StanSP Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Can't be arsed traipsing through 13 pages to find out why. But yeah, why? Hopefully he's just messing. All this hype for absolutely jack all would annoy me.

flanimal Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Think Celtic are screwing with his mind. For some reason players love the idea of playing in a crap league where they can score loads against glorified conference teams. I wouldn't, but there you go. Scottish League is a mess. Also, West Brom will feel they are "too good" for the Championship and all that shit.
Webbo Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Why is ibbosuk posting stuff that doesn't make sense? I don't get it When has he ever done anything else?
teblin Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 When has he ever done anything else? If cox signs he signs. If not i'm sure nigel and his staff have ample other ideas. I think cox could end up being vastly over priced and we may be able to pick someone up just as good who has not been hyped. Don't get me wrong i was very impressed with Simon Cox, but its not the end of the world if he doesn't sign. Either way i'm nigel will have a side capable of competing in the championship.
JoeyB Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Celtic: Scott McDonald Scott Brown Georgios Samaras Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink Chris Killen WBA: Roman Bednář Ishmael Miller Luke Moore Sherjill MacDonald On Loan: ( i would expect them to keep 1 if not 2 of them) Juan Carlos Menseguez Jay Simpson Marc-Antoine Fortuné Leicester: Howard Fryatt Dickov Chambers Kee King I mean out of the choice of all of those i think Cox would deffinetly be in our starting 11. Like people have said he wants to play first team football which is why he rejected a move in the winter or summet iirc. Fair enough if he went to Celtic he would get to play champs league footie and with West Brom he could get more money and a better chance of being promoted. BUT if he wants first team football and so he can get noticed which is what he said he wants we would be his best option by far. As far as we know the papers are all wrong, and with the 80% that knowitall has said is complete the other 20% could be agreeing the fee. and before you say he wouldn't be able to talk to us, he can because alot of clubs before have allowed players to talk before the fee's have been agreed
Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Hate to say it but nothing will be confirmed until the transfer window reopens, so we may or may not have signed him.
flanimal Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 I agree, Leicester are the best club for him, but players get hypnotised by money and bullshit champions league games against some Danish team no one has heard of. He's 22, in 3-4 years he'll be 25/26 and hitting his peak, first team action with City would improve his game, no doubt. But the 80% from Knowitall would suggest it's all the tedious things that need sorting. Will be interesting though...
Joe. Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 I'm sure knowitall will come back on here when something major develops anyway so it's pointless speculating anymore. If he signs, he signs.
Tilley Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Flanimal needs to put his dick away and step away from the keyboard.

I agree - if we don't get him it won't be a major loss. No doubt about his ability, but I seriously wonder where he'd play if we signed him - would he be an intended replacement for Fry-up (and if so, is Matty to be shipped out ?), or Howard (he's not the same sort of striker - and look at what happened in those matches when Stevie wasn't playing last season), or is he being bought to play WITH Fryatt and Howard (I did see from an old Football Yearbook that when he started his career at Reading he was labelled a midfielder), or is he just being bought as a 'squad player' (quite sensible for us to pay £2 million for him then !!) ?
flanimal Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Flanimal needs to put his dick away and step away from the keyboard. Shut it, or I'll beat you to death with my dick - and the keyboard. More the keyboard though.

Are Leicester capable of playing a 4-3-3 with Cox, Fryatt and Howard upfront? I know we're no Chelsea, but I suppose it could work...
richardsfoxes Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 It's the same with any decent striker we want/buy, Fryatt i think will suprise alot of people by thumping a few goals in. Cox and Fryatt i personally think would be good, aslong as we get midfielders who can provide the service.

Cox and Fryatt i personally think would be good, aslong as we get midfielders who can provide the service. I think that could work too, Fryatt acting more as a provider. But the lack of a target man is dodgy. Unless Nigel Pearson is planning to buy Cox, and another big striker to replace both. I think Fryatt is definitely good enough for Championship. He just needs to be less selfish.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 You're not being paid per word. The season has ended. Chill out.
StanSP Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 When has he ever done anything else? To be honest, this is the first time I can remember him posting, since I joined
flanimal Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 You're not being paid per word. The season has ended. Chill out. You can never chill out if you're a Leicester fan.
ibbosuk Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Cox ain't coming anymore. He was using us as bait. He's off. And you are now right, that is the cynical side, and we have slipped so far as to be just another pawn, a partial showcase, or a VERY short stop, a stepping stone....Most of the clever people on here know this, (yes there are a few)...To the rest, the hopers, and glory glory mechants, THE CLUB NEEDS YOU!.....And I like a good laugh.. GURU IBBOSUK.
Stueyt74 Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 As long as we've got N'Guessan in the bag. I'm quite excited about saying his name on a regular basis.
Lillehamring Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 since when did WBA become such a footballing powerhouse - i can see them struggling much the same as most mediocre teams that drop out of the top flight,
Super Arj Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 i honestly don't see why leroy lita wouldn't fit in with leicester's current set up.. he's just as good.. if not better than cox because he's proven in more levels.. i think lita is our man... and as we've seen.. it's not the big money signings that always do well abilities like ross mccormack's ... might be what we find in Lita and/or N'guessan
