lou Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 I think we might have done the pitch invasion had it not been for them being relegated that day. Most of us can remember how it felt last season when the Stoke fans did it
Cobbo Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 Does anyone else suffer from post terracing/standing all game in seated areas calf strains? Mine are absolutely killing! I think it's the standing on tip toes all match...
Katy Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 I also forgot to mention, some of us stayed behind to applaud the Crewe players when they came out on the pitch. I think they appreciated it. We were standing near the coaches and a load of Crewe went passed and everyone started applauding them and them back to us, I don't care what anyone says I thought it was lovely. Have a lot more respect for relegation now and what people go through, ok being relegated from the Prem loads of times was bad but to League One was the worst feeling ever, and not one I'd like to repeat. I have a mate who supports Norwich who wound me up when we went down, I text him today and commiserated with him. I just can't goad people anymore - unless it's Forest/Derby or Cov
Matt Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 What happened at the station? We got the train that went the long way round and stopped at every station taking an hour and a half to get to Nuneaton but had a load of West Ham fans for company after Stoke so they made it better! Yeah we had a load of West Ham fans giving it the big I am on our train at 7.30ish, They kept asking if we knew where the baby squad lads were then claiming these other lads were in the baby squad, e.t.c. We just sat in the pub at the train station after the match till 7.15ish till the train came and there was one Stoke fan and his mate was a West Ham fan, The West Ham fan claimed he was good mates with Muzzy Izzet, didn't know whether to believe him or not, took it with a pinch of salt. The Stoke fan was having a decent conversation with us but chipping away and trying to wind us up with the odd dig. I also saw a group of fans going after 2 Stoke fans on the platform, The police had to run down and keep the groups apart. My mate thought the group of fans were Crewe fans but I reckon they were West Ham fans (As they were going after the Stoke fans). I saw a couple of Leeds fans aswell, and could help myself but 'innocently' chant Sooper, Sooper Steve.
Guest Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Ah I've seen the pictures. If i'd have known it was you I would have introduced myself! There's always next season now. To be fair, I didn't know he was your mate! Are you planning on supporting the FT lads against TB? I am a bit miserable today arent I . I just think after a long season a 'fun' pitch invasion is better than dressing up like batman and clapping the opposition. For me thats cringeworthy and its more reminiscent of a cricket or rugby crowd, I guess thats where its heading now in england, I dont like it but it seems i'm in the minority. And is probably one of the reasons I dont go to matches when I'm in england. Fancy dress at the last game has been going on since I've watching the game, which is over 15 years. It's not exactly a recent phenomenon. I would rather have some friendly banter with fans rather than a seeing guys beating their chests for 90 minutes, which means that we all get treated like thugs.
leftsideoverhere Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 leftsideoverhere and son were outside afterwards, I did sing "left side over here" to him but I don't think he realised I was from the froum. Sorry, Nathko, that was too subtle for me. Should have said 'hello'!
Guest Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Kudos to Lisa for being Lara Croft for the day, she looked ace. Thanks, you looked good too. I think everyone who dressed up did, to be fair!!
Darkzzz_ Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Does anyone else suffer from post terracing/standing all game in seated areas calf strains?Mine are absolutely killing! I was slightly drunk hence the chant.
Granno Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 To be fair, I didn't know he was your mate! Are you planning on supporting the FT lads against TB? Yeah I'm hoping to get there
lcfc_jme Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 We walked past JME in the caveman gear too - my daughter thought he was "scary" Not scary! Though if you'd have walked past me after the game, I'd have been fairly angry so that may explain it My brother crowned him the best of the lot. Delighted. Thought fancy dress was brilliant. Major kudos for everyone taking part. The "women" were beaut, obvv. Crewe fans were quality, though I'm not sure it was sinking in during the game. McDonalds in Crewe was full of clunge, massive fan. Would have enjoyed the game but didn't get to celebrate two of our goals 'cos the bloke next to me was a right miserable **** and his daughters were ****ing moronic bitches as well. In a roundabout way, he started having a go at me, I told him to shut up and not to talk to me, then he replied "well you don't talk to me, then". YOU SPOKE TO ME FIRST YOU COMPLETE ****ING MONGOLOID! And apparently you're not allowed to look in the direction of the team after they score without having a problem with that family, because if his daughters are looking that way, it's THEIR space.

