic , especially the 2nd half. When Marching On Together rang around Elland Road when it looked like the game was almost over , I couldn't help but think that a goal was coming for us . Good luck for the rest of the season , going by Eddie Gray's assessment , you guys sounded Effecient , hard working and really talented . Can't see anyone stopping you now from winning this league. Playoffs for us and I'd be glad. I expected a rout today but Simon Grayson has proved his credibility with some smart and positive substitutions . We would not av fought for the draw if Mcallister was still in charge. Well done Simon for motivating the lads. 1-1 , strugglers vs the league 1 Champions , I'd take it for now Cheers !

Daggers Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 the support at E.R was simply fantastic Yes. Throwing shirts onto the pitch. Pitch invasions. I wish we had a support as fantastic as that.
Libertine Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I would have took a draw as I said I had a bad feling about this match, but to lose 2 points in the last minute AGAIN..How many bloody times!!!!!!! We don't really do it that often these days.

You dug deep and got a result, just shows how much it meant, I mean come on, a pitch invasion for a draw. Mugs. (Aimed towards the Leeds fans of course and not YESSAE)
MC Prussian Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 That's my Freudian Slip for today. Saw us at 48 points and MK Dons at 46 (at 21 games still) and didn't know the BBC were that quick updating the table...
colbo68 Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 would have snapped there hands off for a draw to be honest, 30,000 + 7 from 9 pts dont worry lads. great effort from City - shame though to concede another sneaky late one

Corky Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 We don't really do it that often these days. Today was the fourth time we've dropped points from winning positions (and we've dropped nine). Walsall, Bristol Rovers and Carlisle are the times we've picked up points from losing positions (seven points). Only a difference of two points, which isn't too bad.
Benji Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Would have definitely took the point before the match, but you can't help being greedy and wanting the win today, especially with the way the game was going. Pearson always has been a little suspect with his subs I just hope it doesn't cost us towards the end of the season, when Dickov came on for Fryatt against Peterborough we went completely flat upfront, to do it again at 1-0 was only asking to be bombarded with attacks at the end. Hey ho, still top, back to winning ways against hereford.
Darkzzz_ Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 To be fair, he's been pretty genuine in that last post. I wasn't actually aiming it at him. It was towards the Leeds fans at the game to be honest.
Shrenchel Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Yes.Throwing shirts onto the pitch. Pitch invasions. I wish we had a support as fantastic as that. I do. They sounded loud as fook at points. Plus, there's been some far more cringeworthy moments at the walkers than one goon throwing his shirt towards the pitch.
RowlattsFox Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 I blame Peter Beagrie from Sky, minutes before they scored he said that Leeds were poor and never looked like scoring, I knew then that they would score. Like most, I would have took a point before the game but to be leading for so long and looking comfortable, I am disappointed not to win. 5 points clear of 3rd now but it could be so much more were it not for throwing away points at the death, so frustrating.

We'll see mate , I don't think Playoffs is ruled out for us , with a new manager and lots of signings lined up. You can try putting any spin you like on that pitch invasion story , I bet we'd seen similar scenes at your place under Holloway last season when you guys badly needed a result ! It's called Passion and some of us have it in excess

Corky Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 At least we've pulled further clear of Brighton and the other three at the bottom. 28 points the difference. Another couple of wins and we should be able to say we're safe for this season

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Agree with Thracian tbh. In the last portion of the game I'd much rather someone like Gradel, or even Adams, both proper wingers, come on, instead of Dickov, who, Fulham aside, has done absolutely sod all except get booked since he's returned. Gradel has enough pace to unnerve defenders, and for that reason alone, he should've seen some action today.
yessae Posted 26 December 2008 Posted 26 December 2008 Yes.Throwing shirts onto the pitch. Pitch invasions. I wish we had a support as fantastic as that. No point arguing if you are going to be so blinkered. If you couldn't hear the crowd backing the players and urging them to keep going in the 2nd half , then you need to meet the doc.

Gradel has enough pace to unnerve defenders, and for that reason alone, he should've seen some action today. Leeds were terrified of the fact they'd be facing both Dyer and Gradel, their team hasn't been able to handle wingers so to leave him out, well it didn't make sense to me. To take off Fryatt and throw on Dickov no doubt gave Leeds the biggest lift possible.

It's called Passion and some of us have it in excess I did edit my post. As you will see above. Ok, I don't doubt the passion, we are football fans and we love our clubs. I would have loved a pitch invasion last season if it meant staying up in the CHAMPIONSHIP. Not scraping a draw mid way through a CCL1 campaign. I am not painting you with the same brush, I think some of your posts have been decent, but my phone has been bombarded with texts from some Leeds fans I know and it is like you are massive club or something, they really are deluded. I must have missed something, last time I checked Leeds were a sub standard CCL 1 club.
