Might have some work doing some gig reviews for Virgin Music so could be going to Hadouken in February...

Poor you.

Hadouken! have to be one of the most over rated bands in the country, they're so violently, woefully shite, it's unreal. Their success is baffling to me.

Meh, they're alright. Put in a good shift when I saw them at Leeds '08, got a decent track or two in them. Tickets would be free though, so can't really complain. Not sure whether I'm doing it yet anyway...

I can think of one listenable song. Seem like a bit of a scenester band to me, style over substance.

Fucking brilliant little venue, that. Big fan of it. Lovely stuff Jeff.

Was my first time there, very like the Charlotte in miniature in term of layout, but a little more customer friendly (easier to get to the bar, easier to see the band).

Midlake were phenomenal. Never been to a gig with so much flute and onstage beardage though. :)

Support act, Sarah Jaffe, was really good too. I'd recommend checking her out. She could knock Ellie Goulding into a cocked hat!

EDIT: Plus REAL glass glasses to drink from! :o

Bar staff are always cool as fork in there, though I'd say I'm biased seeing as I know a couple. :P

Will give the lass a look though seeing as I can only assume it's a serious recommendation.

Empress Ballroom is where it's at... Stunning. It's where it all started commercially for The Stone Roses, and after years of not having the best crop, all the big names are starting to come back.

Enter Shikari playing there after the Blackpool game. Tickets still available check this thread.
