Dany N'Guessan leaving Sincil Bank in the summer

His shooting is crap though. Seems to scuff his shots. If he could strike cleaner, he could be amazing. I suppose if Leicester sign him, it means either Gradel or Dyer is on the bench... unless this guy can play as a striker, in which case he'd solve our lack of pace in one go. but can he head a football?

So many questions.

Think you will find he will be more of a squad player like Nicky Adams is unless he pulls out all the stops.

He's not just going to walk straight into the side if we sign him. What credentials does he have to warrant that?

Erm, Davies did, didn't he? If N'Guessan is coming to Leicester, then a few good pre-season outings and a couple of good training sessions and he'd be in.

I know it makes no difference N'Guessan, but I genuinely think he'd be better adapted into a striker the way Henry was. Henry couldn't finish well when he was a winger, but he learned, and scored what? 250 goals in four years?

Not saying N'Guessan could do that, but he strikes me as a potentially brilliant striker (if he put the work in).

Wingers are not priority. Gradel, Dyer are fine. Nicky Adams is reasonable cover. Oakley can play on the wing. But we lack powerful strikers with pace. Anyone know if N'Guessan is capable of playing upfront?

Davies was courted as one of the hottest prospects in English football before his injury and was coming from the league above. When he signed he came off the bench for 3/4 games until he proved he was better.

Hardly comparable.

Davies is now a Premiership player, N'Guessan coming from League 2 Lincoln (maybe)... Hmmm not quite the same quality it seems! Not saying he won't challenge (admittedly I've not seen much of him) and I hope he does challenge because it's healthy and it'd mean he's a good standard; i just highly doubt he's going to walk straight into the first team as you seem to think.

Bugger he's a big boy! Heskey sized! They'll be giving him a wide birth in the showers ;-)

Looks fast and quite skillful and bloody powerful. On the downside his final ball and shot are truly awful. And the defending won't be so abysmal. Still, if we get him trained up could be quite useful in years to come. As for whether he makes the first team to be fair both Max and Lloyds are untested at Chamionsip level and I am quite concerned how any of the three would fare so I guess we'll just have to see

Yeah, but we have pre season riendlies, if they get N'Guessan he's bound to start in them, and if he impresses he'd probably start. Davies came in around winter during full competition. Admittedly, he came on as a sub against Dagenham, wasn't it? But he was still put straight into the squad based on one training session. Davies obviously had a degree of pedigree, but that doesn't mean N'Guessan ddoesn't. He was a highly rated prospect from the Auxere youth academy, and let's face it, a lot teams in England are/were interested. The only reason he ended up at Lincoln was due to some shitty form.

He must be a good player if we beat Reading, Ipswich, Sheff Utd & Wednesday, Leeds, and Forest for him IF we sign him!

Sheffield United could be in the Premier League next year, that's why I'm not believing he's signed. I'll believe it when he's wearing a Leicester shirt.

hmmm PFA League Two Team of the Season... bit like Josh Low

But 'in Nige we trust', he's not put a foot wrong when it comes to the players he's brought in so far, so there must be somthing to the lad.

If they don't go up I can see him going to them, they have planned a pre-season friendly with lincoln as part of the deal.

IF N'Guessan signs for us, then Pearson has another big task ahead of him - that is, getting the best out of an erratic twenty-something French winger/forward. Whether the lad can do a smooth transition from League Two to the Championship has to be seen.

Or else you can always ship him out on loan, I guess.

Alongside Cox, we'd also need cover for Howard. Campbell's pretty much gone and thus out of the race, Dickov I'm not sure whether he could still cut it at his age. We'd best be off selling both and getting a new, fourth force in (no disregard to Chambers). That should do the trick.

Lambert?

If we're looking for backup for Howard (or somone better) then it'd be good to take a look at the likes of Ellington or even King, players who, while they might have gone off the boil lately, have a proven record at Championship level to balance the lack of experiance of the rest of the team.

No offence to anyones mates, but from big niges transfer dealings thus far Im pretty confident him and his backroom staff are better judges of a player´s potential than your average lincoln fan.

The whole rumour could be bollocks though.

Hi, I am your average Lincoln fan then I guess

This is a reply I gave to a question about him from a Foxes fan -

I said at the start of this season that he was going to be one to watch out for from us. Dont let the fact that he has been at us put you off, (remember McCauley and Hobbs played for Lincoln too), he has a good pedigree from his Auxerre days and Rangers didnt pay 150k for nothing early on in his career.

Up until the last couple of months he had been fantastic for us, some games he is totally unplayable. Probably one of the quickest people I have ever seen in a city shirt running with the ball. The downside, over the last few weeks its been obvious he was leaving and his performance levels have dropped significantly which has divided a lot of the fans about him. He does have a tendency to switch in and out of some games, and wont always do the graft he should and track back. His final ball can let him down also, but with he is still young, good coaching, and patience, for me the positives will far outway the negatives.

If we do get around £200k-300k (and that is the rumour on our vitals site) it will be good business for us, but I still think he will do you a job whatever league you are in.

Who would have thought N'Guessan would be still playing for an LCFC next season?!!

Maybe he got an "LCFC for life" tattoo, and is worried he'll look silly if he plays for a different FC!
