General Smuts Posted 12 May 2009 Posted 12 May 2009 How did i not see this?!? Worra signing. Loving the ambition Nige.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 If we sign him i would be very very shocked and very very pleased.
billyfox1 Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Boss Nigel Pearson (above) wants Doncaster's Richie Wellens, 29, for £1m but negotiations for Boro keeper Ross Turnbull have stalled. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/200...15875-21354261/ Hopefully not true
i luv u foxes Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 if we get him thats a big if then it would be a great signing and i think it is a good possibllity he will come but whats nice is the ambition we are showing in going for players which in seasson before when we was in the championship we did not show
Babylon Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 if we get him thats a big if then it would be a great signing and i think it is a good possibllity he will comebut whats nice is the ambition we are showing in going for players which in seasson before when we was in the championship we did not show Campbell Clemence Howard About £4m quids worth there alone.
General Smuts Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 CampbellClemence Howard About £4m quids worth there alone. Only 1 of which has (finally) proved they were worth the spending.
lou Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Would be good but Im not getting excited about anyone until they sign on the dotted line
Babylon Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Only 1 of which has (finally) proved they were worth the spending. That's not the point I was making... the point is back then people thought, oooh aren't we ambitious.
General Smuts Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 That's not the point I was making... the point is back then people thought, oooh aren't we ambitious. I remember being happy about Clem, knew nothing about Howard but instantly disliked DJ.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 CampbellClemence Howard About £4m quids worth there alone. That was ambitious in a way, as we tried to nick Birminghams 'star' players from their promotion season the year before. I expect thats the reason they went down!
General Smuts Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 I want him now! fook the other 2 signings this is the one i'm really interested in.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 I agree, this guy has quality and would be the best keeper in the Championship.
Guest Posted 14 May 2009 Posted 14 May 2009 I agree, this guy has quality and would be the best keeper in the Championship. Blimey, and he's not even from the 60's
Mickey O'Neil Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Apologies if on here somewhere else, very foolish and showing lack of ambition if he joins Chelsea. <_<
StanSP Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Apologies if on here somewhere else, very foolish and showing lack of ambition if he joins Chelsea. <_< It even says on the report that if Turnbull goes Cech will still be untouchable. If he wants regular first-team football Chelsea is obviously not the place to go. THe only games he will play in are a few CL group games, FA Cup and League cup games.
Joe. Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 He'll go to Chelsea, sit on the bench for the whole of his spell with the club, then inevitably move to a Championship club anyway.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 He'll go to Chelsea, sit on the bench for the whole of his spell with the club, then inevitably move to a Championship club anyway. But he will go 2-3 million pounds richer through bench warming win bonuses etc. Can't blame him really.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 But he will go 2-3 million pounds richer through bench warming win bonuses etc. Can't blame him really. No Jack Hobbs then is he . Put him in the same bracket as Adebyor if he goes there.
Munzie Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 Another rumour that's gone off the boil. We might hear more when Middlesborough's fate has been sealed.
davieG Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 Can only find mention of him in the wishlist Source - probably bollocks Chelsea target could end up at Leicester or Newcastle on a free! 04:22 PM 05 June, 2009 Chelsea transfer target Ross Turnbull is definitely leaving Middlesbrough. Boro chief executive Keith Lamb confirmed this on Sky Sports News. He said: "Ross Turnbull has told us that he is leaving the football club. "He's exercising his right to leave at the end of his contract. "Ross has said that he wants to play, regularly, first-team football and that was one of the reasons why he wanted to leave Middlesbrough Football Club. "I am assuming therefore that he's going to go to a club where he will be a regular in the first team." Lamb's comments seem to rule out a move to Chelsea, as Turnbull will be understudy to Petr Cech if he moves to Stamford Bridge. Leicester are apparently offering the 24-year-old keeper £10k per week, while Newcastle are also thought to be interested. Where do you think Turnbull will go? davieG Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 £10k ?? That seems rather steep I don't really know him but if they think he's the guy for the longer term and can deliver if we get to the PL then I guess it's not. Well not in the the professional football world
