davieG Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 If there's a ruck you're allowed to come over and try and shield it or compete for the ball but you have to stay on your feet and lean over. You can't just jump on the floor and obstruct the ball. Ok All over now Congrats to the Tigers although not the most entertaining of games
lildave3 Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 What a season for the City Well done Tigers Now just to win next week...
Finnegan Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Next week should be THE game, really. You'd expect a much bigger Tigers performance and O'Driscoll is having the best season he's had in years.
Benji Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Fully deserved, top at the end and through the play-offs Considering where we were through the start of the season, this was a massive turnaround. European cup would top it off no end. Brilliant.
Joe. Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 That was too close, even though Irish never really looked liked getting anything at 10-9 down. They'll ned to play much better next week against Leinster, but they've got the job done well enough today. Next week would cap off a great season for the city.
Uncle Albert Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Yes get in there, well done Tigers! Workman like performance. We will need to be a whole lot better than that next week or we could get a mullering of the Irish boys. Hopefully our lads come out and show them what we can do on our day! So hope I can get up there for it now. Roll on Saturday.
WardyisPukka Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 not a great match but got the job done , going to have play ten times better than that next week , MASSIVE GAME
C-man Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Delighted. Will give them a huge boost ahead of next Saturday!
Fosse Boy Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 The playoffs are a stupid system anyway. Tigers came top after 22 games, therefore they won the league then as far as I'm concerned.
markbsac Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 super tigers get in there.....we dominate english rugby once again....man u win the title and so do the man u of english rugby on the same day....TIGERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
C-man Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 super tigers get in there.....we dominate english rugby once again....man u win the title and so do the man u of english rugby on the same day....TIGERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well actually, we're the most successful team in English Rugby History. Manchester United are still behind Liverpool on European Honours.
Ultra Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 Tigers are level with Wasps in terms of Heineken Cups won. If you think football has an over-abundance of plastic fans you should have seen the fans at Twickenham today'. I'm sure many "Irish" supporters were also seen at the Harlequins game at Christmas, as well as last season's final against Wasps. Fortunately, this time Tigers didn't quite bottle it. I hope that this is the first of many trophies lifted during the Richard Cockerell era. By the way, Man Utd have won two WORLD titles. So overall I'd say they were more successful than Liverpool.
Babylon Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 By the way, Man Utd have won two WORLD titles. So overall I'd say they were more successful than Liverpool. They're about as tin pot as the inter-toto cup.

So Liverpool beat off the likes of Milan, Madrid an' co but it's okay because Manchester United were able to best the Asian and African champions?
Ultra Posted 17 May 2009 Posted 17 May 2009 United still had to beat the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea to win the Champions League in order to qualify for the Club World Cup in the first place.

Cockers seems to have cleaned up one hell of a mess in double quick time. I'm chuffed for the lad. Last time we talked he was trying to do a flog me a few bits in a second hand shop near Rugby. I bet it beats that!
SemperEadem Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 Chuter, White, Croft, Crane, Kay, Moody, L deacon, Vesty and Hipkiss all in the england squad
Sparky Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 Chuter, White, Croft, Crane, Kay, Moody, L deacon, Vesty and Hipkiss all in the england squad Good to hear , Croft will surely be called in to the Lions squad if Quinlans ban is upheld.
SemperEadem Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 Woods, Cole and Varndell all made the saxons squad as well.
Finnegan Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 United still had to beat the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea to win the Champions League in order to qualify for the Club World Cup in the first place. But is the World Club Cup not every two or every four years or something? This making it entirely coincidental whether you go or not? And it's a complete tinpot, nobody cares. It's a marketing bananza and not a lot else.
dandannieldanok Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 Chuter, White, Croft, Crane, Kay, Moody, L deacon, Vesty and Hipkiss all in the england squad Pleased to see Sam Vesty get rewarded for his stunning end-of-season form. I'll happily admit that Vesty is a player that I simply didn't think would be good enough for the Tigers and especially international honours, well he proved me wrong.

I'll happily admit that Vesty is a player that I simply didn't think would be good enough for the Tigers and especially international honours, well he proved me wrong. I was a season ticket holder when Vesty got his first few games at senior level and I thought he was utterly diabolical. He's beefed up a lot since and his kicking from hand is pretty mighty. Still don't think he'll ever be world class though or even much of an international on a major tour. And I really don't think he's a fly half.
lildave3 Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 I've just realised, how come you won't sticky this one but the CCC thread is stickied and has been for years
Fosse Boy Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 I've just realised, how come you won't sticky this one but the CCC thread is stickied and has been for years Because cricket is bloody awesome.
