Bert Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 Had a fantastic day. Was really hard work, and i honestly believe any team could've won it. The heat proved a menace yet again, but everyone played it in the right spirit, and hopefully enjoyed it. Shingler was class yesterday, and played really well, as did everyone else on my team. Thanks to everyone who helped to sort it out and the ref's.

I probably just missed you, as I headed off to get the last bus about that time. I lack the stamina of those old warhorses.

Team C deserved to win it for me, we had no energy left in the Final, Tevez's boys really took it ouf of us in our last group game. Thanks to Davie and the Refs, yea I think I might of overeacted to some of the desicions given but thats how I play football and when you see desicions which I thought were wrongly given against you then you will say something to the Ref just like I would on a Saturday or a Sunday. Sorry if I caused you offence.
Bert Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 Gotta agree with Albert myself there - When some people play football, they can't just "play for a laugh", If I'm playing, I'm playing to win, and I get pumped up to the max, and if i think a poor decision has been made, I'll give my opinion on it, just as the referee's have done.

Obviously I'm not holding grudges against people - I made that obvious in the pub afterwards - or meaning to intimidate them / make them not want to come anymore, because without them these things wouldn't be possible. I'm massively sympathetic to the job they do and hugely grateful for them turning up. I just really can't help myself in the heat of the moment. Understatement of the year: I hate losing.. Shock, horror, eh! But in all seriousness, I'm sorry if I upset anybody or went too far. I just hope that, on reflection, the people that I offended can be as understanding as I have now I've cooled off. I'll save Jamie the bother.We came 3rd, the table doesn't lie. RowlattsFox Posted 14 June 2009 Posted 14 June 2009 My body is aching today, and I've got a sore foot after taking a tumble in the playoff game, was worth it though, really enjoyed the day. Thought our side played well, just lacked a natural striker at times apart from the game we hit 5, did we get biggest win? Impressed with everyone on our team, I would say Mikey was our player of tournament though, great effort. The best side won, I was disappointed I let Shinglers shot squeeze past me in the first game, could have made a difference in the end. And JoeyB? sorry for the bang in the ribs. Thanks to the refs as well.
