Does Galloway ever lose an arguement? The man's a fact machine. It's unbelievable how much the guy knows about history. Top radio show.

No offence anybody that 'champions' Galloway, really, really has problems. The guy is so 'single minded' and lacks adjectivity!!!

I don't know Doc he seems to have a lot of Abjectivity :P

ab⋅ject - adjective

1. utterly hopeless, miserable, humiliating, or wretched: abject poverty.

2. contemptible; despicable; base-spirited: an abject coward.

3. shamelessly servile; slavish.

4. Obsolete. cast aside.

That was the question that a lot of people asked Mandela before he was arrested by the Aparthied regime....

The Palestinian people have been pushed back into a wall....something myself and 90% of white british men and women would laugh at if it were to happen here.

Lets be honest....they had land taken off them which was decided by parties who had no business deciding it.

Every house in the state has suffered some sort of aggrevances due to the struggle.

They are now second class citizens in Land which was their ancestors homes.

They are, to a large degree, ignored by the western media and the effect the conflict is having on them.....for example the 100 in a house incident reported today...had that been the other way round would it not still be main headlines on all our tv stations?Answer that seriously, one of the most sophisticated armies in the world "forgot" they stuck a 100 people in a "safe house".

I've already mentionned how Hamas were ignored as the democratically elected leaders of Palestine....so for the average Palestinian, democracy does not work...what else are they meant to do in order to be heard?

This isnt a muslim/jew thing...infact not long ago I had a very nice client who was a Palestinian Christian and guess what....He supported Hamas!his argument was atleast with them at the helm we wont be forgotten.

Most of it I agree with you from what knowledge I have. The fact that the palestinians have not been compensated for there loss of land at the formation of Israel has continued for over 50 years of violence. For me, the Palestinians, need to accept that what's done is done, Israel is here to stay.

Now many Palestinian governments and there policies include the destruction of Israel and hence Israel has every right avoid and treat them as an enemy and want to overthrow them, but to stop the Palestinians basic needs is wrong. Palestinians also as a nation has an army, if it has a greivance why not fight Israel's armed forces and why attack there civilians!!

Hamas whether democratically elected or not, every nation has it's own right to who it wants to have relations with and i'm more then happy for Britian to avoid such a disgusting, ill thought bunch of people!! And if Israeli governments have the same policy, the same goes to them also!

Now Israel is on a killing spree, the US need to make it stop, Hamas is not going to finish, the only way is to destroy Palestine.

For me, the realistic outcome is for the Palestinian people to elect a party that is willing to negotiate with Israel and build from there. Throughout history such events have happened and the people have come back stronger to rebuild there lives!!

There are people all over the UK who have grenades and all sorts of other weapons, so if we were being attacked we would have alot of people attacking the enemy and it would be very hard for the government to stop. All sorts of locals would be fighting

I know that and you know that. It is just such a pity we have a government that is so blinkered as to allow it to gather momentum.

Chris Hitchins? Are you mad. That says it all. You probably read the Daily Mail too. And watch Fox News

Oh how brilliant. I've been accused of using biased media sources by somebody who believes that there is some truth in Nazi propaganda (Protocols of the Elders of Zion) and that Press TV is a neutral media source. :frusty:

I'm not sure how you picked up a right wing bias in my own posts, but I should tell you that I cannot stand either the Mail or Fox News. Or any other part of the media that paints such an obviously biased view of the world, left or right wing. I don't need newspapers or the television to tell me how I should think about the world.

I suggest that you watch the Galloway v Hitchens debate again, and think about who is making the best points and who is reduced to tacky insults, points-scoring and encouraging an audience when they react badly to the others' comments. Galloway is an arrogant, one-sided, overgrown playground bully who shows his true colours in this debate.

I should point out that I actually disagree with Hitchens on a number of issues, including his support for the Iraq War, but I respect him a damn sight more than Gormless George.

What enlightening radio shows do Ultra and Bilos listen to then if you're willing to share?

I personally don't listen to any political radio shows but I wouldn't go within a hundred miles of a show presented by an egotistical publicity whore who would rather dress in a leotard and pretend to be a cat than attend Parliament. Check on the House of Commons website, Galloway's attendance record is one of the worst of all MPs.

