Darkzzz_ Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id...ource=soccernet I think this is a excellent move on their behalf, I wonder if any of our top clubs follow suit?
JakeShingler Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 What do you expect Arsenal are being charged £75 a match ticket for there game over there.
Lovejoy Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 What happens if they get a job after the season has started? Will they pay for the remaining games?
Vardinhio Posted 24 March 2009 Posted 24 March 2009 I'm sorry but what about the fans who have a job and pay for their tickets? Benefits should 99% of the time be left alone in the public sector, I for one would not be happy if I paid £300 for a season ticket only to find out someone else got in for free. Infact I'd imagine this may deter some people from re-joining the workforce.
Floating Fox Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Villareal are hated by proper Spanish football fans.
ASH17LCFC Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Villareal are hated by proper Spanish football fans. Why ?
Stevosevic Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Villareal, just a spanish equivalent of Wigan, just that they have taken it a bit further.
Floating Fox Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Why ? Villareal, just a spanish equivalent of Wigan, just that they have taken it a bit further. What he said really. Lots of money, no fans or history really.
lavrentis Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 ''Season-ticket holders who are on the dole will be allowed in free next year,'' THere is just something funny with imagining a spanish accent say that.
Alexikokopops Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 What he said really. Lots of money, no fans or history really. Villarreal as a town is not much bigger than Hinckley. It's smaller than Loughborough.

Shrenchel Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Villareal are hated by proper Spanish football fans. Not true. Complete opposite since they made it further than Real in the CL tbh (apart from Real fans obviously.)
Kilworthfox Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 The little that I know about Villereal as a town & football club, is that the major employer is Spains largest Tile manufacturer, and in Spain many houses have tiles instead of carpets due to the climate. The construction inductry in Spain is a s quiet as in the U.K so many will have lost their jobs. The owner of Villereal football club owns the same Tile company. Good on the bloke!
Floating Fox Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Not true.Complete opposite since they made it further than Real in the CL tbh (apart from Real fans obviously.) Only the media like them. Its the same with Hoffenheim in Germany...Media going crazy about them but all the actual fans despise them.

Floating Fox Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Says the internet?I live in Spain mate. All the spanish people I speak to seem to have a hatred towards them.... What would you say the view on them is??
Shrenchel Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 All the spanish people I speak to seem to have a hatred towards them.... What would you say the view on them is?? Some people dislike them but I wouldnt say its hatred. Probably more comparable to a situation like Wigan than Hoffenheim. They are a nothing club from a shit town that have got lucky and are competing above their station, but they are pretty harmless. Also since they progressed in the CL, a lot of my mates that had slagged them off before have said theyre really glad they made it. Either because they love the fact that a team from a town of 50,000 are there when the oh so mighty Madrid aint, or because theyre glad theres another Spanish representative to stop the catalonians gloating.

No they aren't hated, but a lot of the articles I have read mainly have issues with their fans, stating they aren't true Villarreal fans, meaning they have more than likely jumped on the band wagon due to their success in recent years. I remember when they first came up and then went back down, I thought that was the last of them, but how wrong was I. I don't even think they are "competing above their station" any more at all, they are certainly getting stronger. I hope the Catalans can continue to gloat, even more so when the perikos get relegated.
lildave3 Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 All the spanish people I speak to seem to have a hatred towards them.... What would you say the view on them is?? How are Pedro and José anyway? What Spanish people do you talk to?!
dandannieldanok Posted 25 March 2009 Posted 25 March 2009 Great incentive to try and get people back into employment. It's a good gesture but I find it very strange.
