Edmund Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Just got a labour flyer through also. Got to love the propaganda. Asian woman, white male, mixed raced kid. Do people actually buy into this?
Edmund Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 The main issue with them is that they wish to pull Britain out of the EU altogether, a sentiment I personally disagree with quite strongly. The EU is flawed, and the politics of it need reforming, but membership is overwhelmingly in Britain's interest. Thus, I wouldn't vote UKIP myself. Going to look into each party a little more and there policies. They are now up there in my top three as shrenchel sold them to me
Finnegan Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 I am only voting for the MP in my area arent I? First timer to this voting stuff. There are three different elections on the cards. There's the European elections that will probably affect you the least, there's the council elections and there'll eventually be a general election. The council election is one of the few elections in which I may half-consider voting for the Tories. The reason being that having a Labour council with a Conservative government (which is pretty much inevitable) can end up leading to problems. I probably won't though, I imagine I'll vote Labour locally. Come the general election you vote for the MP in your constituency though, yes. The party with the most seats in parliament end up winning.
welck12 Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 VOTE FINNERS!Blackjack and hookers for everyone. See now thats how you get votes; policies like that would have anyone under 30 voting for you in a flash
Tommeh Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Until Chris Powell runs I'm staying outta all this. Although if Lib Dems are still in favour of safe standing at the footie, I spose they'll do.
Dr The Singh Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Are you voting ukip? Are they right wing? That's interesting to hear. Also Singh makes a interesting point about jobs etc I'm voting to have a party rather then any party!!!!! Seriously, I have no idea, i'm so dissolusioned by the whole thing, I can't see any party providing any sort of solutions!!!
Webbo Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 The masses of people who will vote for the Conservatives frustrates me, really. They're not voting with their economic interests at all - Labour might havae gotten complacent and gone and fucked everything up but if you really believe the Torries care about the average £20k a year Joe then you're sorely mistaken. To me the Labour party is like a spoilt child always wanting more and more not caring how things will be paid for. If you say no they always reply with not 'not fair' or 'you're only doing it for spite'. The tories on the other hand are like the boring adult, telling you you can't have something unless you can afford it. We're living with the consequences now of the Labour policy of chucking money at everything. Taxes are up, unemployment is up and the economy is shrinking. That's not complacency that's the inevitable consequences of their idiotic policies.

Finnegan Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Probably, Webbo. And I won't stand here and fight Labour's corner - I just feel the need to point out that the Torries also left this country in a financial mire the last time they had power and that neither are really that much better than the other. That's what's been terrific about all these abuses of property claims lately, it's really highlighted nicely how self-interested all politicians are. They're ALL living in an utterly different world from you and I and no matter what their politics they all seem to have just completely lost touch. The thought that David Cameron understands the common man's life is utterly hilarious to me. The likes of Prescot and Brown may have had "working class backgrounds" but they're a million miles from that now. Generally the whole world is in this mess, it's not unique to us and it's greed that's created the situation. And nobody can be held more responsible for endorsing and promoting self-interest and greed more than Ms Maggie "society-doesnt-exist" Thatcher. See now thats how you get votes; policies like that would have anyone under 30 voting for you in a flash Hahaha, the best was a woman from Belgium (I think?) who offered blowjobs to everyone who voted for her. Here ya go. She's a fox n'all:
Guest Bilo Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Hahaha, the best was a woman from Belgium (I think?) who offered blowjobs to everyone who voted for her. Here ya go. She's a fox n'all: Why doesn't Ann Widdecombe do that?
Finnegan Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Why doesn't Ann Widdecombe do that? Dude, I just ate. I'd certainly vote if a certain Ukranian politician opted for the same approach, mind: Yulia is so lovely.

Finnegan Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 What a surpise that link is blocked at work due to "adult themes" Er, it says: I am the leading NEE party senate candidate in Belgium. And due to popular demand, I will give 40,000 blowjobs to anyone who requests one on this page. It started with our response to incredible claims that were made by other parties in Belgium, several parties promised new job opportunities in ridiculous amounts. We responded with a parody campaign for which I posed naked and promised our voters 400.000 new jobs. This national campaign resulted in international media attention and I received hundreds of e-mails asking for 400,000 blowjobs. If this would get us even more media attention, I'm willing to give 40,000 blowjobs to make the statement. According to my planning this would take me 500 days to tour around the world, visiting all the ones who signed up for a blowjob on this page, giving 80 blowjobs per day. So the offer is limited, sign up while you still can. Click the button if you would like me to give you a blowjob.

Webbo Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Probably, Webbo. Well, I wasn't expecting that. And nobody can be held more responsible for endorsing and promoting self-interest and greed more than Ms Maggie "society-doesnt-exist" Thatcher. Unfortunately I was expecting that.
l444ry Posted 13 May 2009 Posted 13 May 2009 Socialism doesn't work because humans are selfish and greedy. And big-organization capitalism doesn't work because humans are scheming social manipulators.
Fosse Boy Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 Registered to vote now. Ran it close though, didn't realise it was deadline day until I checked this morning.

Guest Bilo Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 Registered to vote in local and European elections this morning. My views are clear on the Euros, spoiled ballot being my decision, but who to vote for in the council elections will require more deliberation.
Shrenchel Posted 19 May 2009 Posted 19 May 2009 I'm voting UKIP Anyone that promises me a good night's sleep must be OK If you're actually that misguided you're better off voting for no2eu. They're the only party whose members will not take their seats if elected as MEPs. All 9 UKIP toffs that got elected took their seats and a couple have been some of the worst offenders of boarding this 'gravy train' they all moan about, snapping up every expenses paid trip etc they can.
