Matt Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 ...What is their obsession with manager or coach interviews halfway through the first half? Fook off and your shite coverage. I know the other option is to simply not watch ITV Coverage but there are no other games on and nothing else decent on tv.

That gave me great insight into the game that I couldn't possibly have worked out by myself. 'How do you think you're doing?' 'Not well...' 'Was that a penalty?' 'I don't know' Fantastic stuff.
Matt Posted 15 February 2009 Author Posted 15 February 2009 Lets give ITV some credit today though one plus being - No David Pleat commentating. None of the ITV commentators are brilliant but David Pleat is the worst.
Ultra Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Another fcuk up today, to add to their collection for the season. The FA must soon look at whether their contract can be reviewed.
welck12 Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 All they need to do to turn it around is bring back Ron Atkinson, cant beat a bit of ronglish during games.... And just to add a little bit of spice to the broadcast they should then bring in desailly
The Stig Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 For me they didn't do anything wrong this weekend. I have to say if the BBC did a lot of things that ITV have done this season there'd be no where near the up-roar. If the BBC had decided to interview someone half way through a game I doubt we'd see a whole new thread on it. Plus their coverage of the first and second rounds put the BBC's to shame. They covered more matches for longer than the beeb last year and we got a highlights show at a good time, not after the Prem highlights on MOTD. They've made mistakes this season, but people will pick on them just because they're not the BBC. For example, the BBC made a huge cock up while covering the Milan derby last night in terms of the commentary being out of sync for half the match. Yet I've not found a single news report on it today. If it were ITV, the Daily Mail would pounce up on it.
Collymore Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Did anyone notice the two Sky commentators on the oldham match give each other some shit? One was like "you were a good player in your day " and the other was like "fook off will you " and the other was like "I pay you a compliment and you bite my head off " It was dead serious, they weren't joking. On the subject though, ITV's coverage is a complete disgrace. The championship must be one of the worst produced programs ever. Why do they always show extended highlights of games that have already been shown live? The first match always takes up half of the program even if it's a dull 0-0 Also that matt Smith should be shot Sky in general are leaps and bounds above the rest - their professionalism is normally top notch, their camera angles are normally art work. ITV should take note.

Course they were joking it's not the first time those two have had a laugh with each other! On the subject though, ITV's coverage is a complete disgrace. The championship must be one of the worst produced programs ever. Why do they always show extended highlights of games that have already been shown live? The first match always takes up half of the program even if it's a dull 0-0 Featured matches are chosen prior to the weekend Also that matt Smith should be shot The worst highlights presenter in football, good on live games though Sky in general are leaps and bounds above the rest - their professionalism is normally top notch, their camera angles are normally art work. ITV should take note. Agreed although Richard Keys is a boring presenter
Darkzzz_ Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 It is safe to say I am not ITV's biggest fan.
Corky Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 At least we saw the goals live yesterday. That's a plus.
Number 6 Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Some coverages now seem to fit in as many interviews as possible. Interviews at half time annoyed me and now half-way through a half is taking it a bit too far. Leave them alone until the end guys!
GLC Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 At least we saw the goals live yesterday. That's a plus. i saw the goals live last time
StanSP Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 I can't wait to see us on BBC next year. Going on the thoughts that we will get promoted, next season is when BBC takes over Football League rights for 3 (?) seasons. I think they get to have 10 live games over one season - I hope that we are one of them!

I'm sure Gary will get us slotted in there at some point This is actually news to me that BBC have got FL rights next season for 3 seasons, Good News As for the comments on BBC's commentary being out of sync for last nights game, look in the Milan Derby thread, plenty of people mentioned it, they didn't exactly slag them off but alot of comments were "Sort it out BBC".

Quality news though hopefully a motd style program with no adverts.
Ultra Posted 16 February 2009 Posted 16 February 2009 Robbie Earle is the worst pundit ever Not quite, at least while Pleat and Lawro are still around. In an earlier round, ITV had Peter Taylor AND Ian Holloway on the same programme. That should be enough to condemn them in anyone's eyes on here.

But surprising not as funny as Paul Merson
Edmund Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 Explained here : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...eague-deal.html Also looks like if we get promoted the reward will be much bigger than in the past.
StanSP Posted 17 February 2009 Posted 17 February 2009 I wonder if they will merge MOTD and Football League coverage. Or will there be two separate programmes. I'm thinking the latter...
