if we get him thats a big if then it would be a great signing and i think it is a good possibllity he will come

but whats nice is the ambition we are showing in going for players which in seasson before when we was in the championship we did not show

Only 1 of which has (finally) proved they were worth the spending.

That's not the point I was making... the point is back then people thought, oooh aren't we ambitious.

I remember being happy about Clem, knew nothing about Howard but instantly disliked DJ.

That was ambitious in a way, as we tried to nick Birminghams 'star' players from their promotion season the year before. I expect thats the reason they went down!

I agree, this guy has quality and would be the best keeper in the Championship.

Blimey, and he's not even from the 60's :D

He'll go to Chelsea, sit on the bench for the whole of his spell with the club, then inevitably move to a Championship club anyway.

But he will go 2-3 million pounds richer through bench warming win bonuses etc. Can't blame him really.

No Jack Hobbs then is he  .

Put him in the same bracket as Adebyor if he goes there.

Another rumour that's gone off the boil. We might hear more when Middlesborough's fate has been sealed.

Chelsea target could end up at Leicester or Newcastle on a free! 04:22 PM 05 June, 2009

Chelsea transfer target Ross Turnbull is definitely leaving Middlesbrough.

Boro chief executive Keith Lamb confirmed this on Sky Sports News. He said: "Ross Turnbull has told us that he is leaving the football club.

"He's exercising his right to leave at the end of his contract.

"Ross has said that he wants to play, regularly, first-team football and that was one of the reasons why he wanted to leave Middlesbrough Football Club.

"I am assuming therefore that he's going to go to a club where he will be a regular in the first team."

Lamb's comments seem to rule out a move to Chelsea, as Turnbull will be understudy to Petr Cech if he moves to Stamford Bridge.

Leicester are apparently offering the 24-year-old keeper £10k per week, while Newcastle are also thought to be interested.

Where do you think Turnbull will go? Let us know by posting your comments beneath:

I don't really know him but if they think he's the guy for the longer term and can deliver if we get to the PL then I guess it's not. Well not in the the professional football world
