Hitesh Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 We Did It - TOGETHER Posted on: Mon 27 Apr 2009 Leicester City Chief Executive Lee Hoos has today revealed that early Season Ticket payments had helped the club to secure the services of TWO new signings. The Foxes confirmed that they had completed the capture of Jack Hobbs from Liverpool on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee to their supporters ahead of the League One clash against S****horpe United. And that announcement set the tone for the night - with fans delighted with the news that the deal for the 20-year-old defender had been done. Meanwhile, City hope to make a further announcement over the next couple of days regarding the capture of another player from a Premier League club. And Hoos was keen to stress that the earlier Season Ticket deadline dates had allowed the Foxes to act quickly when other clubs were circling. He said: "The fact that the vast majority of our supporters renewed earlier has helped us to secure the services of Jack from Liverpool. "We are now in a position where we can react quickly in the transfer market. We were able to stave off the attentions of other clubs and complete the deal. "Everyone should be very proud of what has been achieved here this season. It was never going to be easy, but we have remained united throughout. "The support that the club has had both at home and away has been simply incredible and there is no doubt that has had a positive effect on the players on the field." City were presented with the League One trophy following the game, and Hoos commended supporters for their behaviour on the evening. He added: "It was fantastic to be able to receive the trophy in front of our home supporters. It was a great spectacle and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. "A number of clubs over the weekend suffered from pitch incursions and this resulted in muted celebrations. But the behaviour of our supporters on the night was impeccable and we were all able to enjoy the presentation together." Fans are reminded that the club's second Season Ticket deadline falls on Thursday, April 30. Prices currently start from just £289 for Adults, the equivalent of less than £13 a game, while adult and child seats can be secured from just £285. Special prices remain available for all Under 18's, with Season Tickets just £125 in all public areas of the stadium, as part of the Club's 125 Anniversary celebrations. There will be a ten per cent increase to all season ticket prices after Thursday's deadline. The Ticket Office is open from 9am until 5pm every day this week. Somewhere in that ramble is about an announcement over the next few days about the signing of a PL player - probably Wayne Brown... Link
GLC Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Somewhere in that ramble is about an announcement over the next few days about the signing of a PL player - probably Wayne Brown...Link 90% sure it's him
JoeyB Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Either be him or Astrevic (sp) But wouldn't say no to Martin, stockdale, Gilbert........
FilboFox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Good signing if it is him? I'm not sure... unless we get him on the cheap... and I mean seriously cheap.
Tommeh Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I'd love the 2nd player to be Gilbert but if no announcement has been made on Brown thus far I'd imagine it'll be him.
FilboFox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Either be him or Astrevic (sp)But wouldn't say no to Martin, stockdale, Gilbert........ Hope it's Gilbert... he's been good for us at the back and we need young players with the hunger he's got to play. And he got right behind us even when not playing which is great to see too!
Jon the Hat Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Knowitall already confirmed Brown is a done deal.
FilboFox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Knowitall already confirmed Brown is a done deal. Oh... well what does everyone think then? I'm unsure as to what to think about it... positive?
Raj Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 I take full praise for the signings as i was the one who paid for my ST way back in December................................ 1985
Trav Le Bleu Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Knowitall already confirmed Brown is a done deal. Yeah, but there's been no official announcement, so I guess that's why were all pretty certain it's Brown.
ousefox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 It has to be Brown. Good signing for back up in my opinion
Munzie Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 If this does relate to Brown, why does the OS hype this so much? It reads as if a new player is being bought in. It's nice to have inside knowledge (knowitall and others have been fantastic). But even those fans that don't read these forums will surely feel a little underwhelmed when we announce the capture of a player that's already here?!? I also felt the same way about the new kit launch on Friday night. I, like many others, got there earlier than normal in order to see the new kit being displayed in the megastore. When we got to the door and asked where the new top was being shown, my anticipation soon drained away when then store assistant pointed to a cardboard cut-out and shoved a leaflet in my hand! So much for seeing the shirt itself!
DeclanMC Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Brown for sure, I like the way they try and keep the suspense going like a soap. Silly really and I can see no reason for doing it.
harpendenfox Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Brown for sure, I like the way they try and keep the suspense going like a soap. Silly really and I can see no reason for doing it. Simple really. They want to announce lots of news in the hope of hooking more people into buying season tickets. And who can blame them. The more season tickets they sell, the more players we can buy.
Dan Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 Wayne Brown and Kerrea Gilbert, most certainly, but I can't see why theres so much hype about it, considering it is those two.
Matt Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 No-ones mentioned Cleverley yet, I don't think we would be able to sign him though tbh, I think Sir Alex wants to hold on to him, although I could see him coming back on loan next season, hopefully, maybe.
SMX11 Posted 27 April 2009 Posted 27 April 2009 According to OS Lee Hoos says the season tickets have signed 2 new players. Hobbs and a prem player, this seems to be the confirmation of wayne browns arrival.
