Nationwider Posted 10 March 2009 Posted 10 March 2009 I think we need to clarify obscure! I think players with just one appearance would be a good one, particularly just one as a sub.

Kilworthfox Posted 10 March 2009 Author Posted 10 March 2009 Oh well the thread is bringing back some mixed memories. I never saw him play as I was not alive, but my old boy says Frank Large was great! Says he would run through a brick wall for Leicester City & we swapped him For Allan Clarke In the days when Leicester broke Brittish transfer records I remember his brother Juan. Ola

Frank Large was awesome, not in a talented way but effort and commitment which was still pretty important up front in those days.
Corky Posted 10 March 2009 Posted 10 March 2009 Steve PrindivilleColin(?) Miller There was a Charlie Miller. Scottish player I think?
davieG Posted 10 March 2009 Posted 10 March 2009 Steve PrindivilleColin(?) Miller You've got me there NW can't say they ring any bells at all.

I am sure I haerd about some resentment towards him from us?
davieG Posted 10 March 2009 Posted 10 March 2009 Were (are) Leicester fans bitter towards Clarke when he left? I am sure I haerd about some resentment towards him from us? As he'd been our record buy you could argue that it was the start of a slippery slope, perhaps people expected him to stay, Leeds would have been consider rivals, all sorts of reasons. I think it was the board just getting scared having spent some money and being able to recoup it. There were a number of occasions when fans thought we were just 1 or 2 players short of being great and capable of winning the league but the board never quite went the extra yard.

Clough had a poor opinion of Leicester boards over the years, for good reason too IMO
