What was the attendance/atmosphere like today? Better than the Heineken Quarter??

Tell you what, L1 was fecking quiet yesterday :D

Seriously, I was a bit disappointed with the turnout to be honest, but I was also a bit disappointed with Bath, expected them to make more of a game of it

attendance was a few over 18,000 yesterday. 26,000 for the HC quarter and 30,000 empty seats watched the semi on the Heineken Cup which is the pinnacle club rugby tournament in the world (I am told). Those figures must surely be disappointing to Tigers fans. The fact that they are so succesful and yet still live in the shadow of an extremely average, 3rd division football team?

Yeh spot on , I'd watch Newc vs Sarries but would watch Britains got talent in front of Newport vs Glasgow.

This.

I'll say one thing for the Guinness Premiership - it's a lot more competitive than its football equivalent. Any team (apart from Bristol) was capable of beating anyone else this season.

Rather hollow.

Bath were rather poor and it was a walk in the park for Tigers. As for this nonsense about Football fans being more 'naughty', we had fans shaking fists at each other and cheering on a potential punch-up. As much as I like the sport, they ain't half some nobbers who watch it.

Now, time for my big game there this Saturday. The place will be buzzing once I step onto the turf.

I'm not entirely sure what to say to you, really.

I mean are you actually this stupid? Should we be disappointed that less people watch the FA Cup every year on TV than Wrestlemania or the SuperBowl?

Or that Major League Baseball have higher average attendances than the Premier League?

Rugby isn't as globally or even nationally popular as football - by a hugely long shot. And even then the North-South split ripped rugby in half and we've two codes followed across the country with the North generally favouring League and the South tending to favour Union.

Twenty-six thousand fans for a rugby game is staggering, Tigers should be proud of that. They might be a bit disappointed they didn't fill it as they have in previous seasons but I think the novelty of big attendances has worn off a bit for the Tigers fans and they really don't like the Walkers (fairly, really, whether you hate the Tigers or not it's got to be said that Welford Road has far better potential for atmosphere.)

The Tigers consistently have the attendances of a Championship club - hell there are Premiership football teams like Bolton, Boro and Fulham they're easily challenging for attendances. Pretty decent for rugby.

Mmh, maybe, but I'd say it's no more engrossing then the Championship. And generally speaking the Magners' League is the same - Newport and Connacht might be poor but they're still leagues better than Bristol.

You're the biggest arse on the forum. There's hardly anyone that respects you on here.

It always feels weird going in to a bar down here to watch the rugby when a lot of the Tigers fans in there are glory hunters from other parts of the country. :giggle:

Ive been to see London Irish a fair few times but I will be supporting the tigersfor this game! Come onn

I'm so bored with a lack of football that I actually could possibly give them a flying fook.
