I used to watch this in about 82 when I was 7 and lie in front of tele taping the sound of the whole programme on one of these:

Then I would go bed and listen to it all again!

Mental or lonely I dont know!

It should have been called 'The Depressing Animals of Farthing Wood'. I know nature is cruel, but hardly an episode went by without one of the characters being devoured by a snake or losing a leg in a gin trap

The Animals of Farthing Wood did have a lot of death related stories, the death of Badger upset me greatly. :(

I think that programme might account for the fact that I'm a bit mental now. I still loved it though, best kids programme ever. Maybe it was the fact that the central characters were a Fox and his missus. Reminded me of Filbert and Vicky the Vixen.

it was all based on real life, in fact i smacked my car into a deer the other day (not on purpose, and it lived)

AQUILA!

YES!

Agreed. Super series.

Get Your Own Back!

DBP, he's the man. Remember the one where he got gunged?

I will not hear a word against the Animals of Farthing Wood. That is all.

Wordy scared me rigid. If you saw something like that in real life, you'd hit it with a hammer, if you didn't shit your pants and collapse in a blubbering, terrified heap in the corner. In the same programme there was sometimes a ghost that was along similar lines but even more terrifying

Depressing, but gripping TV for a four year old.

What was the name of that series where the kid had a Michael Owen poster which came to life? That was terrible.

Anyway, fcuk Dream Team or anything of that nonsense, The Hurricanes was the only football related drama that ever mattered...

The hurricanes was a great program.

Saturday morning used to be great TV, I know we have had this discussion in another thread (not me and you personally) about Live & Kicking etc. Emma Forbes

My favourites were:

Thundercats.

Gummi Bears lol

Dogtanian

Around the World with Willy Fog

Cities of Gold

Count Duckula

Defenders of the Earth

Dungeons and Dragons

To name but a few. The cartoons back then are so much better and more thought of than they are today.
