Finchy Posted 10 June 2009 Posted 10 June 2009 Ok COMPLETELY changed my mind, after listening to a lot of bands on the Reading line up i'd never really bothered listening to, in the last hour or so using the wonderful Spotify, I have found some bands I now officially bum. I'm actually amazed at how many of these festival Republic bands I like! God i'm so ignorant. But seriously what a line up, good times! I made a playlist of bands I will be trying to see at Reading, anyone with Spotify have a listen, maybe make some playlists too Can't believe it's taken me this long to get into Manchester Orchestra, I saw them at Reading 07 and thought they were sh*t but they are sooo good. http://open.spotify.com/user/jaybee1990/pl...GMOp34dlTqZOmRP
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 June 2009 Posted 10 June 2009 jb, Manchester Orchestra are sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I Can Feel A Hot One is a quality track.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 10 June 2009 Posted 10 June 2009 I know this nowww! Seriously good band yeah, just finished listening to ILAVLAC all the way through, such a good album. Sleeper 1972
Finchy Posted 10 June 2009 Posted 10 June 2009 Sleeper 1972 Yeah The lyrics in that are pretty strong, great song.
Joe. Posted 10 June 2009 Posted 10 June 2009 You seriously going to see La Roux? Clashes with Radiohead Nah I won't, it's just a decent addition to that stage that's all. I'll make an effort to go see some of the "smaller" bands this year I hope though, really want to see Grammatics.
lcfcrinaldi Posted 15 June 2009 Author Posted 15 June 2009 If none of you see Alexisonfire I will find you.... I wouldnt miss them for the world!
Finchy Posted 15 June 2009 Posted 15 June 2009 Hmm i'll definitely be seeing The Qemists! Apart from that nahh, Deadmau5 is ok but over Radiohead? Fooook that!
Joe. Posted 16 June 2009 Posted 16 June 2009 Dance stage lineup: Deadmau5 Vitalic MSTRKRFT Chase & Status Lady Soverign The Crystal Method The Qemists Das Pop Chipmunk 3Oh!3 Master Shortie Not sure who to go see out of Radiohead, Lostprophets or Deadmau5 now. Jehst, you're a man in the know. Recommend seeing any of these?
Edmund Posted 16 June 2009 Posted 16 June 2009 Dance stage lineup:Deadmau5 Vitalic MSTRKRFT Chase & Status Lady Soverign The Crystal Method The Qemists Das Pop Chipmunk 3Oh!3 Master Shortie Not sure who to go see out of Radiohead, Lostprophets or Deadmau5 now. Jehst, you're a man in the know. Recommend seeing any of these? Tbh ive only heard of Deadmau5, Lady Soverign and Chase & Status. Chase & Status are dnb and the only ones I know of in any depth. They are top producers but a bit cheesy for my likings. The annoying thing is they have the ability but have sold out. I only own one of there tunes and its in my top list "Loves Theme". The problem is they have sold out and make music purely for the dance and no soul but after a few tins and ecstasy pipes im sure they will have you rocking. A mate of mine into house raves on about Deadmau5. Im sure he dj's in a mouse outfit only thing I know about him/her. And Lady Soverign I know from the radio Really not my thing at all. Im sure some the other acts will be heavy. Im surprised by that list, in the past Reading have had Marky, Roni Size, High Contrast to name a few down there. Im guessing they are trying to cater for all.
potter3 Posted 16 June 2009 Posted 16 June 2009 I've got 3OH!3's album, isn't bad. Wouldn't call it dance though. Also, isn't MTWG's avatar Deadmau5?
Joe. Posted 16 June 2009 Posted 16 June 2009 I've got 3OH!3's album, isn't bad. Wouldn't call it dance though. Also, isn't MTWG's avatar Deadmau5? Yeah it is. Quite fancy seeing them actually, puts on a good show apparently. Difficult thing is getting my mates away from fecking Lostprophets.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 Got a mate who's really into 3OH!3, like potter can't really see how they'd fit into dance though. And if it's a choice between Lostprophets and deadmau5, Joe, you know what you've got to do. *EDIT - And Chipmunk shouldn't even be allowed near music.
potter3 Posted 17 June 2009 Posted 17 June 2009 *EDIT - And Chipmunk shouldn't even be allowed near music. He's awful.

Craig Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 Really underwhelmed by the line-up now, apart from a select few. I think Saturday in particular is really poor, and i've a feeling that it may well be spent in the pub watching the lunch time kick off (Hopefully Arsenal vs United, as a few of my mates are fans of those two), and Jeff Stelling... in preparation for The Prodigy and Arctic Monkeys.
James. Posted 25 June 2009 Posted 25 June 2009 Dance stage lineup:Deadmau5 Vitalic MSTRKRFT Chase & Status Lady Soverign The Crystal Method The Qemists Das Pop Chipmunk 3Oh!3 Master Shortie Pretty poor line up that although after listening to your CD Swap Joe I reckon you should definitely see Vitalic. Proper banging electro/house, will be sort of similar to Justice type stuff but maybe a touch deeper and darker. Saw him at a rave in London a few months ago, meant to be somewhat of a hero in those circles. Chase and Status will put on a decent show but yeah they're annoyingly commercial for me. Still the atmosphere will probably make up for it as they'll definitely get everyone going. Heard of MSTRKRFT as well but don't know much about them, have a feeling they're meant to be good though.
