Milky Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 I was resigned to defeat after our miss, then the goon knocks it wide!!
Ultra Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 Well done Tigers! But it should never have gone down to a shoot-out. The game was won in normal-time, until Newby and Murphy picked up needless yellow cards.
markbsac Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 Surely we need a sticky thread just for Tigers? There are enough fans on here, even if a lot of people detest them.Anyway Heinneken Cup Semi Final, playing well at the moment. Cardiff 12-20 Tigers. Anyone else watching it? i dont detest them i support city and tigers...jesus there a team from leicester who win things...the MAN UTD of rugby thats why people hate us...and barnes being an ex bath player hates us with a passion.....well we hate that fat tosser as well CUM ON TIGERS YAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Unit Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 just got back from cardiff, fooking 5 hour bus journey!! brilliant game though
Nick Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 TIGERS< TIGERS <TIGERS< Best game of Rugby I've seen in a while. Fantastic.
Finnegan Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 There isn't a need for a sticky thread. If it's popular, it will stay. It will not stay as nobody cares about rugby. A couple of us on here follow the sport religiously year round. We are hugely in the minority. A few rent-a-fans popping up ever February and in the event of a Heineken Cup final doesn't really keep a thread going all year round. The European Football thread is more obvious and popular and that doesn't get pinned either.

davieG Posted 3 May 2009 Posted 3 May 2009 davieG - if this is shown as highlights or something, can you record the peno shoot out for me? There you go - just the shoot out that's all I got. http://www.davieg-gallery.limeo.co.uk/imag...ther/tigers.wmv
Sparky Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 Gutting to see it come down to penalties like that. Really, really have to feel for Martyn Williams - what an absolutely legendary player he is.You have to say that Tigers deserved it for 74 minutes of the game though and showed more adventure in extra time. Hope they beat Leinster in the final, year by year I always want to see a Welsh side finally win the Cup but short of that I'm cheering on the Tigers. Expected a man of his natural ability to slot that , a kick from in front of the posts on the 22 is a piece of piss , the props should be able to get it over from there Well deserved victory for the Tigers and now on to BOD and co

Narborough Bod Posted 4 May 2009 Posted 4 May 2009 ah... Whilst I'm a footy fan and always will be, I thought it was an excellent match and the afters showed why so many people are starting to pay more attention to Rugby. Cockerill showed far more humility in his interview than any footy manager would and Dai Jones (is it?) didn't look for excuses but admitted that we were the better side. Can you imagine Ferguson ever being that gracious in defeat or victory?

Hitesh Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Absolutely dominating this semi final. Apparently they are more tired despite them having an extra week off!
Joe. Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Went today to work (can't complain with the free ticket as well). Dominated really, with a short spell of Bath pressure in which they got to within 7 of us. Tigers follow up with their generic yearly visit to Twickenham...

A top footballer should be able to find the net from 12 yards. It's just about bottle and concentration as much as anything else. You're right, though, Martyn Williams is the last not-natural-kicker you'd expect to miss.
Finchy Posted 9 May 2009 Author Posted 9 May 2009 Tigers follow up with their generic yearly visit to Twickenham... Yeah it's getting a bit boring I think we'll win the Premiership no problem, not so sure about the Heineken cup tho, Leinster look very good.
C-man Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Managed to part-time myself a ticket for the European final. This will be my fourth Tigers European Final. I'm proud of our Rugby team.
