Steven Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 For the last time he is 18. Some people never learn do they.
Manwell Pablo Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 He looks older than 18, kind of scary, isn't he? I think Leicester should keep him, he's a goalscorer, he could be our Wayne Rooney! Kinell he's an ugly ****er. Good riddance, we have too many ugly players. Stephen Clemance being top of the list, he looks like the love child of a Grotbags the witch and C3P0.
Tevez Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Why do jokes like Hayles and Fryatt get a game here and this lad didn't is beyond me.
Webbo Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 I'm sure there's more to this than meets the eye. Like others have said if all he wanted was first team action then he could go out on loan. Maybe he's just after more money or perhaps there's someone/something at Leicester he doesn't like. It could even be that a big club are interested and are using a smaller club as a proxy so they can get him cheap.
Uncle Albert Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Why do jokes like Hayles and Fryatt get a game here and this lad didn't is beyond me. Or Ashley Chambers getting in some of the squads! 44 goals in 42 games is stupidly good at any level.
Leicesterboi Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Okay Master William Kee, shouldn't you be out looking for another club? Very original Samuel. Good to see you've shared your opinions. Sorry for supporting a player I rate. I hope we let every player who scores 42 goals in 44 games leave the club.

If you play football on a Saturday and you know you can compete in the first team and he's not getting a sniff (despite goal record) then fook it, if clubs show me enough attention and promised me to play football then I'd take it. If bloody Macheda can get in United's first team than this lad is good enough for Leicester. Absolute balls up by City.

JoeyB Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Leicesterboi, where do you get all of your info from? We have been told by knowitall, a very credible source that Kee is staying and going out on loan next year

Munzie Posted 8 May 2009 Author Posted 8 May 2009 Sorry for supporting a player I rate. I admire your support for him. Admiration for Billy Kee is something I share. Having seen him play several times in the past and reading the various reports about his performances has led me to believe that he has the potential to become an assured professional player. This is also the reason why a fail to see why he wants to sever ties with us at this stage in his career. A return to the Championship could mean a return to reserve team football. We're going to need to do something for fringe players if we wish to maintain our new found momentum. Do we know for sure that we won't have a reserve team/league? Also, unless you know otherwise, why can't he go out on loan next season? He was blocked this year for reasons only the club and player will know. As he now feels that he is knocking on the door of regular football, it would make sense for him to have experience elsewhere if he doesn't immediately fit into our first team plans. A decent run in a league one/two side will do him the world of good - it would give him a platform on which to prove he can hack it with the big boys and carry on from where he left off with his goal count. A recall clause within the loan deal is pretty commonplace these days. All this with the added comfort that he is contracted to Leicester City, a Championship side with designs on pushing up to the top tier. I can't see why (if money isn't the issue) this isn't a no-brainer.
Uncle Albert Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 I hope Billy does now leave Leicester and go onto much bigger things, Leicester I think have really shot themselves in the foot here. Northern Ireland Under 19 Captain and he cant make a regular spot in our reserve team. Then leaving the club permanently is the right desicion.
JoeyB Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 From what I understand the terms offered were peanuts and it was a 1 year deal with an option for a further year! The lad would have been better off getting 2 paper rounds! Also there was an offer for him to go on loan last season which Leicester declined. The comment regarding the need for him to play regular first team football as he has only just left school is complete rubbish! The lad is ambitious and has talent in abundance. Look at all the strikers at the club: Fryatt, Howard, Hayles (for now), Dickov, Sappleton, McKay, Chambers, King, Chamberlain and the rest... what good is it for him staying here? He may aswell drop down a level secure a longer contract and play first team football. With no reserve team, the step up to the first team would be even bigger when and if he did get his chance. Is it a risk? Maybe, but the lad has talent and confidence in himself, which is obvious when you watch him play. I say fair play to the boy. Most lads would snap the hand off an offer like this and be happy playing non competetive football for another season at a big club(unless a loan move was sorted). I dont understand how people are slating him for having ambition? Best of Luck to him and the rest of the young lads trying to make a name for themselves but have people like Dickov and Hayles standing in their way!! Have you not read the link? Leicesterboi doesnt have to get his info from anywhere else apart from Skysports. Because the top paragraph is in the article isn't it............
Leicesterboi Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Leicesterboi, where do you get all of your info from?We have been told by knowitall, a very credible source that Kee is staying and going out on loan next year My knowledge is more to do with the youth team than the senior team which in cases like this is useful. I'm not going to name names and it is by no means as regular as Knowitall's updates but in this particular case I am 100% sure that what I have said is true and it would be nice if Knowitall could confirm this when he is next on here. I know that the offer from Leicester has been on the table for around 2 weeks, so when Knowitall originally posted it, he may have been on the impression that Kee would sign (as most young players do), but if you notice, Knowitall did state '' Billy Kee going out on loan we hope for the season.''
Ed 1 Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 I posted a few weeks ago that I had seen Billy out in Loughborough, the day of the Southend win, with Mattock, Chambers and another reserve team player. He said that he had been offered a two year contract and that he was going to sign. He seemed pleased. Obviously not.
FoxesFan123 Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 The club currently has about 10 strikers ahead of him 1-Fryatt 2-Howard 3-Dickov 4-Hayles 5-Campbell 6-Chambers 7-Odhiambo 8-Sappleton 9-King 10-McKay plus Chamberlain and then Kee OK, Hayles Campbell Odhiambo and Sappleton are likely to be gone this summer, but its pretty certain we'll be bringing in at least 1 new striker. I think the club should really have done more to try and get some of them strikers out on loan this season, especially with no reserve football, the likes on Chambers and McKay at least. Just look at how it helped Gradel. With 42 goals in 44 games, and seeing other 17 year old strikers get into their first team for their efforts (Macheda), the competition for places next season and no reserve team, you can understand his frustration.

