BlabyFox Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Its now looking less and less likely that we will win the league with our poor form and peterboroughs run. but do you care so long as we go up?
Libertine Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Going up is the most important thing obviously. I respect that, and in the long run I'll be happy as long as we get that. But I really, really want top spot. It would be a great bonus, and it'd be nice after us only being 2nd the last time we got promoted.
Bryn Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 A league title wouldn't last long in our history. Just need to go up.
Koke Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 As long as we get out of this tinpot micky mouse league, I don't care if we win it or not. Peterborough can take it for all I care.
Edmund Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 As long as we get out of this tinpot micky mouse league, I don't care if we win it or not. Peterborough can take it for all I care. This. It might be annoying that we blew it as champions but the players will soon forget once were back in the championship. I doubt there is a significant difference in prize money also.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I want 1st. We're so much bigger than Peterborough.
tewkesbury-fox Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 As long as we get out of this tinpot micky mouse league, I don't care if we win it or not. Peterborough can take it for all I care.right on who cares even if we stagger over the line getting promoted is the only thing that matters
davieG Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Well the players still think we've already won it, they seem oblivious to the fact that if you take your foot off the peddle the opposition don't!
Edmund Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Well the players still think we've already won it, they seem oblivious to the fact that if you take your foot off the peddle the opposition don't! On a positive note, thank god we got the points that we did in the first half of the season or we would be looking at playoffs at best.
sir_bob Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 I want 1st. We're so much bigger than Peterborough. Keep telling yourself that.
Koke Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 On a positive note, thank god we got the points that we did in the first half of the season or we would be looking at playoffs at best. I said that to my brother the other night. We should be grateful for our excellent first half of the season where we took everyone by storm.
J.Lisemore Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 On a positive note, thank god we got the points that we did in the first half of the season or we would be looking at playoffs at best. We could be in the play-offs at this rate.
Edmund Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 We could be in the play-offs at this rate. Typical leicester fan. We are still TOP you know.
J.Lisemore Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Typical leicester fan. We are still TOP you know. not for long... even I can see that.
Legend_in_blue Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 With the position we had, it would be embarassing not to go up as champions. Although as painful as these last five games will be, quite frankly, now I couldn't give a monkeys.
Edmund Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 not for long... even I can see that. Depends how you wanna think. If your all doom and gloom so be it. But whilst were top we still have it on our own hands.
J.Lisemore Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Depends how you wanna think. If your all doom and gloom so be it. But whilst were top we still have it on our own hands. Fair enough. I'm in no mood for optimism at the minute. No doubt when i've slept on it i won't feel as downhearted.
leftsideoverhere Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 With the position we had, it would be embarrassing not to go up as champions. This. Everyone in Leicester - the club, the Mercury, Stringer, fans - went on and on about the unbeaten run, and since it came to an end (well, before that, actually) we've been poor, scraping results in unlikely circumstances - Millwall and Bristol - and playing badly in games we should have strolled. From the position we've been in almost all season long, we know appear to be in disarray. If Nigel Pearson says "there will be twists and turns" again I swear I will scream. All the philosophy in the world won't hide the fact that the players are not functioning as a unit any more - instead of being a team fighting for a clear objective, we look like eleven men looking for someone to blame. That's not championship material. I don't know what has gone wrong on the inside - whether some players think the job is done, or some have got pissed off about team selection, or perhaps word has started to leak out about plans for next year and those not featuring are unhappy about it - but something is seriously wrong in the City camp. Nigel, sort it out!
davieG Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Typical leicester fan. We are still TOP you know. Any fan who's watched us for the last 6/7 years can be forgiven for having a pessimistic doom laden outlook re Leicester City FC and their ability to fook things up.
Edmund Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Fair enough. I'm in no mood for optimism at the minute. No doubt when i've slept on it i won't feel as downhearted. Don't get me wrong im just as gutted as you.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 4 April 2009 Posted 4 April 2009 Couldnt care less if we won the league just want to go up now. Plus winning the league could give the coaching staff/manager false expectations regarding these players next year.

Not if they've been watching any of the last eight matches it won't.

Nigel, sort it out! We're happy that the season is about to end. Imagine if we had hit this shit form in Jan/Feb, we'd be in the play offs. If our defeats and draws was spread out more evenly rather than getting them all now, I don't think people wouldn't be this critical. On the whole, I agree with you, but everyone in this league has gone through a shit phase. We are just dead unfortunate that ours is happening now at the most crucial time. We'll eventually make it out of this tinpot slum. It'll be nice to get the title, but I'm really not bothered in the slightest to be honest.
