stez Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 i wonder if his mates told him to 'carrrm down' just to complete the stereotype?
Darkzzz_ Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 I am sure more facts will emerge. After all, he is according to Scouse fans, "Big and F******* hard, Steve Gerrard"
Daggers Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 It would probably be best if Liverpool shipped him out straight away to show they are taking a strong line on such things. I feel it would be best if he then spent the rest of his contract rebuilding his tattered reputation on loan at a table-topping Third Division side.

Where would he play? Kingy and Davies are playing well, Oakley has settled into the right midfield. There is no place for Stevie G at us
Uncle Albert Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Happens to all the brilliant footballers. Joey Barton, Marlon King and now Steven Gerrard.
Darkzzz_ Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Happens to all the brilliant footballers. Joey Barton, Marlon King and now Steven Gerrard. I like Barton and Gerrard. King is average in spells. But back to Gerrard, just on SSN that he is still being held, bloody long time really, something serious maybe, in which of course he will buy himself out of I think.

I was messing with Marlon King he is the only other player I can think of do get done for assault in recent months. Max they can have him is for 36 hours and you know what the Police are like they'll probably keep him for 36 hours. The Sergeant there must be an Evertonian.

It made me think if there have been any more arrested in recent times, I couldn't think of any. I wonder if they are making him sit there in an Everton shirt as punishment, I sure he wouldn't mind, wouldn't be the first time he was caught wearing a Everton shirt.

Just found this gives us abit more information. The alleged victim of a nightclub brawl for which footballer Steven Gerrard was arrested is a DJ there, police sources confirmed today. The Liverpool star remains in police custody after the 34-year-old Southport man was taken to hospital with facial injuries. Sources confirmed the man was an employee of the Lounge Inn, in Southport, Merseyside, where the midfielder and five other men were arrested on suspicion of assault in the early hours of today. Gerrard's wife, Alex Curran, left a coffee shop close to the police station where Gerrard was being questioned shortly after 2.30pm. She refused to answer questions from reporters as she walked to her Bentley car and then drove off in the opposite direction from the police station, heading towards Liverpool. The sister of the Lounge Inn co-owner, Dario Curcillo, said the footballer had been in the club to celebrate his team’s win over Newcastle United earlier in the day. She said: “As far as I know he comes here regularly and it was just a normal night at the bar.” She added that her brother was unavailable for comment. Sounds like some div wanting to make a name for himself then.

Nah nothing unusual, the police will use every last second to hold them, He probably hasn't even been questioned yet, he's probably been given his cold pot noodle and a cold cup of tea, and will be questioned sometime tomorrow morning, then say they did have long enough time to question him but be forced to release him on bail.
The Blur Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Good thing Gerrard didn't went to Chelsea.... Blue didn't suit him
Uncle Albert Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 The bloke that Gerrard 'apparently' assaulted has only got a bruises on his face so if 6 lads had apparently laid into him surely he would have more than a few bruises?
Uncle Albert Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Steven Gerrard released from custody after questioning over alleged brawl Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is unlikely to face a Football Association or club charge following his arrest in a Merseyside bar Gerrard - who was released by police at 11.25 last night - has been arrested with five other men after an alleged brawl in a Southport night club, during which a man suffered facial injuries and was taken to hospital. The row allegedly began over the choice of music being played in the bar. The England player, who was thought to be out celebrating his club's 5-1 win over Newcastle on Sunday, is expected to be free to lead his side out to face Preston in the FA Cup next weekend, unless he is rested by manager Rafael Benitez. No other Liverpool players are thought to be among those being interviewed by police. The FA and Liverpool have so far declined to comment but they are expected to treat this as a personal matter for Gerrard. Liverpool lead the Premier League and after scoring two goals against Newcastle, Gerrard said that it was important to deal with the pressures that came with a title challenge. Gerrard has been a key part of Liverpool's push for a first title in almost 20 years, having scored eight Premier League goals this season. He has also been an influential member of Fabio Capello's reinvigorated England side, who have made an unbeaten start to their World Cup qualifying campaign. The midfielder has previously made the headlines over off-the-pitch events. So I guess that's that.

To appear in court, Pointless article To right he shouldn't face FA or Club charges, nothing to do with them, Possibly a club charge for drinking (Presumably he was drinking, during the season depending on their policy over drinking)

Looks like Gerrard was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
