Not for me, I liked him when he was here but that was in his prime, he's way past that now. I think to suceed we need players on an up in their careers not players on the rapid decline like Connolly. He's barely played any football since leaving us.

I puzzles me why he joins a Quatar side when he is clearly good enough for bottom half Premier league team. I mean wages could be a catch but I wonder what is the draw of the Quatar league champions

He won't be taxed much on his earnings in comparison to the UK and western Europe, plus he'd be a superstar over there rather than just a good player.

Yeah that Fletcher would definitely get 25 goals a season in the Championship, and survive every bus/plane crash the club happen to go through, and take over as manager if we are in the bottom 3 at Xmas and would then get us promoted through the play-offs... Regarded as a definite purchase...
