What are everyones thoughts then?

Just heard that Lennon is likely to start, nightmare, especially if Crouch plays, we'll never have any balls into the box for him.

I thought Crouch was injured? :dunno:

If we play 4-2-3-1 with Gerrard in his best position then I can see a goal fest later on - saying that Slovakia have got 'Martin Hurt All' at the back for them and he had Rooney in his pocket a couple of weeks ago.

No SWP is abit of a bummer aswell.

Hoping to see...

Foster

Johnson Terry Ferdinand Cole

Carrick Lampard

Lennon Gerrard Barry

Rooney

I think Gerrard may get put out to the left of that though and Barry sitting in with Carrick and Lampard aloud to play where I have got Gerrard. Downing deserves another crack tonight, dont know why I have said that as I am usually one of his strongest critics but I think we need to play with an actual winger to put the balls in.

Going for a 4-0 win.

I talked to my dad yesterday and he told me england have a friendly 4 days before a qualifying match against the Ukraine...is that true?

Yep.

Yep.

I dont really have my finger on the pulse of the national side (obviously) but is it normal to have a friendly a few days before the hardest qualifying match we will have in the group or any qualifying game for that matter?

Home to the Ukraine harder than playing Croatia away..? It's only warm up for the game anyway, John Terry says that Slovakia are a very similar side to the Ukraine.

Most teams have 2 qualifiers, we only have one so we need a friendly to prepare for it

There will be plenty of subs used. Just getting the team to gel.

John Toshack is fucking inept.

We spend the whole week telling people we need to win the game and then we still play Bellamy as a lone striker.

Hope that you pull it back and end up winning.

Really would like to see all Home Nations in South Africa next summer.

Er, behave. We have Russia and Germany in our group.

Not hoping to wind you up Finners, but you have looked pretty poor, no urgency what so ever.

We're terrible.

Toshack inspires no urgency, no tactical awareness, no flare, no creativity. His 'regime' is built upon our 'solid defence' that then goes and does things like that.

We never look like scoring despite having pretty much nothing but attackers in our "players that are supposed to be at very least Premier League quality" bag.

Every few months Bellars produces a bit of individual genius (such as his hattrick against Slovakia) and that's apparently good enouh to convince people Toshack's not a total tool for the next 20 odd games.
