Cardiff because they are Welsh and so anti English its unreal. And Celtic not Rangers because Rangers are the UK side of Glasgow which as we are part of UK I would expect more to dislike Celtic than Rangers. If we were in Ireland it would be the other way round.

:dunno:

But we're not from Scotland. And trust me, there's plenty of people on Foxes Talk that would love to distance themselves as far as possible from Rangers and the seedier members of their support. Celtic's hardcore fanbase might be known for pro-Irish Independence but at least they aren't known to be BNP and National Front supporting racist cunts. I'm not narrow minded enough to tar all Rangers fans with the same brush - but by God I'd rather spend my life in the company of the Bhoys than an hour with some of those clowns.

And Cardiff are just what happens when a Welsh club play their football in England. It's like me, really, I'd never really have given much of a shit about being Welsh if I hadn't been brought up in England. Being surrounded by piss takers there's sort of two ways you can go, you can either try and fake being English to try and fit in or you can refuse to be bullied and take a bit of pride in where you're from. Nought wrong with that. I reckon Cardiff are healthy for the sport.

Not all Rangers fans are racist BNP members, they're just proud to be fooking BRITISH, like Celtic fans are proud to pretend they're from Ireland.

This country has gone mad, you can't even proud to be British without someone calling you a racist or a BNP skin head.

Just reinforced there for those of us with lacking reading comprehension.

Db's just nailed it. Stoke, how could I forget them wankers?

Because they're probably the most boring, nothing, forgetable club from the most boring, nothing, forgetable town in the country?

I mean I know we don't have all that much to be proud of - but by God I'd find it even less inspiring to be a Stoke fan (or to be from Stoke.)

You're just using things your heard. Have you ever met Rangers fans before ?

Celtic fans were wankers when they came down here.

Why would people hate Leeds and Liverpool over Chelsea. Sure Leeds fans have been wankers this season ala Waccoe but, there isn't the same animosity with Leeds or Liverpool that we have always had with Chelsea over the years. I understand that we are in lower leagues but you can't say after one season of banter/idiotic behaviour from Leeds you have a real passion to beat... For instance, if Leicester were through to the FA Cup final, and Leeds and Chelsea were in the Semis to play us, I am sure majority would want us to play and beat Chelsea in the Final, what ever league Chelsea were in.

Aye lad. Lived with both, actually. Quite a few Scots and Paddies around where I used to live. One of my best friends was a Gers fan and would tell you the same about the darker side of Rangers, lad was ashamed of it.

I'll leave talking out of the arse'ole to you, Ash, you do a better job of it than me.

:dunno: In my lifetime I don't remember being down Filbert Street or the Walkers and hearing 'town full of pakis' from Chelsea fans or Liverpool fans? As far as I'm aware, any animosity with Chelsea was a bit of a brief fling in the 60s/70s/80s? A shout back to the days of firms? Something that seems to have been mostly forgotten now. Chelsea don't give a shit about us and a lot of City fans don't really remember the days we used to give a shit about them, me included.

I dislike them for the obvious money related reasons but I've no real reason to pretend there's any rivalry still there that matters.

My problem with Leeds fans is the same problem I have with a number of clubs (Rangers included, Ash) - inherent racism in more than just a miniscule percent of their support.

Been plenty of times down Filbert Street where Chelsea have sung that. I don't know if it is just me, but when you go into town, when your team is playing another team and there could be trouble, there is always a hint of atmosphere in the air. I felt that a number of times when Chelsea have come to town, and maybe it does stem from previous decades, the fact is, there is something there to have. Playing the racist card from Leeds is just banter, Chelsea was far more deeper than that, the fact they mention us in one of their anthems is testimony to that.

I remember being shit scared at a Chelsea match in SK1 at Filbo. Didn't enjoy it at all, looking back, i'd have probably loved it now. lol

Can't remember what year that was, although I do recall singing Thankyou very much for Muzzy Izzet a lot :giggle:

Yea thats your feeling and fair enough. Especially if you grew up around that Cov and Wolves fans.

Not for me its not though as I live right in the middle of Leicester and Nottingham so there are alot of Forest fans around where I live. 14 miles to Leicester I think and 14 miles to Nottingham from Barrow.

