Same as me :giggle:

I started some then the little group round me followed, it died down then a big chant (Of the same chant) seemed to come from the front, but I was quite near the front anyway.

I think its mixed different, the song itself is the same.

Hmmm... I can hear only minimal differences... I think one stretch towards the beginning is in another style.

But who cares - it's a great band who just did three great gigs and are out with a great new album.

Kasabian fans rocked by a pickpocket gang

A gang of professional pickpockets brought misery to music fans after stealing wallets and mobile phones during homecoming shows by Leicester rockers Kasabian.

Police today confirmed that 21 people reported having items stolen at the three sold-out concerts at the city's De Montfort Hall last weekend.

Most victims were at Sunday night's show, but police confirmed that at least one person had a phone taken on Friday.

It is believed that the thefts were carried out by pickpockets who travelled up from London and bought tickets from touts outside the hall.

Two people were arrested during Sunday night's concert but later released pending further inquiries.

Fan Oliver Speller, who was at the concert on Sunday, was among the victims.

The 19-year-old from Leicester said that a short time into Kasabian's performance he checked his pockets and noticed his phone was gone.

After searching the floor around him, he reported his phone missing to security.

Oliver said: "This gig was meant to be special, the last night of their hometown gigs, but having my phone stolen put a damper on the whole night.

"This is the last thing you expect to happen to you at a gig.

"I have been to numerous shows before and never had this happen.

"From now on I will think twice about taking valuables with me."

Pc Harvey Watson, whose beat covers De Montfort Hall, was on duty. He said: "We believe a team of professional pickpockets were working the crowd.

"I feel very sorry for those people affected because they came to enjoy themselves, but people intent on stealing things have ruined their night.

"This is something that happens all over the country not just in Leicester, and it is not the first time I have dealt with this type of incident."

In February, 2008, at least 10 people had wallets and phones stolen during a gig by the band The Cribs at the University of Leicester Students' Union nightclub The Venue.

A spokeswoman for De Montfort Hall said that as soon as the management were made aware of the pickpockets a security team was sent to deal with the situation. They detained a number of individuals and passed them over to police.

Front-of-house manager Mark Cartwright said those responsible for the thefts were believed to be a professional team from London, who are thought to have targeted many venues throughout the country.

"De Montfort Hall sympathises with those individuals who lost their mobile phones.

"This is not a problem that we regularly have at the venue and the group were not recognised as being previous visitors to the hall."

A spokesman for Leicestershire Constabulary confirmed the 21 thefts and the two arrests on Sunday night.

None of the stolen items have been recovered and police inquiries are continuing.

Anyone with any information about the thefts is asked to contact police on 0116 222 2222.

I did see a few people pushing through the crowd during the gig looking around the floor saying they'd lost their phones.

Interesting, I went to the Sunday gig and I was at that Cribs gig, sounds like i've been lucky then :)

My mate lost his phone, tried ringing it half way through Underdog to see if he could hear it.

I was paranoid I was going to get pickpocketed, I checked my pockets several time throughout the gigs.

Good album, but the vocals are just too flat. :(

Vlad the Impaler is awesome. Still should be more layers on the 'We need to raise the PEOPLE!' bit though.

Liking it though.

I heard rumours and plans they were going to/wanted to play I think it was Victoria Park ages ago, think it was posted on here tbh. Hopefully it happens.

(EDIT - It was posted here it obviously come to nothing though)

If we could stump up the cash and get that stadium upgraded would be awesome for then to play at the Walkers. If England get selected for the World Cup and Walkers if one of the venues thus putting extra seating in, surely they would get the stuff done to hold gigs, e.t.c?

Have been watching them on T.V. this week. Some of their music is good, but their voices are poor. Reminds of updated electronic punk An eighties sound revamped.

Andy Fairweather-Lowe? *shudders*

I don't know what programme you saw, but I watched one this week and their vocals were poor. I think it was the camden crawl show where they came on about 8 in the morning after being up all night or something.

More often than not they are of much better quality, live they are usually excellent.

Now, I don't know if this is a mistake or not, but in the Sun today it has a big piece on Kasabian. It talks about touring with Oasis, Glastonbury and the fact that they are ending their summer touring with a homecoming gig at the Walkers Stadium.

Either it's something we don't know, or they have got The Walkers and De Mont' confused.

Would love it, but really don't think it will happen for the moment anyway, I think they have got mixed up with De Montfort.

Unless we are secretly having the stadium upgraded to allow for gigs to be held, which personally i'm surprised Milan hasn't done yet, Does anyone know how profitable it is for venues - i.e If we held gigs how much would go to Milan (Obviously depending on capacity and how many tickets are sold), i'm just thinking its rumoured to cost 200,000 to upgrade the stadium for concerts, would the 200,000 be made back quickly through gigs for Milan?

Also the article is in past tense - "Headlined their own homecoming gig at Leicester City's Walkers Stadium", instead of Headline, and you think ticket details would be announced by now if they were going to do it this summer anyway with the season only round the corner despite feeling like its ages away.

Kasabian will play at the Walkers Stadium 1 day i'm sure. :fc:

It's in past tense as it's talking about what they would have done by the end of the summer.

Aye, I've just read it again it says "They will have...".

Hmmm, still as much as I want it to happen don't think it will (Not this year/tour anyway).

from what ive read there isnt alot of profit in doing gigs in stadiums by the time you have paid the bands and staff its not worth while. i wish it was because it would be a dream gig

Lee Hoos was in the business section of the Mercury the other night and said concerts at the walkers are a no go. He said for an outlay of over 200k, the returns just weren't worth it. Although we can hold concerts for 14k people and under.
