JakeShingler Posted 30 April 2009 Author Posted 30 April 2009 10 point deduction to be decided wether its this season or not.
Matt Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Again as sad as it is, and I feel sorry for the fans but the club, the owners, the businessmen who have lost out and in trouble for this I have no pity for, they voted for points deductions - They can have them.

The fans own Stockport. That club is in dire trouble. Good luck to them, they'll need it!
Matt Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 The fans are the owners of this club. The fans own Stockport. That club is in dire trouble. Good luck to them, they'll need it! Oh Fair enough. If it was them who voted for the points deduction when all clubs voted on the situation, I feel no pity for them, If it was the board before them who voted for a points deduction - Wankers. I always understood it was only us who voted against a points deduction but have recently read there were 2 teams who voted against points deductions, us and someone else, who was the other team? Bradford was it?
davieG Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Good to see the points deduction is working as deterrent and that we now have clubs run along affordable lines.
MC Prussian Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Phew! Heavy stuff. Hope they'll recover from that little shocker next season. EDIT - Just seen the following bit on BBC Sport: County now lie just three points above the relegation zone and need a draw in Saturday's final game of the season at Brighton to ensure they are not relegated to League Two. Can't be... Stockport still have a goal difference of +3, which means that even if County were losing against Brighton, Carlisle would have to score at least 17 past Millwall in two days time.
Joe. Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 Stockport will not win while they're up against Lloyd Owusu.
Ultra Posted 30 April 2009 Posted 30 April 2009 If Stockport are in administration, does that mean Conrad Logan comes back to us?
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 If Stockport are in administration, does that mean Conrad Logan comes back to us? He has left stockport on his way to be with his twin brother Jimmy Nielsen.
AyewJoking Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Please tell me why the points deduction comes in this season. It hasnt affected them at all. They couldnt go up and they cant go down.
lcfc_jme Posted 1 May 2009 Posted 1 May 2009 Gay. Seeing clubs in administration is not fun. It's a scary time and the potential consequences are devastating.
Ultra Posted 2 May 2009 Posted 2 May 2009 Please tell me why the points deduction comes in this season. It hasn't affected them at all. They couldnt go up and they cant go down. That's why they're taking the hit now, rather than next season when it might have made a difference. The league needs to rethink its policy on points deductions. It's not proving a deterrent at all.
Tilley Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 I hate point deductions, so much. Talk about being kicked whilst you're down.

It's not proving a deterrent at all. That's not what happened with Southampton though. They were basically fucked whatever their outcome; "stay up" and get relegated with -10, or go down at start the next on -10.

They were basically fucked whatever their outcome; "stay up" and get relegated with -10, or go down at start the next on -10. Well we all know why the rules were changed to bring about that situation don't we... Cheating Leeds!
GLC Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Jim Gannon(club manager) made redundant by club administrators SSN
Matt Posted 6 May 2009 Posted 6 May 2009 Jim Gannon(club manager) made redundant by club administratorsSSN Think it could be bye bye for Stockport all together if it's that bad. Quite sad indeed.
Bert Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Jim Gannon has been made redundant as manager of cash-strapped Stockport along with assistant boss Peter Ward. The move comes after the Hatters were placed into administration at the end of April and were deducted 10 points in accordance with Football League rules. Administrators Leonard Curtis have been looking to reduce the club's wage-bill, with 40-year-old Gannon becoming the first major casualty. In February this year, he rejected a chance to become Brighton manager. "It is regrettable that due to funding constraints during the administration period it has been necessary to make a number of redundancies," read a statement from the administrators. "Following the conclusion of the playing season, the number of coaching staff has been reduced and regrettably cuts include the manager, Jim Gannon. "It is hoped that these cost reductions will enable us to preserve the club in the short term and secure a buyer in the near future." The majority of the current squad were brought to the club by the highly-rated Gannon, who guided his side away from the League Two drop zone after taking over in December 2005. Hatters goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams, who was signed by Gannon in 2008, has expressed his dismay at the latest turn of events. "I don't know what happens next," said Fon Williams. "I was in yesterday and everything was okay, none of this came up. They just said that I should come back in a week to see the physio and that was all. "Jim has done very well in fairness. It was hard times for him, because in January we had to get rid of a couple of players and lost a couple of players on loan. "It's going to be very strange going back there now. I don't know who is left, that's the thing. I have spoken to a couple of the lads and no-one seems to know what's going on." Former defender Gannon was a fans' favourite at the club, playing over 400 times for the Edgeley Park outfit before making the step-up to management and guiding the club into League One on a shoe-string budget.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I quite like Gannon and his style. I thought Stockport looked good against us this year. Norwich City could do a lot worse than Jim Gannon if they were to relieve Gunny of his duties. This really is bad for Stockport, I feel for their fans.
davieG Posted 13 June 2009 Posted 13 June 2009 THE administrators of Stockport County have confirmed they have agreed terms for its sale to the Melrose consortium, headed by former Manchester City, Leicester, Celtic and Partick striker, Jim Melrose. The League One side went into administration at the end of April with crippling debts, but a takeover to secure the club's future now looks set to go through.