Napoleon In Rags Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Why do jokes like Hayles and Fryatt get a game here and this lad didn't is beyond me. How many goals this season? You can't honestly justify Kee being picked ahead of Fryatt?! And thats from someone who isn't even a big fan of Fryatt and thinks he may struggle in the championship again.
flanimal Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Kee could've been on the bench a bit, Hayles is pointless. I'd go for Kee every time.
Thracian Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Given his rise through the academy and links to Leicester, why doesn't he settle for a loan deal? If he wants first team football, go out on a season long loan, make a name for himself and return to his parent club.Chances are, he will have to sign for a league one/two side to secure his regular starts that he wants. Why sign permanently for a lower division side, with no guarantee that they will get promoted? Surely it's better to seek a loan move and return to a Championship club if he starts to play well. All players want to play at the highest level possible. Because he's seen how limited his prospects are. There is no reserve side of any consequence at Leicester yet Kee was playing at reserve team level the season before this and has therefore moved backwards, standard wise, under the new regime with no real indication that anything might change. And, while one or two like O'Neill and Craig King have had occasional opportunities Kee has had to watch any place he might have had on the bench taken by the likes of Dickov and Hayles. Hardly encouraging for the lad and downright stupid in my view. As for the prospects of going out on loan who, apart from Gradel, has ever really benefitted in recent seasons? I've mentioned already how few Academy graduates have since progressed under our new regime. Psssh - an excellent player - has been entirely wasted despite a brilliant pre-season and, all the above considered, I don't see why Billy Kee would consider he had anything to look forward to at Leicester. Don't forget that DJ Campbell - recently a prolific scorer in the Championship - couldn't get a look in at Leicester, not even a place on the bench ahead of Dickov and Hayles - so why would Kee fancy his chances? All players of Kee's age need ever more challenging games and increased experience, not months of wasting their time or of having any chance of first team experience blunted by a bench full of loanees and old timers.
