surrifox Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Palace have let James Slowcroft go on a free - thought he was one of their stars last season
General Smuts Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Palace have let James Slowcroft go on a free - thought he was one of their stars last season How old is he now? I'd still take him as well tbh.
dan_84 Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 might be a crazy shout but how about Joey Barton. Sacked from Newcastle so im guessing he wont cost a massive amount except wages. Collymore was just as much trouble when we took a chance on him and it worked.... kind of
Jimmy Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 IF Joey Barton is available on a free someone like Blackburn/Bolton would snap him up
Jimmy Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Diego Tristan. has he been released?, would be a good signing all be it very short term what about Andy van der Mayde
Big Ol' Bob Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Not released but he is out of contract in the summer. Can't see Zola keeping him when Carlton Cole and Dean Ashton are back.
surrifox Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 IF Joey Barton is available on a free someone like Blackburn/Bolton would snap him up £60k a week in wages- they would be barking even to consider it given that he is likely to be suspended/in open dispute with the manager/club/in custody most of the season

Collymore was just as much trouble when we took a chance on him and it worked.... kind of Good shout, I'm pretty sure he'd be willing to knock £50k a week off his wages to join us.
Brainy Posted 8 May 2009 Author Posted 8 May 2009 Ivan Campo, Tommy Miller, Billy Clarke, Dean Bowditch, Chris Casement, Jai Reason and Kurt Robinson have all been released by manager Roy Keane. Talks with Matt Richards, Liam Trotter and Dan Harding, whose deals run out shortly, are yet to take place.

Collymore was just as much trouble when we took a chance on him and it worked.... kind of Yeah, but Collymore was good. One of the best, most complete strikers playing in England... Barton is shit, and the £50,000 a week he earns is £49,700 a week too much.
teblin Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Yeah, but Collymore was good. One of the best, most complete strikers playing in England...Barton is shit, and the £50,000 a week he earns is £49,700 a week too much. Not sure thats quite right!
Jimmy Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 £60k a week in wages- they would be barking even to consider it given that he is likely to be suspended/in open dispute with the manager/club/in custody most of the season he'd take a paycut, he'd have to or he'd be earning nothing
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Has a contract that expires at the end of the season. Would be leathal at this level.
flanimal Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Not sure thats quite right! What has Barton done? Every game I watched him in, he was ordinary. I could understand taking the gamble if was in the same league as Rooney or something, but Barton is not all that. Plus, if he signed for Leicester and then played against Newcastle, it would be a massacre!!
General Smuts Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Can we get back to Henri Camara please? He's no Chris Powell
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 He's no Chris Powell Agreed, but he'd be immense imo.

Big Ol' Bob Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Henri Camara has been poo for the past three seasons. Championship he might be good, but he is a right old moody shit.
Samilktray Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Nathan Ellington and Henri Camara, playing off Danny Shittu up front. Wow.
JoeyB Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Henri Camara has been poo for the past three seasons.Championship he might be good, but he is a right old moody shit. Been injured for most of them.......
flanimal Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Why is everyone rating Ellington? He is really not that great.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 May 2009 Posted 9 May 2009 Henri Camara has been poo for the past three seasons.Championship he might be good, but he is a right old moody shit. Never really been given a consistent chance, and as JoeyB said, he's had injury problems. The emergence of Zaki at Wigan hasn't exactly helped him either. He knows where the net is, and he's a character. Nathan Ellington and Henri Camara, playing off Danny Shittu up front.Wow.
