Jimmy Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 he has publically said he wants to leave, to me that's the end of the issue he doesn't want to be here so get rid
maddog Posted 3 February 2009 Author Posted 3 February 2009 The poll doesn't make sense anyway. If one of the top posters (celebs) on here made a poll, that did make sense, but there was a tiny loophole in it, no one would point it out. Because i made this poll you pointed it out.
RAFRUDY Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 IF we do decide to sell him it better be for at least the 2 million we payed for him. Im sick of teams getting OUR players on the cheap. RANT OVER.

RANT OVER. we haven't paid £2m for him, that was depending of clauses and getting promoted to the Prem last season
Asha Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 we haven't paid £2m for him, that was depending of clauses and getting promoted to the Prem last season What was the basic fee? Just under that wasn't it...1.6m or something? Still a waste
Jimmy Posted 3 February 2009 Posted 3 February 2009 What was the basic fee? Just under that wasn't it...1.6m or something?Still a waste about that I think, which was still way too much for him
kimsalabim Posted 19 April 2009 Posted 19 April 2009 Having said that, I did see someone walking down to the Walkers at the last match with 'Howardinho' on his city shirt You sure did... That would have been me!!!
The Doctor Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 hes got the ability to cut it in the championship no question but hes been poor for city and i think we should consider any offers we recieve for him.
Guest Posted 20 April 2009 Posted 20 April 2009 You sure did... That would have been me!!! Quality That made me smile
maddog Posted 3 May 2009 Author Posted 3 May 2009 We MUST try and keep this guy. The fact is he's scored 9 goals in 20 appearences at a stuggling Championship side at Blackpool, and we need him for next season. He is the only proven Championship scorer we have, we are all talking of Cox, Lambert, etc, both would be very risky signings, would cost at least £1m each and could massively backfire. We won't have to pay a penny to keep a proven Championship scorer though. He has hardly been given a chance at Leicester. I know he said he doesn't want to stay but i would it if Pearson could persuade him to stay, i'm pretty certain NP will try, and it would dramatically reduce risk for next season. Whats the point in gambling £1-3m on Cox, Lambert, Beckford, Mclean, etc when we already have a young pacy player who has bagged 9 goals at a struggling side. I can't see Fryatt or Howard having that good a goal ratio with us next season, they didn't last season, Howard, Dickov, Hayles are all over the hill for the Championship now. Please Pearson lets try and keep Dj, a lot of fans don't like him, but he could be critical for us next season. There aren't many better options than Dj out there for next season, and the ones that COULD be will cost £xm.
Jimmy Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 a lot of his goals were pens, which he wouldn't get to take here, he's hardly a proven championship player either, I'd rather give a confident Fryatt another chance, and I don't think he's good enough for the Championship either

Bert Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 "I don't want to go back to Leicester though – anything apart from that." The player doesn't even want to be here, we're better off without.
MarkDeVries Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 My scrotum would play better in a City shirt than DJ.
Ultra Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 The player doesn't even want to be here, we're better off without. This. He clearly doesn't get on with the rest of the team, so it's best if we get rid. Maybe we could use him as part-exchange?
C-man Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 Why on earth MUST we try to keep a player who does not want to play for us, is generally absolutely wank, and is on wages which make several Premiership players look poor?

So the £1.6 million plus add-ons was money well-spent in your opinion then? Isn't Howard a proven Championship scorer, and with two clubs as well?
purpleronnie Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 I said at the time he was over rated nothing has changed. Hopefully he'll stay away.
lou Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 I would have been willing to give him a chance next season BUT he then went and made the comments about City that he did so I wouldnt have him back now if he was the last player on earth.
