Roman Bednar, If he passes the drugs test we should sign him up as he is inevitably going to be sacked by West Brom.

Good striker imo

I think we should be very wary of free transfers. Remember martin allen's buys? most were frees and look what happened. But its true sometimes you can pick up the odd nugget. Just as long it is the odd one here and there. Remember they are on free for a reason.

I know what you are saying and perhaps agree. It was Micky Adams that said 'players are free transfers for a reason'.

This is true and some of them [or most of them] are poor = thats why there free's.

However, some pay off dont they?

Like Sir Les Ferdinand and Ben Thatcher wasn't bad. Gareth McAuley was free as well and did a job, a good job I recall.

I would take a few players that are on/going on free transfers. The likes of Stephen Kelly at Birmingham City (he's only on loan at Stoke isn't he?)

David Noble would be a good signing, I remember him scoring in the last minute for Bristol City against Palace.

Jermaine Pennant, could we attract him? He is from Nottingham and may want to return to the midlands, then again, are Pompey after him as he is on loan there?

Aaron Mokena? Sean Davis from Portsmouth?

And then theres the ones that are absoloute poor, worse then poor.

Remember, Chris Makin, John Curtis, Josh Low, that dopey Kaebi. - Ridiculas.

So, for free transfers. Some pay off, some don't.

By the way, Id take Skacel and what about Grezgorz Rasiak? - Scores for Watford at this level and surely Saints cannot afford him!

Anyone have any idea when our "released players" list will come out(knowitall)? Many clubs have revealed their lists, and I'm surprised we haven't already done it, considering we wrapped up the title earlier and to give players a good chance of finding clubs.

The obvious names on the list are gonna be: Henderson, Kisnorbo, N'Gotty, Edworthy, Hayles

Question is what happens to the likes of: Logan, Powell, Worley, Psssh, Wesolowski, Hayes, Sappleton, plus some of the young players which are usually released about this time

Knowitall posted a thread about who he believed was staying and going not long back.

Fingers crossed Powell and Sappleton stay.

Sappleton won't stay, or at least he won't feature much. HE IS SHIT.

Its inevitable.....

Stoke manager Tony Pulis has confirmed that Vincent Pericard's contract will not be renewed.

The striker has been with the Potters since June 2006 but has not been able to command a regular place in the starting XI in recent times.

His last appearance for the club came in January's FA Cup defeat at Hartlepool and he was subsequently loaned out to Millwall.

Pericard's spell with the Lions was cut short by an Achilles tendon injury but he will now be allowed to look for a new club.

The 26-year-old's current deal expires at the end of June and he has been granted a free transfer by Pulis.

"He's a smashing lad and he goes with my very best wishes for the future," Pulis told Why Delilah.

"Even though he didn't play that many games, he was one of those players helping with our early development a few years back. It's just a pity he had his fitness problems and what-not.

"But behind the scenes, he was always first class and played his part as a member of a growing squad."

LCFC NEWS

According to my source at Belvoir Drive, Nigel Pearson is looking to blood a number of young new talent signings in the reserves next season as he looks towards the premiership in the future. Those he's looking at:

Mickey Ruddle (Darlington, Tribunal)

Thomas Gransden (FC Copenhagen, Free)

Sanchez Watt (Arsenal, Loan with view to signing)

Leon Noel (Liverpool, Trial with view to signing on Free)

& Noel Gallagher's 17 year old cousin Ashley Gallagher from Bury.

My source told me that among his first team targets are:

Jason Koumas

Nathan Ellington

Ross Turnbull

Rob Earnshaw

& Jason Culina

lol

according to my sources he's a free agent after being released from Barrow Town Youth U17's. He's rumoured to be on the move from 'The Slabs' in the summer.

Jonathan Douglas has just been released by Leeds, wonder why? Maybe he wants to play higher up? he is a Republic of Ireland international and he's played most of their games so he must have wanted away.

Ken Barlow could do a job at the back.
