Wilbur Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Does anyone know for sure if any pubs in/around the city center will be showing the City match as opposed to the scousers tonight? Can just seem me going to my usual haunts and being confronted by a load of plastic Liverpool fans and missing kick-off! Sorry if this is in the wrong place Thanks in advance
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Pump and Tap on Braunstone Gate. That is a great name for a pub
Wilbur Posted 19 January 2009 Author Posted 19 January 2009 Pump and Tap on Braunstone Gate. Excellent - I was hoping that was the case Great pub and a stone's throw from home Cheers
stez Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 That is a great name for a pub it's a great pub (or was when i last went in there; 1992) i heard it's shutting down. is that true, or must it be false?
Bert Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 it's a great pub (or was when i last went in there; 1992) i heard it's shutting down. is that true, or must it be false? Not as far as I know. They've been trying to do something to the bridge though, that runs by it.

They want to raize the whole area and build an ultra modern gym. Last I heard planning had been granted but the fight to keep it open is ongoing. Petitions have been handed to the courts with 1000s of signatures. If they get their own way it'll be a great shame and will be of detriment to the city.
Uncle Monty Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Anyone know anywhere in Cardiff that will be showing the game?
fox123 Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 I think the Pump 'N' Tap is severely under-rated, it's a great pub. The people are really friendly and can generate some great atmosphere.

I concur, I hadn't been in there in ages until a couple of months ago, now i think its my favourite pub. They do an excellent two course Sunday lunch for a fiver and for those of you of a nicoteen disposition the smoking area under the arch is great, there's a big TV out there showing the footy a fish tank and loads of heaters.
Phube Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 My front room *needs to find herbal-tea drinking emoticon*
Manwell Pablo Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Nowhere round here. They're all showing the Liverpool Derby, which is odd, as I live in Leicestershire not Liverpool.
Ross-Kemp Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Heading up to Rack and Roll in town, they best be showing it
NewquayFox Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 The Lanherne down here in sunny Newquay, quite a few City fans going. Everywhere else is showing the Scally game.
potter3 Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Nowhere round here. They're all showing the Liverpool Derby, which is odd, as I live in Leicestershire not Liverpool. Why don't you head over to the 3 crowns
Jordan Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 No American stations have picked this game up. I'll be watching at Jordan's bedroom pub.
Rodderz Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 I Am off down rack n roll on belgrave gate they have got a big old school screen better than shite plasmas.

Wilbur Posted 19 January 2009 Author Posted 19 January 2009 Went to the Pump and sat in the beer garden all evening and it was packed. Tthe only slight disappointment was tha the TV was a little quiet. Good atmosphere, though Will definitely watch City (away) matches there agian, let's hope they don't tear it down!
