Super Arj Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Don't get me started about this! Mr Penalty kick. Did you know Cardiff got 18 penalties last season?! yet clubs would still be willing to pay £5 million for him... you can't deny his ability.. however i do agree.. he did take a shitload of penaltys.. but i think the main thing is that he won most of them..
AMYB101_LCFC Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Well apparently Swindon have turned Leicester down Don't know if that's true or not but it said it in my local paper in the article about Bristol City being interested in Cox. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/bristolcity...il/article.html
Koke Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Swindon are putting Cox on auction, the highest bidder takes him. They're just trying to milk every penny out of the Cox sale. If Bristol City are willing to pay more than £2m for him, then by all means take him. He's not worth that much.

Apparently they've just bought three new players so I doubt they would be that interested in buying Cox really!
Father Ted Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 i honestly don't see why leroy lita wouldn't fit in with leicester's current set up..he's just as good.. if not better than cox because he's proven in more levels.. i think lita is our man... and as we've seen.. it's not the big money signings that always do well abilities like ross mccormack's ... might be what we find in Lita and/or N'guessan I agree about Lita. Would be an amazing coup. Imo could be playing in the premiership. He's strong, powerful and a prolific goalscorer. He could also back Howard up.

Lets go for Lita on a free paying him a good highend wage. Hes proven at championship level. Not bad in the prem.

Father Ted Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 I wouldn't say I've paid any attention to Reading, but he's a fast striker, rather than a big target man type figure isn't he? He's fast AND tall. Sort of the Drogba mould.
lildave3 Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 He's fast AND tall. Sort of the Drogba mould. He's 5'7
Super Arj Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 hahaha.. he does play with a drogba like approach.. except he isn't a bitch... i think he should be definate target
Father Ted Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 He's 5'7  Well, I knew you would say that and that's why I said tall but forgot to write in comparison to LD3... He looks tall on TV!
flanimal Posted 15 May 2009 Posted 15 May 2009 Agree about Cox, I rate him, but the way things are at the club, I would question a fee above £2.5m. He should cost no more than around £1.6 - inflate it to £1.9m If someone wants to pay £3m or more, go for it, there has to be a player somewhere in europe or africa that is as good who would cost a tenth of that amount.
davieG Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 From an Ipswich Town Fans Site. Posted today Lincoln City chairman Steff Wright says midfielder Dany N’Guessan has not agreed a move to Leicester City, contrary to reports earlier in the week. Town are one of a number of sides who have been keeping tabs on the 22-year-old Frenchman. Wright says talks have begun with Leicester regarding the compensation due as out-of-contract N’Guessan is under 24 and the player has also spoken with the Foxes, but denies that it’s a done deal: "Leicester will feel they have a head start on everybody by talking to Dany, but by no means is it cut and dry. "Although we have started talking to Leicester about a possible compensation package, there is still a long way to go and they still haven't agreed terms with the player. "I will not name the other clubs but there are others waiting to talk to Dany and they have made their interest known to us. "Dany's contract doesn't officially expire until June 30th so he has plenty of time to make his decision about who he will join. "It's still very early and I expect there to be further developments in the next week." Town were first linked with N’Guessan last month and the Blues have regularly watched the former Auxerre and Rangers player this season, most recently on the final day of the League Two season. Reading, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday and Crystal Palace are also amongst those to have been linked with the 6ft 1in tall left-sided winger or frontman. Town are very much in the market for a left midfielder with Luciano Civelli out until early next year with his knee ligament injury.

I can't help feeling that Milan's big mouth is going to cost us both Cox and N’Guessan.

You remind me exactly of Maddog, popping random figures into every sentence.
StanSP Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 That news from the ITFC fans site sounds legit. A month and a half to decide where he's got to go. Milan has to do some persuading now if he wants to keep to his word especially with so many other clubs in the running
ronnup Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 I love the way Champ manager makes people think they've got any idea what someone's worth, '1.75 is o'k but 2 million is too much?' What are you planning to do with the left over 250,000? If cox is going to become a big auction then we should steer well clear I reckon, Lita is a much better target. Proven, and physically exactly what we need. Isale Mcloud Billy Sharpe Matty Fryatt Any of these league 1 heroes ever done anything in the Championship? I really fear these 'top scorer' signing frenzies.

teblin Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 Players from abroad are less likely money wise to want to come to england due to the 50% tax on high earners.
Ultra Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 That doesn't kick in until next year. And even when it does, the money on offer will still be way above that in Latin America, Africa etc.

richardsfoxes Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 *Awaits knowitalls responce* - I just hope its good news
ha77y Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 i bet knowitall wished he hadnt said it unless he has inside information
ha77y Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 N'Guessan 90% deal done.Cox 80% deal done. Unless the players have a hugh change of heart or they fail the fitness test. I expect both to sign in days. that is
Super Arj Posted 16 May 2009 Posted 16 May 2009 we need a few more european players.. gems like tunchev .. who are relatively cheap..and will do a better job than any of the defenders we've had since matt elliot
