Ashley Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 I hope we go back to having white home shorts. I know I didnt use white shorts on the Adidas kits, I can change them tho.
Lillehamring Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Judging by the big 120th Anniversary celebrations we had the pleasure of five years ago there's going be a lot more opportunities for gimmicks before I have grandkids. A shirt with nothing on it is a lot better than a Fosse Gold shirt to WOW them. Have you got any suggestions? To me having no sponsor on the shirt, a throw back to the first 99 years of our history, is more fitting than something plastered over the front. well, 120 years ain't no quarter century landmark ... but i did say something subtle, it could still be advert free without being completely blank, i kinda like the idea of the dates, something to distinguish the year... people saying 'nothing' or 'blank' seem to be missing the point, and implying just having the current badge and nothing more, any other fans will just look at our kit and think 'fucking gypos, can't even get a sponsor'... 'boy, those chaps are proud of their heritage' let's save that for just 'any old season'.... a nicely woven gold and white 'L.C.F.C - 1884-2009' would be classy, distinguished and poignant. so other fans think 'boy, those chaps are proud of their heritage'
Alexikokopops Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 well, 120 years ain't no quarter century landmark ... but i did say something subtle, it could still be advert free without being completely blank, i kinda like the idea of the dates, something to distinguish the year... people saying 'nothing' or 'blank' seem to be missing the point, and implying just having the current badge and nothing more, any other fans will just look at our kit and think 'fucking gypos, can't even get a sponsor'... I've definitely seen it a fair few times. I was assuming that kind of thing when I've been posting anyway. I just don't want something big splashed across the middle.

We're so used to seeing some kind of sponsor that shirts just look a bit odd without them now to be honest.
Babylon Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 well, 120 years ain't no quarter century landmark No it's a 1/5th century landmark.... is there really any difference? people saying 'nothing' or 'blank' seem to be missing the point, and implying just having the current badge and nothing more, any other fans will just look at our kit and think 'fucking gypos, can't even get a sponsor'... 'boy, those chaps are proud of their heritage' I don't think they are missing the point, I think you are missing their point. I'd imagine those saying nothing, want the shirt to have some kind of retro look. To celebrate how the shirts use to be before the days of selling our souls to advertisers. a nicely woven gold and white 'L.C.F.C - 1884-2009' would be classy, distinguished and poignant. so other fans think 'boy, those chaps are proud of their heritage' Small an under the badge no problem... large on the front that would look cack. If you wanted a date large you'd only get away with something like "1884"... but people would think Kronenbourg were our sponsors.
Guest Bilo Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Although not all of us have the same opinion as to how the shirt should look, the move certainly seems to have captured people's imaginations. This is the 156th post today so people are clearly interested in having a say. Good move Milan.
Little Nicky Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Leicester City 2009 - 2010 Home & Away Fantasy Kits - Adidas Leicester City 2009 - 2010 Home & Away Fantasy Kits - Adidas I'm all for having it blank, but I'm quite liking Rainbows on seeing your design! As long as it's not a stupid slogan then that's fine with me!
Guest Bilo Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Leicester City 2009 - 2010 Home & Away Fantasy Kits - Adidas Change the home shorts to white and that is perfection so far as I'm concerned.
Webbo Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 How about the 2 previous badges either side of the current badge?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 I'm probably way off but wasn't one of the early home / away strips half sky blue, half mauve / claret? Would like to see something like that (as an away kit), would be quite interesting.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Yeah, Ricey designed one like that1886-1890 That's it. That could be quite effective if done well.
MC Prussian Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Leicester City 2009 - 2010 Home, Away & Third Fantasy Kits - Nike I think we have a winner here - although an all-black third away kit is debatable. Would use an all-white for the away and the red as the third. Good effort, though!
Wooly Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Leicester City 2009 - 2010 Home & Away Fantasy Kits - Adidas Absolutely outstanding. I'd like a white away shirt to be honest. Identical to the home but reverse the blue/white.
Fosse Boy Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Am I the only one that likes West Brom's shirt this season? I really like the old retro shirts with no sponsor and a badge at the side. Lets just remake this shirt Nope I think it looks lovely too. Sponsors can look so hideous, especially on a striped shirt like West Brom's. If we were heading for the premier league the amount of money we'd receive for sponsorship would pale into insignificance with the amount we'd receive from sky and gates. A factor in why villa turned their back on it and why West Brom weren't really that arsed about sorting it out. Who's to say we wouldn't do the same??Whether or not we'd be having a shirt without a sponsor if Coca-Cola were offering us 5 million is irrelevant. Plenty of other clubs are getting peanuts from sponsors but they're still not forfeiting them. Still a nice gesture. Judging by the big 120th Anniversary celebrations we had the pleasure of five years ago there's going be a lot more opportunities for gimmicks before I have grandkids. Ashley Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Thankyou guys, i'll make some more plain kits, ones with LOROS on and ones with Rainbows on

Koke Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 We should go West Brom style and leave it blank. I love their shirts and is a throwback to the good old days.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Ah, spotted that earlier, my monitor is so dark though that it looks half black. But yeah, that's the one.