Oh God - unlucky! We usually get stuck next to the villiage idiots... looks like you got them this time. Pity that club in your hand wasnt real eh?
Thracian Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Perfect finale. The Crewe fans who stayed on earned my respect for their sporting applause for City at the end and I'm glad our lot didn't rub their relegation in and what few songs there were along those lines were short and muted. Crewe is another away trip I'm going to miss - welcoming atmosphere in the pub, good natured stewards and police, a team that tried to play football. I was pleased with the way our team retained its attitude towards winning and felt, above everything, that the side gave value in terms of effort virtually every time they went out. Even Ajdarevic showed some workrate and a 3-0 win away is no mean feat even against a team at the bottom end of the table. Well done City. Our points and goals record was one to be proud of and it's so nice to feel that all the first team regulars made a genuine contribution to our success rather than feeling that this position and that position was a walking weakness. There is much to be done for next season but, for now, all I'm concerned about is congratulating the players, the manager and his staff on a job well done and on restoring some pride to our club. A word of praise too for Milan Mandaric for, at last, making a good managerial choice and letting him get on with the job. I hope now that he doesn't get impatient and expect the impossible but lets the manager build his team on rock so that it is capable of surviving at whatever heights it eventually climbs to.
clazkel Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 I'm going to miss the 'older' style grounds, close to the pitch, friendly atmosphere, being able to stand near the pitch, at Cheltenham you could stand on the sidelines at half time. Now to the championship where it'll be alot stricter

Guest Bilo Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 And back to shit modern bowls with crap atmosphere. Surely you don't mean..... Talk about spot the difference.
CosbehFox Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 If you actually see a picture inside Cardiff's new un - it has the same internal design as Coventry's! Just with proper Blue shirts.
flanimal Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 If anyone goes to the Ricoh, do you think you'd take a shit on part of the terraces?
lildave3 Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Oh yeah, Wayne Brown doing a stepover will live with me forever.
lcfc_jme Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 " *player* give us a wave, *player* *player* give us a wave". Every 30 seconds. Dampened things a little for me, especially as it was shouted at our defenders WHILST THEY WERE DEFENDING.
clazkel Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 And back to shit modern bowls with crap atmosphere. Yeah i know, its good to be back in the Championship but i will miss some of the grounds in league 1, apart from Brighton where i could hardly see the game, that was a joke On a side note, was anyone on fox travel coach 4, upstairs on the way back, it was a laugh.
CosbehFox Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Oh yeah, Wayne Brown doing a stepover will live with me forever. That was comedy. " *player* give us a wave, *player* *player* give us a wave". Every 30 seconds. Dampened things a little for me, especially as it was shouted at our defenders WHILST THEY WERE DEFENDING. My favourite bit of that chant. Was the bloke getting increasingly annoyed at the lino's refusal to do it. Eventually he gave up with 'Lino, you f***ing faggot! Give us a wave'.
General Smuts Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 I also forgot to mention, some of us stayed behind to applaud the Crewe players when they came out on the pitch. I think they appreciated it. Big fella at the back for Crewe I am glad someone mentioned this, It always happens to me. Liar - you were sat down all game. " *player* give us a wave, *player* *player* give us a wave". Every 30 seconds. Dampened things a little for me, especially as it was shouted at our defenders WHILST THEY WERE DEFENDING. That daft twat needed a slap in the chops.
Koke Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Oh yeah, Wayne Brown doing a stepover will live with me forever. Steve Howard actually once did it at a home game. I can't remember who the oppositions were. I jizzed in my pants.
Katy Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Thanks, you looked good too. I think everyone who dressed up did, to be fair!! Agreed! " *player* give us a wave, *player* *player* give us a wave". Every 30 seconds. Dampened things a little for me, especially as it was shouted at our defenders WHILST THEY WERE DEFENDING. This was greeted with shouts of 'they're busy' from myself.
lou Posted 5 May 2009 Posted 5 May 2009 Agreed! This was greeted with shouts of 'they're busy' from myself. Same ere! I can remember years ago Matty Elliott getting a bollocking from MON for responding to the fans request to "start the wave" and subsequently we conceded a goal. It gets on my nerves this business
