Finnegan Posted 8 November 2009 Posted 8 November 2009 Only watched the Wales - NZ match and thought that was a good game. Wales battled well and Brian Moore said the scoreline flattered the Welsh but i dont agree with that , decent effort against a good NZ side Brian Moore's a twat that shouldn't be on telly. I honestly prefer Stuart Barnes to Brian Moore, that's how much I dislike Brian Moore. That man will never, ever, ever say anything good about Wales that he doesn't absolutely have to. He's the living embodyment of bias. And I don't think the score-line flattered us but I do think we were shit going forward (though, Halfpenny's silly moment aside, brilliant in defence, to be fair. It's going to be a sad, sad, sad day for the sport when Shaun Edwards swaps Wales for England!) I just don't think NZ properly turned up either, really. Problem with Hook's inexperience at fifteen is he never really knew when to come forward into the line. He was too worried about keeping his shape that he never offered anything coming forward while Lee Byrne is constantly coming onto the shoulder of 10 or 12 to make runs. Plus, as much as I like Jamie Roberts he's a battering ram not a creative inside center. Him and Shanks are never going to be that inventive together, if both fantastic as individuals. Then you've got the problem of Jones - brilliant fly half, don't get me wrong, but he's another one that plays a simple, methodical game. Stick all this together and you've basically only got one means of penetration - brute force. Against, what? The single most athletic sports team - across any sport - in the entire world? They're bigger than us, stronger than us, faster than us, fitter than us. You've got to out think them, out run them and we never, ever, ever do. That's the reason we haven't beaten the All Blacks in fifty years. We can beat the Saffers because they play just like England, we can beat the Aussies because they play just like us. The All Blacks, even a weakened All Blacks, are our kryptonite and we haven't got a clue.
Finnegan Posted 8 November 2009 Posted 8 November 2009 Finners frinners whats the score? A lot more respectable than yours...?
Guest Bilo Posted 8 November 2009 Posted 8 November 2009 [/img] What a win that was for the tigers against SAoh my, Castrogiovanni Good game. Castro was immense.
Sparky Posted 8 November 2009 Posted 8 November 2009 We mingled with the Tigers players in Walkabout after the game , all had time for us. Castro is quality fella
Webbo Posted 8 November 2009 Posted 8 November 2009 A lot more respectable than yours...? Yeah, but I don't give a shit.
Guest Bilo Posted 8 November 2009 Posted 8 November 2009 We mingled with the Tigers players in Walkabout after the game , all had time for us. Castro is quality fella By all accounts, the Tigers squad are a 'cracking bunch of lads'. I want to meet Castro meself, I'm jealous.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 9 November 2009 Posted 9 November 2009 Someone in the office who was at the game on Friday just told me that some people got ejected for making a noise when a South African penalty was being taken, and that it was Tigers fans that pointed them out to the security staff. If that happened at the Walkers there'd be no-one left in the ground
davieG Posted 14 November 2009 Posted 14 November 2009 England v Argentina Crap 1st half all errors, kicking and penalties. At least the Argies are trying to run with it a bit.
Alexikokopops Posted 14 November 2009 Posted 14 November 2009 Three of my housemates (two English, one Argentinian) have gone to the match at Twickenham today because we live down the road. Unfortunately I'm in the Midlands so can't make it! Stupid Midlands.
davieG Posted 14 November 2009 Posted 14 November 2009 Doesn't sound like you're missing much. Plenty of endeavour but riddle with errors by England - they are now trying to run with it at least. They're even both missing their penalty kicks. England handling errors 13 to the Argies 3 15 penalties I believe only 6 converted.

If that happened at the Walkers there'd be no-one left in the ground According to the police posters I saw there this afternoon, there were five people ejected for cracking a 54 year old bloke. All happens at WR. Anyway, Tigers won 29-20 against Newport but it wasn't a great game by any stretch. Still, largely a second string today so can't complain too much. Incidentally, the facilities in the Cat stand piss on the Walkers.
Fosse Boy Posted 14 November 2009 Posted 14 November 2009 Just watching the highlights now. That purple kit is fucking disgusting.
Sparky Posted 15 November 2009 Posted 15 November 2009 Moody was about the only positive out of yesterdays shambles
Fosse Boy Posted 21 November 2009 Posted 21 November 2009 England just absolutely lost it in the second half today. Ridiculous amount of handling errors. That was a game they could've won if they'd have kept their heads. Also, what the hell was Wilkinson thinking trying that drop goal attempt mid way through the second half? That move looked like it was going to end in a try!
Finnegan Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 Mh. The All Blacks are just better than us, it's as simple as that. The fact is that England (and Wales) do make those errors and that the All Blacks are more focused and far more clinical. I'd be worried if I was an England fan though really. There's just not a lot to draw hope from, the talent pool seems to have been a little bit dried up and there's a real shocking lack of creativity about. We were crap today, mind, so you're not alone. Scored three fairly lucky tries and never looked to show much penetration in open play, same as against the ABs. We'll have to put in a massive display to do the Aus.

What was the ref doing For Stephen Jones try , awful refereeing
Finnegan Posted 22 November 2009 Posted 22 November 2009 What was the ref doing For Stephen Jones try , awful refereeing Why was it awful reffing? Jones never told him he was going to kick, ref never pointed to the posts, the Argentines just assumed because of Jones' posturing? That's what I got from it, anyway? Fantastic reactions from Jonesey to be fair. Oh well. They never looked like scoring until we just handed them a try.

No mate , the ref asked the captain to go over and have a word with his team now about the regular offences. The captain was in the process of calling his men in
Finnegan Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 I dunno Sparks. You wanna go watch the highlights, the Argie captain's not talking to his boys, they're not huddled at all, they're just heading back to the posts for a kick. It's just school boy.
Edmund Posted 23 November 2009 Posted 23 November 2009 the highlights Haha that's brilliant. Great try and thinking by Jones. Nothing wrong with that in the slightest. Poor organisiation from Argentina. I love it how on the reply there all walking away in numbers.
dandannieldanok Posted 28 November 2009 Posted 28 November 2009 Pretty unlucky for Wales that they ran into an Australia desperately hungry to show what they're about after the Scotland loss. Very impressive first half, Pocock was fantastic.
