Phube Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Leicester City 2009 - 2010 Home, Away & Third Fantasy Kits - Nike Replace Nike with Adidas and we have a deal!
Alexikokopops Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 I'll agree with who ever above said "I don't like the badge in the middle".keep it on the left...
Graz Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Leicester City 2009 - 2010 Home, Away & Third Fantasy Kits - Nike Oh fine, just show me up why not.
Lillehamring Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 i don't understand how a blank shirt celebrates 125 years of our club. to have a blank shirt under normal circumstances would be great, but being given the opportunity to do something unique and memorable to leave it blank would be a copout of the highest order. when you're older and showing the grandkids your old city shirts, you're not gonna look at a blank one and say 'ah, 2009, 125 years of LCFC, the year we got promoted for the second consecutive season..." no, it needs to be subtle, but memorable ....and absolutely no slogans
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Is it just me, or would anyone else prefer a shirt with Coca-Cola, Pepsi, McDonalds or any other brand with a big advertising budget that would give us £££'s? The no-sponsor thing is just a PR exercise for Milan and probably just saving face when we'd struggle to find anyone to stump up decent money in today's world.
Finnegan Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Replace Nike with Adidas and we have a deal! I'm gonna knife you.

When you read shit like this you just know the fans vote is going to end in disaster. Our first kit without sponsorship for about 25 years and people would prefer we had McDonalds written on it. How much money do you honestly think any of those companies would pay us?!fooking buttons
billyfox1 Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Leicester City 2009 - 2010 Home, Away & Third Fantasy Kits - Nike I have been converted. Forget all my earlier posts about having the badge in the middle and not having a red away kit. (As long as it's red and blue and not red and white). These look great
Phube Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 You Sir, have taste... I'm gonna knife you. You Sir, do not!
SemperEadem Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Leicester City 2009 - 2010 Home, Away & Third Fantasy Kits - Nike There awesome
Phube Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 There awesome Where? Oh my my name is Phube... Not awesome.

Our first kit without sponsorship for about 25 years and people would prefer we had McDonalds written on it. How much money do you honestly think any of those companies would pay us?!fooking buttons I am well aware we're likely to get very little from any sponsor and that's precisely the reason why Mandaric is contemplating it. I meant that I would rather we were in a position where we were a bit more marketable (i.e. successful) so we didn't have to pull stunts like this. We are not a Barcelona, foregoing large sponsorship sums to promote UNICEF (although I would imagine Nike probably helped ease the pain). If we were lying top of the Championship today and facing the prospect of promotion to the Premiership next season, does anyone really think the club would be doing what they are doing now? Don't get me wrong, it's good for the publicity and I'll support it in principle but I'm too old and cynical to believe it's the goodwill gesture to the fans that LCFC would have us believe.

If we were heading for the premier league the amount of money we'd receive for sponsorship would pale into insignificance with the amount we'd receive from sky and gates. A factor in why villa turned their back on it and why West Brom weren't really that arsed about sorting it out. Who's to say we wouldn't do the same?? Whether or not we'd be having a shirt without a sponsor if Coca-Cola were offering us 5 million is irrelevant. Plenty of other clubs are getting peanuts from sponsors but they're still not forfeiting them. Still a nice gesture.
Guest Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Where? Oh my my name is Phube... Not awesome. And we're into spelling and grammar territory once again.
billyfox1 Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 A nice big pair of TITS. Just send your avatar to Milan and we're sorted.

A shirt with nothing on it is a lot better than a Fosse Gold shirt to WOW them. Have you got any suggestions? To me having no sponsor on the shirt, a throw back to the first 99 years of our history, is more fitting than something plastered over the front.

I suggest Akinbiyi Amber
Jordan Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 If the club wants us to celebrate its history, let's choose to keep the front of the shirt blank, like it has been for about 80% of the club's lifetime. A small "125 Years/1884-2009" under the club logo will suffice.
