SamL Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Key moment in the match, Chanderpaul is out. Some good bowling by Broad.
Joe. Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Getting interesting now Chanderpaul's gone. Only the one referral left too. Bit of a collapse for the Windies...
Milky Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Getting interesting now Chanderpaul's gone. Only the one referral left too. Bit of a collapse for the Windies... shock
Fosse Boy Posted 6 February 2009 Author Posted 6 February 2009 271-5 at tea. That was definitely England's session. Still, only Broady looked genuinely dangerous I thought.
Uncle Albert Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Monty's got one. Ramdin gone for 35. Big wicket.
Joe. Posted 6 February 2009 Posted 6 February 2009 Should be able to keep this to a decent level now. Hopefully Nash starts trying to play some bigger shots and we'll start to see some cracks appear. Nice to see Jerome Taylor involved, even better if Broad gets his wicket!
Fosse Boy Posted 6 February 2009 Author Posted 6 February 2009 Bit of aggro going on in the stands. My money's on the guy in the Red Stripe cap personally.
martyn Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 Bet KP wishes he could accasionally go in at 150-2....useless batting yet again.
surrifox Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 perhaps some of the emotionally incontinent posters reacting to a 0-0 against a tough and well motivated Oldham side should spend some time watching the collection of wankers masquerading as an international XI. If Bell and Panesar feature again in this series the only conclusion I can reach is that the selectors are taking the piss
martyn Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 To be honest, you could make a strong case to drop 5 of the side Cook Bell Collingwood Harmison Panesar
surrifox Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 To be honest, you could make a strong case to drop 5 of the sideCook Bell Collingwood Harmison Panesar yes except that Collingwood and Cook have looked the part in the last year, and scored matchwinning runs . The selectors should know that Harmison shouldn't be selected for any cricket played outside Durham whilst in all aspects of his game Panesar looks at best a club second xi player- no conditions anywhere in the world appear suited to his bland unthreatening trundling. Bell must be living off some performance or other can't bring it to mind though- he looks like a boy amongst men and his game hasn't improved in 4 years- hard to believe he has been virtually ever present at no 3 - he only ever scores runs when there is nothing much at stake on the game or when everyone else is filling their boots- how could Shah or Rashid do a worse job than these 2 muppets?
Joe. Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 What an incredibly embarassing performance. Can we just forfeit the Ashes now please, and save further shame?
SamL Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 Embarrassing. On a more positive side, well done to Broad who reached his first 5 wicket haul in test matches.
Brainy Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 They're all a complete disgrace. It's a shame it's taken such an embarrasing collapse for the selectors/captain/coach to realise that changes need to be made.
martyn Posted 7 February 2009 Posted 7 February 2009 Cook looked the part?? He has no idea with good length balls outside his off stump which is a major techical flaw. He also has the Ian Bell syndrome of getting to 50 then getting out. He surely cant be averaging any more than 35 this past year. Edit, Just done a check on Averages the past calendar year: Cook 33.13, Bell 35.40 (including 199 v South Africa), Collingwood 36.27
Fosse Boy Posted 7 February 2009 Author Posted 7 February 2009 Shit. Truly shit. Taylor and Benn bowled well but we should never have got out for that total. No doubt the ECB will blame our bowlers again and not our batsmen, as is always the case.