Well that's exactly why we were saying it's a geographical thing, people you live closer too and therefore come into contact with more. Hardly know any Forest/Derby fans but loads of Cov fans. You can't say it's not one of our proper rivalries because they are West Midlands, only about half an hour away down 1 road to Cov. Plus it's always nicer to have a rivalry with a team that doesn't like you back ;)

Personally I despise ManUre. Everybody who likes to pretend to be a football fan but has never been to a match supports them. I hate it when they take the piss out of us because we've lost and they've won, as if they've got any emotional connection to their club. Just a bunch of glory hunting w@nkers.

I hate the way Ferguson and his players think they can intimidate the ref and the way their braindead fans think they're always in the right. W@nkers, w@nkers, w@nkers!!!

I also dislike Spurs and Cov but to a lesser extent. I'm indifferent to Forest and Derby.

It was tricky at first... but after a long deliberation... I plumbed for....

Arsénal!! :o

Shocking I know!

Forest were a close second though!

I cannot believe Cov are winnning this, they may be a sad deluded bunch of pikey scum but rivals? Let them think that.....The difference in our turnout at Forest and Cov last season was unreal, everyone wanted to be at Forest. Cov's just a teddy bears picnic, if thats a rivalry then fu ck me.

Went for Derby after much thought, but special mentions to Leeds, MK Dons and Liverpool

that was less than 100 fans

Forest and Cov are irritants.

But Millwall are a vile club with vile fans.

They're a cancer on the game. The sooner they go bust, the better.

bit of a stupid over the top statement - forgetting the trouble i've always had a bit of admiration for wall all the moaning on here about atmosphere 'we need to move the kop' etc Millwall will never have that problem because they haven't been turned into a happy clappy family club.

Personally I hate Celtic more than any other team in the world everything they stand for i despise

Posted
 why??

I'm not sure to be honest, I think it's because we're there boggie team, it was before christmas I watched it.

What a ridiculous thing to say.

They have vile fans, so do most clubs.

But im fairly sure they have fans that are a normal set of bunch.

But yeah because some of their fans and the media have given them a bad, They are cancer.

Was that the Cup match in about 97 when all the trouble kicked off after Chelsea took the lead?

We always had problems when Chelsea came to Filbert St, though that sticks in my mind.

Okay then, I give in. Tell me exactly what it is that Glasgow Celtic stand for that an Englishman from the very South of the country despises the most?

And the only time I remember problems from Chelsea was a game in the late nineties I think when they had a bunch of Combat 18 sat in the Kop?

Posted
that was less than 100 fans

Yeah I was comparing the type of fans.

Can't be arsed to go into too much detail as someone will quickly challenge and I frankly don't gave the time but: forest was mostly full of the 16-35 bracket, not much colour and everyone stood. Cov was families, daytrippers and a max of 200 actually seemed intent on getting behind the team.

there you go thats why i hate them http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOwqWQS8oRY...feature=related i know there is sectarianism the other way im not gonna pretend there isnt but personally i have sympathies with Ulster Unionists (not in an ignorant hooligan way, NI was a big part of my degree), at least at Rangers games there are British and Scottish flags at Celtic park you wont see one Scottish flag just Irish.

Posted

There are exactly the same videos the other way of the Rangers fans though, I don't get it.

Some of FT's regulars might think I come across as pretty anti-English and pro-Scots/Welsh/Irish independence but I actually quite dislike both sides of the Old Firm in that context. I've bias towards Celtic but it's nothing to do with Northern Ireland and I really resent the sectarianism from both sides of the fence.

I've seen Celtic fans waving the St. Andrew's cross and a whole shitload of Northern Irish flags and Union Jacks being branded at Ibrox. You cannot demonize one side of the Old Firm without doing so to both when the issue in question is NI and sectarian abuse.

However if the Celtic's hardline support are happy to get on board with anti-facism and the jack-wavers across the City are willing to embrace British nationalism? Pft. I know with whom I'd rather be standing, that's all I'm saying.

And once again, I'd like to point out I by no means want to tar all Rangers fans with the same brush or endorse Scots football being a breeding ground for hateful Northern Irish politics. I just, as a decent, open minded human being, find it far harder to sympathis with the blue half than the green, frankly.
