Joe. Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Course I want us to win the league, we'd be right mugs to screw it up with how far ahead we were. Priority is getting out of this damn league though, and we're making bloody hard work of it.
Matt Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I would be gutted, very gutted because we have been top almost all season and I would annoyed, gutted and embarrassed if we do not finish top - But hey what's new? I'm a Leicester fan, should be used to it by now. But why are we even concerned about whether we are going to win the title or not, We should be more concerned about getting automatic promotion!
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Keep telling yourself that. Well well well look whos here again the posh fan, from the city that has more poles than BT.
maddog Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 The League one trophy in the cabinet will be a fantastic achievment. To come second now would be devastating. But i would take it, as if we carry on like this we may end up 3rd. So so lucky Millwall lost Tuesday night.
Finnegan Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Going up is the most important thing obviously. I respect that, and in the long run I'll be happy as long as we get that. But I really, really want top spot. It would be a great bonus, and it'd be nice after us only being 2nd the last time we got promoted. Agree with this, with traces of what Kareem said. I said from the second the whistle blew at Stoke that it was absolutely vital we were in League One for no longer than a season and that we must go up on first attempt. Come next season nobody will give a shit how we go up. But I will be disappointed if we throw first place away.
carterfox90 Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Any fan who's watched us for the last 6/7 years can be forgiven for having a pessimistic doom laden outlook re Leicester City FC and their ability to fook things up. exactly we know whats coming & it aint nice play offs does anyone really think we will beat leeds after that showing today sorrt but they will come with there tails up & beat us that game today we had to win it & well bottled it big time
demon_dog Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 It may be a Tin Pot league, but we are currently playing as a tin pot team! We've had more than enough games now to have wrapped this league up. Just hope that we do manage to get automatic promotion, because I certainly do not fancy our chances if we end up in the playoffs.
leftsideoverhere Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Well well well look whos here again the posh fan, from the city that has more poles than BT. Please don't do that again. There are plenty of ways to have a go at a Posh fan without resorting to racism. It's crap when other so-called fans use the 'town full of ******" chant at Leicester, and it's crap when we sink to their level too.
Thracian Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Its now looking less and less likely that we will win the league with our poor form and peterboroughs run. but do you care so long as we go up? It won't matter one way or the other the way we're going. I've long said that promotion is the target anyway and that the title is a bonus but losing first place from the position we'd given ourselves really would be extraordinarily wasteful.

Do I care ... yes, I bloody well do ... and I agree with Demon Dog, we have the off-field support and retained enough quality (players) to do this League and yet we look like a team that thinks it's already won the thing and taken the foot off the gas ... the other teams in League 1 will take great delight in shoving any losses back in our face (and quite rightly too!) ... Nigel; go kick some collective arse and make them buggers work til the very last day (hell, my boss works and kicks me for more and more every year ... and my (working) season's lasted over thirty years so far!!!!!!) Come on City .... we'll support you forever, but we deserve better

Sods Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 This might be the only time you get to see your team win a league, come on boys.
Maybes Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 It ours to throw away. I will be fuming if we dont win the league and even more so if we end up in the play-offs. So yes I do care about being champions.

DB11 Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Before the season, no. When we were 12 (?) points ahead of second, it would be disappointing to have thrown it away. Therefore as long as we go up
ibbosuk Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 exactly we know whats coming & it aint nice play offs does anyone really think we will beat leeds after that showing today sorrt but they will come with there tails up & beat us that game today we had to win it & well bottled it big time Leicester City will finish in second place the final table will look like this>> Peterborough 93 pts Leicester 91 pts Millwall 87 pts It was very obvious to me after the 1st 6 games that we are a poor team in a very poor league. This current team would finish between 14th and 18th in the championship.

If this current "poor" team would finish between 14th and 18th in the Championship then with the obvious strengthening of the team in the summer then you should have cause for optimism!

Ultra Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Blowing a lead of SEVENTEEN points over the posh (which is what we had two months ago) would not encourage optimism for next season. It would also send a clear message about the merits of the respective managers. Fergie Junior's arrogant dismissal last summer of an alleged approach from Mandaric for the Leicester post seems well on the money now.

You never know with Leicester, we could win all the remaining games 5-0 and be champions
Milky Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Put it this way, i'd rather Peterborough beat Millwall than the other way around. Distance to third is all i ever look at.
