davieG Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Exactly what the first post says! Probably because I merged it
Toby or not Toby Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Not Astrit at the minute i would think Link
iancognito Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Heskey . Knowing our luck it'd be Marlon Harewood.... Brown, Tunchev and Hobbs would be the scariest set of CBs in the league that's for sure. Good back up for Tunch and Hobbs and competition for Morrison. You have to remember Brown was ever-present for Hull when they went up, he's got form in the CCC.

Listen I'm gonna keep posting Heskey until it happens-you know what they say about if you wish for it hard enough it'll happen
MC Prussian Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I'm not sure that we'd have to beat other Premiership teams to the signing of a 31-year old former Hull defender named Wayne Brown, for me the aforementioned article clearly refers to Gilbert. Just to add my piece to the pile. I'm still impressed with Brown's performances with us and - thanks to knowitall - he'll be another player set to sign for us.
iancognito Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Not Astrit at the minute i would thinkLink "I was more of a helping hand, but I have gained their trust and been able to play in big games for the club" Gained their trust! What is he, a spy?
iancognito Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Marlon Harewood would be a ridiculously good signing. Tell that to the fans of the team he's been "turning out" for recently. His goals to games record is abysmal and his goals to chances record is even worse. I'd prefer Carl Cort back....no, no I take that back, I still don't want Harewood though.
Lillehamring Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Wayne Brown and Kerrea Gilbert, most certainly, but I can't see why theres so much hype about it, considering it is those two. assuming it is brown, i guess they are hyping it for the quarter million city fans that don't read knowitall's posts
knowitall Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 If this does relate to Brown, why does the OS hype this so much?It reads as if a new player is being bought in. It's nice to have inside knowledge (knowitall and others have been fantastic). But even those fans that don't read these forums will surely feel a little underwhelmed when we announce the capture of a player that's already here?!? I also felt the same way about the new kit launch on Friday night. I, like many others, got there earlier than normal in order to see the new kit being displayed in the megastore. When we got to the door and asked where the new top was being shown, my anticipation soon drained away when then store assistant pointed to a cardboard cut-out and shoved a leaflet in my hand! So much for seeing the shirt itself! As Brown is not a Leicester player, when it becomes official he will be a NEW player. Leicester are just using words to sell tickets. By the way I am not saying it is Brown. All I can tell you is Brown signed over a week ago. So I hope its news of another signing not Brown

leicesterseddon Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 the club never cease making me to make me laugh - only they could take a story about a loan player being signed on a permanent deal and turn it into another plug to sell season tickets brown will be a useful player next season, but is still well behind tunchev and indeed quite behind hobbs in my estimations i hope to god we don't sign gilbert. not been impressed with him at all this year.

No, thats fair comment. I think he could do a job for us and hes still young which means theres always room for improvement. I wouldnt want to pay over the odds though.
NorthernFox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Happy if it is Wayne Brown, pleasantly surprised by anybody else. I like uncompromising centre halves, and he is very good in the air.

A potential signing that you don't know about? Are you slipping or has your cover been blown?
Guest Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Blimey! A potential signing that you don't know about? Are you slipping or has your cover been blown? He's been 'cut outta tha loop' Don't know how anybody could complain if we managed to sign Kerrea either, he's got much more consistent as the season's gone along and he's got some serious pace on him. In Nige we trust
MPH Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 I Just wonder if maybe brown is getting cold feet now that he has heard Hobbs has signed on permanently... at 31 you would think he is after regular first team footy and he must know Hobbs and Tunch is the preferred pairing Maybe he is keeping his options open before signing on the dotted line?
Guest Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 I read the topic as Wes Brown. I should go to bed. If Nige pulls that transfer out if the bag, I don't think anyone will have any complaints
teblin Posted 28 April 2009 Posted 28 April 2009 My guess is that we have a few players already lined up, as we have all but known we would be in the championship for a few months. I reckon they'll be quite a few announced over the coming weeks, though they may already have signed.
