Uncle Albert Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Big respect to the lad now. Man City can suckout.
JakeShingler Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Big respect to the lad now. Man City can suckout. Agreed twats.
Samilktray Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Gutted really. Would of loved him in the Prem, cant see it happening now.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Would've liked to see him play over here. Don't agree witht the whole money issue, but it would've been great.
Simi Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Bet all the soft Mancs will be gutted having probably camped out for the weekend wearing tea towells on their heads, all for rejection. Take your monoply money elsewhere.
Uncle Albert Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 To cap it off Man City are busting out £14 million for Craig Bellamy! Hahaha, West Ham must think 09's Xmas has come very, very early. Brilliant stuff. You can see where Kaka is coming from - No chance off Champs League football and there is no certainty they will qualify for the UEFA Cup.
Finnegan Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 In all fairness, I've read just as many City fans voice their concerns for the move as hope it happens. I agree with what's been said a lot on the telly, really, I'm sure Hughes (and mostly everyone) would rather the team you could buy for that amount of money than just Kaka.
Nationwider Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 A massive embarrassment for City. This is a huge bloody nose for them. They desperately want more trophy signings to put down their marker to the world. Now Kaka's said no, they will presumably have further problems attacting the best in the world in the short-term. Their conduct has been pretty shit really. Apart from the arrogance of trying to sign Kaka in the first place, it was farcical the way they tried to open up discussions under the pretence of bidding for other players. Hughes just looks like a stooge now. It's obvious he has little or no input in the bigger picture. I hope they just end up with Bellamy and some money-grabbing jobber like Edgar Davids from this transfer window.
lavrentis Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 One one hand I am glad that Kaka didn't go only because of the money but on the other, it would have been nice to see him on MOTD week in week out.
Ultra Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 I'm not sure the move was ever really on. Would have been a massive backward step for Kaka, no matter how many financial inducements he'd have been offered.
Finnegan Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 I just think it's a huge, huge, HUGE misjudgement of characters. I'm not the Manwell Pablo of the forum, I'm not the know-it-all of world football. But even I know Kaka's a born-again Jesus freak and probably the last superstar you'd manage to tempt with silly money. He's no Robinho. I'm sure had they gone for the Ronaldinhos of this world they'd have had far more luck. If they want to use money to attract people already earning unthinkable amounts then they're going to have to tempt real playboys.
Uncle Albert Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 I'm not sure the move was ever really on.Would have been a massive backward step for Kaka, no matter how many financial inducements he'd have been offered. The move was on because their gaffer came out and said the bid was accepted and he had no choice in the matter, like Finners has said Kaka is not tempted by the moolah involved so there was no other possible way to tempt him to Eastlands.
Shrenchel Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 It makes them look a bit like mugs that they sign craig fooking bellamy on the same day kaka rejects them but I don't think it was all bad for them. They got closer to signing kaka that any other team has, showed they got some major clout. Here in spain suddenly everyone has heard of them and is talking about them like they're a really big club. That's gunna help when they're trying to attract other players.
Finnegan Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 At the end of the day, when you've that many benjamins I don't think their reputation counts. I doubt the Sheihk of Dubai is exactly blushing right now. They can just turn around and throw 50m at someone else over the value and you'll have forgotten about Kaka in a few weeks.

"tricky trev to sign at middle eastlands tomorrow"
Nationwider Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 "Craig Who? Bellamy? Pilot, turn the plane around please."
Lovejoy Posted 19 January 2009 Posted 19 January 2009 Massive respect to Kaka. A lot has been made of how it's embarrassing for City, but how good to see a footballer who doesn't just think of $$$. I know he's religeous, and has come from a very well off background, but even so, fair play for putting football first .
Tilley Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Massive respect to Kaka. A lot has been made of how it's embarrassing for City, but how good to see a footballer who doesn't just think of $$$. I know he's religeous, and has come from a very well off background, but even so, fair play for putting football first . Agree completely. Kaka has shown respect to everyone connected to AC Milan, put his career before money, which alot of other footballers would have moved for (Robinho..) The bloke has come out of this with his dignity intact & has shown his qualities not just as a footballer, but as a man too, fair play to him.
Darkzzz_ Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Very pleased with this news. I think it is great for football. Kaka has shown it is not all about the money and has listened to his heart, he loves the club and loves the City. I hope he goes on to achieve more success at Milan.
purpleronnie Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 I wish more footballers saw money as not the be all and end all. Defoe? All this talk of money is a little odd though he makes £150,000 a week at milan plus £300,000+ a week on sponsership. £450,000 a week aint bad is it? Would have been amazed if he swapped AC Milan for Man City. Other than a little more money why would he move?
Guest Bilo Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 Huge respect for Kaka if the rumours regarding the amount of wages being offered were true. Nice to see that there are still some footballers who have loyalty to their club, and aren't just blinded by the money. If this keeps happening, expect the Sheikhs to become very bored with their new toy very quickly.
GLC Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 I can't believe Man City paid West Ham 14 million for Bellamy
Finnegan Posted 20 January 2009 Posted 20 January 2009 I think Defoe is a tiny bit hard done to. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a bit of a money grabber, but he clearly went to Pompey to get first team football but I think you'll find he likes Spurs and never really wanted to go. It doesn't surprise me that he's gone back, at all. Especially given it's for Harry.
