If Knowitall is correct, and those signings are likely to be successful, then I think we only need:

- creative midfield player, good passer, playmaker etc

- defensive, dogged ball-winning midfielder

- goalkeeper (maybe a loan would do)

- right-back (although Morrison is pretty decent)

- big target man - Howard-esque, the quicker the better

On what we've been linked with this would be quality :whistle: .

Who knows, he is a good player. Depends what his ambition is - to play in a league where two decent-ish teams compete, while all the others play shakey League 1 style football; or play for a team that is pushing for a place in the world's best league...

sadly thats what football is these days, money and glory trumps loyalty everytime! its just a lot of players a delusional and think they can make the big time, maybe he can but so far hes proved hes a bloody good league 1 striker this means nothing in the championship, im confident he'll do well for any team i just hope he doesnt get too arrogant.

Being a new guy to this site, and seeking how much you guys rate KIA, I read his history of his posts this morning. He is in fact 90% right so due respect to the guy. The only major one he got wrong is that he stated mattock was leaving in one of the transfer windows, think he was linked to villa at the time and he said he was 99% sure. Due respect to the guy he has inside knowledge and must be respected....

When you consider Kris Boyd was very close to signing for Birmingham from one of the biggest clubs in Rangers and people like Kenny Miller are the best in the SPL you have to question why any ambitious player would want to go there. You have 8 big league games a season with a possibility of a decent draw in the champions league before eventual failure. The only competetion i would consider to be a threat would be West Brom if they are infact interested.

Cox probably fancies his chances at an England call-up eventually, and why not? Kevin Phillips got one. English players in Scotland sometimes get forgotten. I honestly think Leicester is the best club for him.

Aslong as we recieved a decent fee and bought a decent replacement i would'nt be bothered either.

thats ok but i just wonder why nobody likes mattock hes an all round defender, i dont know what people expect from a left back, especially a young one. i know people say hes played enough games and at international level, but this doesnt instantly make him amazing. i like joe and hope he stays hes a good hard working local lad and will always do his bit for this team. yes to be fair every players has his price, i am curious what people want from him?

I'm not saying he's a bad player. Just that if there was an offer on the table of 2mill or over say then we could do worse then cash in and get someone else.

i like the lad still only young and under 21 international, good going forward needs to work on his defence and positional sense . But that will come with experience. We should stick by him.

thats fair, its just a case of how well he develops and for all we know he might become a better player elsewhere, these things happen in football.

Fair enough, i think for him to develop we do need cover though, as at times he did play terrible last sesaon, e.g Hereford away. And all the cover that we had was a 39 year old, who tbf did a good job but i would'nt imagine he'd be here next season.

totally agree he had a crap season, powell and berner were better, age is on his side...

Anyone else think we should have a 'Questions for Knowitall' thread? We can ask him the latest on situations like this and whether there is actually any truth in the possibility of us signing Gunnarson, Turnbull, Wellens etc.

Just a thought.

Mattock is OK, but if someone like West Ham came in with a £1.5m offer - I'd say sell!

He's got room to improve though.

West Ham have been in for Mattock before - with an offer double that.

West Ham offered £3m for Mattock? Insane. He's got potential, but both Berner and Powell often looked better than him last season. I'm not eager to sell him, 'cause I think he has got ability, but his errors could easily lose us matches in The Championship.