ABSOLUTELY dg, all this self 'tapping each other on the back' and single lens view is making me

I believe some people on here are passionate about this debate but some parallels and comparison are just ridiculious. Maybe I should bring the 'Islamic' brutualities, genocidal attacks on the people of the indus valley OR on the other hand bring about the British Empiracal abuse on those people.

Either way non of it matters, this problem is unique BUT I will say something, atleast the British has provided a home, a life, treated like there equals to those it's done bad. What have those Islamic people done, feck all, infact my kin work in many Islamic nations, get treated like dirt, pay non islamic taxes and get treated like shit by the courts, basically are second class citizens. Name me one Islamic nation where my kin are treated as an equal!!!

That's funny, I don't hear people complaining when their on holiday in 'Islamic Countries' suchs as: Dubai, Turkey, Egypt, Morocco, Malaysia, Tunisia etc.

I could bring alot of examples of Hinus/Sikhs beating people in India just because their Muslim, but i won't because it's got nothing to do with the current debate.

This is just going round in circles now, people have stated their views. Can't we just drop it now?

Yep, I'm getting that feeling too. :frusty:

Ermm...you just did that, thereby dragging the thread even further into the realms of idiocy.

Was actually replying to Dr The Singh comment on 'Islamic Brutalities', was trying to highlight the fact that i could easily bring up examples of brutalities from all religions but this has got nothing to do with the current debate. End of story, not going to mention it again.

The Islamic people have done alot to take care of all people who live in their lands. Before 1948 Islamic contries were the only place Jews didn't get persecuted by the populations. In Muslim Spain all races lived together in harmony, until the Catholics came in and I think you know what happened then.

The leaders of these countries now are NOT Islamic as I have tried to say a few times. The populations are. What I have tried to say is that the persecution of anyone is these countries comes from the leaders and their brutal police an military who are following orders from regimes who are in the pockets of western governments. Saudi being the obvious example. Who makes those stupid laws that say women can't drive and others? Not the population, the population hate not having their freedoms that we take for granted.

The reason your kin are not treated equal is because of the power the western leaders (who you say treat people fairly) are giving the regimes who rule these places.

I have watched all 12 parts of the debate and I think George won. I think Hitchens is in the lap of the powers that be and has his own reasons for trotting out the official line on things. He bends the truth or uses examples of things that aren't really true (but are being said in our media) and tries to make us think that he really believes what he is saying. I say he is a liar (not in his private life, just in the public arena).

Before that debate he was going up and down the queue outside before it started passing leaflets with claims about George (that have been shown to be nonsense) to anyone who would listen. George refutes all these claims in his infamous day out at the US Senate, where he smashes them to pieces and shows how wrong the people that Hitchens supports are.

:source: Please don't take claims posted on YouTube comments pages to be fact.

I agree he smashed the US Senate and that is about the only time I was willing him on. That was before I grew up and realised that Galloway was just as much a two-faced liar as the people he was attacking. I have also watched all twelve parts of the debate and see an academic with real expert knowledge of the subject taking on a petulant, childish bully who THINKS he has expert knowledge of the subject. Obviously my opinion differs from yours, but I respect your right to that opinion and will not be insinuating that you harbour an strong left-wing bias.

Thats an unfair generalisation, I have worked in many "Islamic" countries and have easily felt equal. The fact is many choose to work in Islamic countries then their own. One thing is for sure many Sikhs are not treated equal by their own people in India, considering India is (lets say within 10 years) a future competitor as a super power its probably quite disgusting.

:appl: :appl: That probably is one of the most intelligent comments made in this thread! The man has done everything possible to stir up racial tension in order to raise votes. His election in bethnal green is a fantastic example of that.

Isn't The Blind Beggar in Bethnal Green?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blind_Beggar

Seems appropriate somehow.....with Galloway being blind to anything but one side of the Palestinian question and constantly begging the limelight for his views.

:appl:

I'm agreeing with everything today what's wrong with me?

I think everyone who's had a point to make has now made it.

Some interesting opinions have been aired and, whether I've personally agreed with them or not, it's clear some people have significant knowledge and passion on this matter. It's been an enlightening debate but, sadly, I feel it's inevitable this conflict will continue for many more years to come. This thread, however - as someone stated earlier - is just going round in circles.
