davieG Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric today sent out a message of thanks to supporters after the club confirmed they had already sold over 10,000 season tickets for the upcoming 2009-10 campaign. The Foxes currently sit proudly nine points clear at the top of the League One table - having dismissed promotions rivals Millwall 1-0 at the New Den on Saturday. Despite City's relegation from the Championship at the end of last season, fans have continued to pledge their support to the club - with home attendances regularly topping the 20,000-mark. Meanwhile, the club has received unparalleled backing on the road - selling out away ends up and down the land. And Mandaric believes that the club now have all of the attributes in place to continue onwards and upwards. He said: "This is further evidence that we are a club moving firmly in the right direction. "Relegation was a huge blow for us all, but together we have come back stronger against all the odds. "We knew how difficult this division was going to be and although we are not there yet we are well placed for a return to the Championship. "People said it couldn't be done - that we would struggle at the smaller grounds - that we would be faced with a cup final every week. There is no trophy in the cabinet yet but we can be very proud of what we have achieved to date. "However, we could not have done any of this without the backing of our supporters. They have been our 12th man - whether we are playing at the Walkers Stadium or on the road. "We had 2,000 supporters backing Nigel and his team in a very hostile atmosphere on Saturday. I was proud of the players and our supporters on the day. "To have sold 10,000 Season Tickets at this point of the campaign is simply tremendous." And City Chief Executive Lee Hoos echoed those sentiments. He added: "We brought forward our Season Ticket deadline date to move us into a good competitive position. We are now well placed to plan for the upcoming season on a level playing field. "We have so seen a 95 per cent renewal rate, which again demonstrates the commitment from our fans. "Our supporters have shown great faith in their club and we will continue to do all we can behind the scenes to give us the best possible chance of success." Fans yet to renew their Season Tickets for the upcoming campaign are reminded that they can still make their purchase at the post-deadline price. Also, the club are now advising potential new Season Ticket Holders that they can secure their seats for the new campaign from the Walkers Stadium ticket office.
Guest Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 That's not a bad number so far considering the fact that having to renew so early has obviously put quite a few people off, judging by a lot of comments on here.
davieG Posted 16 March 2009 Author Posted 16 March 2009 We have so seen a 95 per cent renewal rate The 5% are all Foxestalkers
Babylon Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Not bad considering the season doesn't start for about another 5 months.
Babylon Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 10,000 x ST cost = pays the bills and some of our debt
C-man Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Good effort from our fans. Should be looking at 13000-15000 by the time the season starts.
Fox in a Box Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Babs--------------->10,000 x ST cost = pays the bills and some of our debt? If you read some of the comments made by MM then he stated that the monies will be made for the transfer fund. Debt is a part of football in the modern era, MM has and will pay less for the club due to the falling price of the shares he purchased, read the share takeover document. MM did his due dilligence and knows whats he is doing! he should spend £4.1m on Cox from swindon I say

Any spending money will be borrowed against the clubs assets, he is creating a huge debt mountain against Leicester City.

Guest Bilo Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Should sell at least 15,000 season tickets by the time the season starts, as mathematical confirmation of promotion will probably spark another rush. It bodes well for our attendances next season, can see us averaging around 25,000 if we do well.

Depends on the Matchday prices which based on the eventual 15% increase in ST prices will probably start at £25 with higher prices for A graded games.
Shrenchel Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Not bad at all. As a lot Im not renewing drama queens that skulked down to the ticket office over the weekend Id imagine.

Yeah Id expect an increase like that with reductions for certain games if people arent coming through the gates.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Is it also a case that how many of these 10k have paid the £50 deposit. Does that matter... Ok, we have cold hard cash in the club already with renewals, but what about the 'pending' money... will he be letting Nigel spend that before its arrived?

A sound point actually. Although the A grade games are likely to be against the likes of Forest, Derby and Cov which will always sell well. I expect to see us at least matching our attendances of last season.
Fatbloke Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Cynic You calling someone else a cynic, now that IS priceless
davieG Posted 16 March 2009 Author Posted 16 March 2009 You calling someone else a cynic, now that IS priceless I wasn't calling him a cynic I was praising him for being one as you would expect.I wouldn't want to disappoint you. After all my years of 'dealing' with LCFC it's them that have made me a cynic.
leicesterseddon Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 expected much less than a 95% renewal rate bearing in mind the deadline so pleasantly surprised. i think the club will sell a few more with promotion etc, but not too many at those prices. our STs last season were one of the cheapest in the league - next year we might be one of the most expensive given quite a few clubs have cut prices during this recession.
MC Prussian Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 I've done bookkeeping in school, but it's been a while: Could it be that the early ST renewal thing has something to do with the economical fact that companies just want an immediate boost to their cash flow situation - in order to have the company appear much more profitable to the outside than it actually is. In that regard, this club statement looks like one big scam to me. Still, glad to see so many people renewing for the upcoming season. I'd go as far and say we can reach 18'000 or even 20'000 by the start of next season. About five, six weeks to go this spring - then the summer break. You never know what's going to happen.
Fox in a Box Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 Yes the money will only just cover our outgoings. Any spending money will be borrowed against the clubs assets, he is creating a huge debt mountain against Leicester City. Like Sir Jack Hayward etc....
Kilworthfox Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 I'm already waiting for a boring rant from Kilworth. Do I comment on your posts?
carterfox90 Posted 16 March 2009 Posted 16 March 2009 hope they have enough to buy a decent keeper fulop would be very nice thank you as our goalie next season is going to be quite busy i would imagine i have renewed did'nt want to lose my seat in the kop

Generally, people who do due dilligence are not stupid enough to fall for things like that. On the other hand, it sends a good strong message about future income.
