lookwhaticando Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 Maybe we could use him as part-exchange? Excellent idea. I've got my eye on a new BMW.
Rise Against Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 I don't sure if recell him, but we have to give him one more chance to show that he is good enough. He is really impressive in his last Blackpool games, i say let's give him a chance.

Rise Against Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 No we dont! He doesnt want to come back He doesn't want to ? So let's sell him right now, why are we talking about him if he don't wanna come anwyay?
Leicfox Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 Get rid, paying a wage (which i would imagine is alot, as ive heard Blackpool won't be signing him unless he take a massive pay cut) is pure madness.
Brainy Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 He doesn't want to ? So let's sell him right now, why are we talking about him if he don't wanna come anwyay? maddog
lou Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 He doesn't want to ? So let's sell him right now, why are we talking about him if he don't wanna come anwyay? Thats a very good question
Jimmy Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 He doesn't want to ? So let's sell him right now, why are we talking about him if he don't wanna come anwyay? Because Maddog uses a collage of his pictures as his wankmag
Rise Against Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 Because Maddog uses a collage of his pictures as his wankmag Fair reason for me.
maddog Posted 3 May 2009 Author Posted 3 May 2009 It would be madness not to try and persuade him to stay. Who cares what he said, he may change his mind if NP promises him regular games. With Hayles gone, and Chambers (going out on loan) according to knowitall, then all we have left is Fryatt, Dickov and Howard. Who do you suggest we sign then, who would be a better option than Dj with 9 goals in 20 games to his name at a below average Championship club, WHO All we have is Fryatt, Dickov and Howard. Add Dj in there and it's a lot more appealing. Even if Djs wages are 15k a week that equates to about 750k a year, which is less than half of what we will have to pay for a decent striker. Plus the new strikers wages which will probably be at least half of Djs if we sign him for £1.5m+ Unless anyone has any suggestions of a striker we could sign realistically for £1m or less of course, who could score a goal every 2 games like Dj has this season.
Jimmy Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 why does it have to be for £1m or less, lets face it Campbell's transfer is potentially worth double that, more to the point he doesn't want to be here, why should NP have to promise him ANYTHING to get him to stay? we WILL sign strikers this summer, hopefully Lambert and Cox but if not them someone cheaper (in terms of wages) and better then D. J. "I'm too good for Leicester" Campbell, hell anyone who knows the offside rule is already up on the petulant little twat
Brainy Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 Who do you suggest we sign then, who would be a better option than Dj with 9 goals in 20 games to his name at a below average Championship club, WHO Alan Lee David McGoldrick Marek Saganowski
Guest Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 It would be madness not to try and persuade him to stay. Other than that one word it was the correct sentiment
maddog Posted 3 May 2009 Author Posted 3 May 2009 Alan LeeDavid McGoldrick Marek Saganowski What if we can't sign those 3 players, and other clubs sign the League One crew? Whos left then. I hope a new striker signing is announced soon. Please Nigel, o please please Nigel. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Corky Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 What if we can't sign those 3 players, and other clubs sign the League One crew?Whos left then. I hope a new striker signing is announced soon. Please Nigel, o please please Nigel. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. We have three months until the season starts. Stop bloody panicking you idiot.
Jimmy Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 someone give maddog a short term ban before he has an coronary, the season is only just don't and he's panicking about the lack of strikers coming in
Mort Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 Alan LeeDavid McGoldrick Marek Saganowski ...can't see the point in keeping DJ, but Saganowski isnt the answer. Despite the exotic name a a good loan spell at Saints two years ago, he's not very good.

Please Nigel, o please please Nigel. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. The transfer window doesn't open until July. It wont be announced till July 1st if we do bring someone in tbh. Didn't we announce 3 signings on july 1st last year? Could be wrong tho
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 To be fair to Maddog, you see what DJ's done at Blackpool, and you have to think that if he could do that for us that would be tasty. (Didn't we sign Dickov this season on the back of some good Blackpool form the season before.) The question is whether DJ would do that for us next season, and the answer is most likely a 'no.' Our fans wouldn't give him the chance to shine anyway, he doesn't seem as though he is as strong minded as Stevie Howard or Matty Fryatt who have managed to turn around their lack of confidence to prove something to our own fans. (With thanks to Nige of course.) HOWEVER - chances are we're going to need four strikers at least in the Championship in order to keep the side fresh, so even if we did sign one of Lambert / Cox / Beckford (DJ Mark 2 - why?) that would leave us with Dickov / DJ as 4th choice. Who would you rather have - neither I hear everyone shout at their computer! Well we shall see - maybe there's time for a random jem from no-where to be found!

Joe. Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 He might have done alright at Blackpool, but I bet 6 out of those 9 goals were penalties.
bluebeau Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Michael Chopra anyone? Not sure about his status at present? I think he is still registered with Sunderland, but obviously not wanted by the football club. This guy can score goals given service by those around him.
