davieG Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Link Pick the bones out of this! Leicester are currently top of the League 1 table, but recent form has seen their comfortable lead melting down and are now only 2 points to on form Peterborough. Manager Nigel Pearson has the best squad and the best conditions in the league. Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric could be tempted to make harsh decissions again, but nothing will happen before the season is over. Current slide in form is something that bothers Mandaric, and the way Leicester have managed to lose points lately will be taken into considoration when the season is finished. Pearson will most certainly lose his job if Leicester drops out of the straight promotion places even if he manage to get the club up via the play off's. Names like Ince, Keane and Wise are allready mentioned as possible new men to take over. Pearson knows that he is under severe pressure. Big clubs have stumbled before, but not big clubs with a backing like Mandaric is giving Leicester. Pearson must take Leicester up and start a climb towards a play-off position in the 10 first games next season. Money will be available and as many as 10 new players could be needed to set the club up for a promoiton push next season. But first they need to get out of League 1.
MC Prussian Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 This skeleton lurks around every single year, whenever the term "crisis" comes up. More importantly: Where's the flesh to this story?

Legend_in_blue Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 This is exactly the sort of reaction you get when MM goes off on one suggesting in the Mercury that we will go up as champions. I've said it before, I'll say it again, sometimes MM should just keep his thoughts to himself. It just puts more pressure on. The media are loving this. They'd love to see a mightly cock-up.
Guest Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 This is not journalism. A 6 year old could come up with a more constructive article.
leftsideoverhere Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Load of bollocks Utter toss. Not even rumour or speculation. Are you sure this wasn't just a post on WACCOE?
Lillehamring Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 dreadful journalism at it's most ignorant. this myth that mandaric is bankrolling some kind of league1 Real Madrid is so annoying, do they not look at our spending record? and pearson will 'certainly' lose his job, incredible and then to prove just how absurd and amateurish this piece is, suggesting his replacement would be the most hated man in city history, the man whose greed and dishonesty sealed our fall into administration i hope MM reads this...
Lillehamring Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 and the headline is: Leicester desperate to start climb back to the Premier LeagueMandaric could axe Pearson in the summer yeah, i can see how sacking the only decent manager we've had since o'neill would help us get back to the prem
James. Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 That is one of the most appalingly written articles I have read for a long time.
Fosse Boy Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 I've found better journalism in the NME. What a load of bollocks.
mmarkie Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 It's not true, but i do agree with it Pearson needs to be sacked at the start of next season. He only has one tactic and that's hoof it up to Howard, well that's not going to get us out of the championship next year.

mmarkie Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 Nearly as awful as the 'article' itself Maybe but i've heard a rumour that i'm going to keep quiet now+ the statement about only tactic is hoofing it up to Howard is true and i'm sure of that.

Daggers Posted 8 April 2009 Posted 8 April 2009 This is the power of jokes in action: one minute skinnydipper thought he/she was hillarious and the next minute the Pearson-out bandwagon gathered momentum. A timely warning as to the potential consequences of your actions before attempting humour in the public domain. I fancy Dennis Wise.

I think it just happens that it's become more prevailant of late, and sadly some city fans have VERY short memories. We certainly seemed to be playing a wider variety of tactics earlier in the season but it's all about results from here on in. I do wish they'd keep it on the ground a bit more at the moment though cos most of us have seen how good we can be if we play like that..I've no doubt that Nige will have a different MO in the chumpionship
