TrickyTrev Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 might be a crazy shout but how about Joey Barton. Sacked from Newcastle so im guessing he wont cost a massive amount except wages. Collymore was just as much trouble when we took a chance on him and it worked.... kind of The thing is if you get Collymore's head right you have one of the most talented players in the world and the most complete striker in England. If you somehow manage to sort out the mess that is Joey Barton, you have someone of about the same ability as Robbie Savage. That any club thinks the risk is worth the potential reward is beyond me.
Ultra Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Ivan Campo, Tommy Miller, Billy Clarke, Dean Bowditch, Chris Casement, Jai Reason and Kurt Robinson have all been released by manager Roy Keane. Talks with Matt Richards, Liam Trotter and Dan Harding, whose deals run out shortly, are yet to take place. Surprised about this. Clarke seems a decent striker. I'd hope we could have a look at him.
Joe. Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Henri Camara would be a great shout, but can you imagine his reaction to sitting on the bench behind Steve Howard and Matty Fryatt?
foxoffderby Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Why is everyone rating Ellington? He is really not that great. This is true hes not rated by any derby fans I can promise you that
flanimal Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 He's mediocre. I don't want loads of shitty players signing, or rejects from Championship teams. We need to move forward.
dandannieldanok Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Ellington is a less injury-prone version of Carl Cort, similar languid style and both are one-season wonders.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 This is true hes not rated by any derby fans I can promise you that Really? He did score a quite fantastic hatrick at Pride Park quite a while back in his Gas days. And I've just found out his middle names are Levi Fontaine - so I'm sure Thracian will want us to sign him now!
Joe. Posted 10 May 2009 Posted 10 May 2009 I've just had a horrible thought that Mandaric will want Ivan Campo. Just been released by Ipswich. It'd be like Hasselbaink all over again...
foxoffderby Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 Really? He did score a quite fantastic hatrick at Pride Park quite a while back in his Gas days. And I've just found out his middle names are Levi Fontaine - so I'm sure Thracian will want us to sign him now! derby have decided not sign him on permo deal and has been sent him back to watford after a season long loan... he was 6 or 7 choice striker under clough, behind hulse, chris Psssh, davis, commons, villa varney dickionson etc. He was bought to the club by jewell but hasnt been picked by clough much. I live in derby get a lot of info from local sheep shaggers.
maddog Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Lita?Hahnemann? Please. But the entire Championship will probabaly be after them both. Milan will have to get his chequebook out for wages
Father Ted Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Lita?Hahnemann? Lita - definitely. Hahnemann - no way, having watched him recently he has been absolutely shocking. I think it's about time for him to hang up his boots.
RowlattsFox Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 I don't think Hahnemann is as good as some people think so wouldn't want him, Lita on other hand would be worth a gamble, he will expect big-ish wages though.
edd Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Murty, Duberry, Hahnemann and Lita all released surely we should attempt to get atleast one! Lita and Hahnemann would be great signing!! what do you think?? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ing/8052913.stm
Ultra Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 I thought Hahnemann would be worth a punt, until I found out he's nearly 37.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Although I think they are both good players, the question is do we need Lita and Hahnemann? I think we should go for them but we cannot garuntee them a place week in week out. But I would never question Nigel if he did go for them or anyone.
edd Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 I thought Hahnemann would be worth a punt, until I found out he's nearly 37. Hahnemann is still better than every other GK we have had this season and is still quality. And he wouldnt be the oldest player in the squad
edd Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Leroy. I think leroy lita would be a quality signing But who woudl be better Lita or Fryatt? good competition and i would prefer lita on a free than cox for 2+million
Father Ted Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Hahnemann is still better than every other GK we have had this season and is still quality. And he wouldnt be the oldest player in the squad No he is not. He has been terrible recently, if he was any good Reading would be keeping him. He has become immobile, slow, has delayed reactions and is generally poor now. I would say that Bunn, Stockdale and Hendo are all better than him.
richie8oy Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Worth a shout? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/g...ers/8053129.stm He looked pretty good when he was on loan at Norwich a season back....
