Samilktray Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 What are everyones thoughts then? Just heard that Lennon is likely to start, nightmare, especially if Crouch plays, we'll never have any balls into the box for him.
StanSP Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Think we'll win comfortably. 3-0 or 3-1. Think Rooney and Gerrard will score. Really hope Heskey does too.
GLC Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 What are everyones thoughts then?Just heard that Lennon is likely to start, nightmare, especially if Crouch plays, we'll never have any balls into the box for him. I thought Crouch was injured?
Uncle Albert Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 If we play 4-2-3-1 with Gerrard in his best position then I can see a goal fest later on - saying that Slovakia have got 'Martin Hurt All' at the back for them and he had Rooney in his pocket a couple of weeks ago. No SWP is abit of a bummer aswell. Hoping to see... Foster Johnson Terry Ferdinand ColeCarrick LampardLennon Gerrard BarryRooney I think Gerrard may get put out to the left of that though and Barry sitting in with Carrick and Lampard aloud to play where I have got Gerrard. Downing deserves another crack tonight, dont know why I have said that as I am usually one of his strongest critics but I think we need to play with an actual winger to put the balls in. Going for a 4-0 win.
purpleronnie Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 I talked to my dad yesterday and he told me england have a friendly 4 days before a qualifying match against the Ukraine...is that true?
StanSP Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 I talked to my dad yesterday and he told me england have a friendly 4 days before a qualifying match against the Ukraine...is that true? Yep.
purpleronnie Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Yep. I dont really have my finger on the pulse of the national side (obviously) but is it normal to have a friendly a few days before the hardest qualifying match we will have in the group or any qualifying game for that matter?
Brainy Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Home to the Ukraine harder than playing Croatia away..? It's only warm up for the game anyway, John Terry says that Slovakia are a very similar side to the Ukraine.
GLC Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 I dont really have my finger on the pulse of the national side (obviously) but is it normal to have a friendly a few days before the hardest qualifying match we will have in the group or any qualifying game for that matter? Most teams have 2 qualifiers, we only have one so we need a friendly to prepare for it
Fox You Forest Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 I'm heading round the pub after a shit, shave and a shower, A few too many drinks might make a friendly more bearable.
Edmund Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 but is it normal to have a friendly a few days before the hardest qualifying match we will have in the group or any qualifying game for that matter? There will be plenty of subs used. Just getting the team to gel.
Finnegan Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 John Toshack is fucking inept. We spend the whole week telling people we need to win the game and then we still play Bellamy as a lone striker.
StanSP Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 John Toshack is fucking inept. We spend the whole week telling people we need to win the game and then we still play Bellamy as a lone striker. Hope that you pull it back and end up winning. Really would like to see all Home Nations in South Africa next summer.
Finnegan Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Hope that you pull it back and end up winning.Really would like to see all Home Nations in South Africa next summer. Er, behave. We have Russia and Germany in our group.
Samilktray Posted 28 March 2009 Author Posted 28 March 2009 Er, behave. We have Russia and Germany in our group. Not hoping to wind you up Finners, but you have looked pretty poor, no urgency what so ever.
StanSP Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Er, behave. We have Russia and Germany in our group. Anything is possible. Even for Wales . Just giving support though
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Gerrard expected on the left I've heard.
Finnegan Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 :laugh:Not hoping to wind you up Finners, but you have looked pretty poor, no urgency what so ever. We're terrible. Toshack inspires no urgency, no tactical awareness, no flare, no creativity. His 'regime' is built upon our 'solid defence' that then goes and does things like that. We never look like scoring despite having pretty much nothing but attackers in our "players that are supposed to be at very least Premier League quality" bag. Every few months Bellars produces a bit of individual genius (such as his hattrick against Slovakia) and that's apparently good enouh to convince people Toshack's not a total tool for the next 20 odd games.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Just catching the build up now. God I love Setanta. Thankyou Virgin.
Samilktray Posted 28 March 2009 Author Posted 28 March 2009 Just catching the build up now.God I love Setanta. Thankyou Virgin. It is fantastic.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 It is fantastic. Especially when I've had to go without internationals for years because of no Sky Sports. People that get really mardy make me laugh.
Blue Foxes Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Can someone please post a stream for the England match for those who don't have sky?
